I would write more if I had a typewriter
I post about my writing and occasionally reblog others things
Currently working on my first full length novel :)
You can call me Sm, any/all pronouns. Nicknames are fine!
If I could live in a library I would, I live and breathe books. Iām quite taken with mythology and classic literature, and I have a deep passion for linguistics and horses. Analysis of characters and stories is one of my favorite pastimes and takes up many of my thoughts. I spend most of my time working on my projects and drinking tea.
Obsessions: Arcane, Death Note, Saiki K, Studio Investigrave games, Heaven officials blessing, Bungo Stray Dogs (Chuuya), Project Sekai (VBS), Heathers, Danganronpa, horses, ace attorney, camp Cretaceous/chaos theory
Inspirations: Charles Shultz, Dav Pilkey, Jonathon Auxier, Stuart Gibbs, Jules Verne, Virginia Woolf, Emily Dickinson, Sappho, Miguel de Cervantes, like all mythology in general, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Ray Bradbury, Barbara Dee

Hearts Of Fire: (HoF)
Progress: Writing 2nd draft āļø
Norah Gallagher is not human, nor is she a monster. Still, her village despises her, she's stuck looking after her drunken father, and she doesn't even know her motherās name.
Sheād been perfectly fine flying under the radar and having tea parties with her only friend and mentor, until it all came crashing down.
One of the legendary dragons was dead. And it was all her fault.
The balance of nature threatened to collapse, causing an eternal winter to begin, and thrusted Norah into the dangerous woods to search for a solution. She treks out to find the famed wizard Alphair, only to find he isnāt who she thought he was. To make matters worse, her sworn enemy seems determined to save the world first and take all the glory for himself.
With lives on the line, including her own, Norah attempts the impossible: save the world and be the hero when everyone said youād only be the villain.

TWUECUD: Thespians With Unregulated Emotions Cause Unregulated Drama
A sitcom-inspired comic about seven weirdos in college!
Mikal and Jee pull pranks, Alison is anti-social, Vishal has failing grades, Nicole has anger issues, and Gage was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
What do they all have in common?
They were forced to join the theater club to make friends, led by the overly fast paced president Tylee, and co-led by her supposed rival Nicole.
Their opposing personalities make for a mess of a play production, but what wasn't in the script is finding that maybe what they need is just a friend after all. (Or six!!)*

*Note, this synopsis more so describes the linear plot of the story, one that has not been fully developed yet. The current comics that have been released/will be released in the future are slice of life and random. I have no idea if/when this plot will be developed, but I am working on it.

I of course have tens of ideas lurking in notebooks, google docs, and my own brain, but am focusing mainly on HoF.
Feel free to ask anything about my projects, me, or just to say hi.
I just ran across a post by someone who is planning on doing some research into the mature content label and the potentially mature content label and why posts are marked one way vs the other. Since Tumblrās flagging system clearly has a racism problem I figured you might want to know about it.
I donāt know if this person has experience doing research like this and Iām not familiar enough with the potential risks of sending a random person links to posts with mature content labels, so I havenāt decided if Iām going to participate. But hereās the link in case youāre interested:

I donāt represent it enough in my own writing but I love when Dazai actually shows another emotion. Specifically when he fights with Chuuya, aka like the only times he shows annoyance. Itās a shame we donāt get more of this side of him.

I have a theory that the moon IS a trans woman cause sheās always associated with feminine things but when we saw the craters that look like a face we called it āThe Man In The Moonā. Sheās a woman with a face that people may perceive as male. Sheās a beautiful trans woman
the moon is a beautiful trans woman who hates terfs and shows her face every night to remind other trans women they are beautiful and strong and loved and important and wonderful and that terfs and their opinions dont matter
I wanna add to this if itās ok?? In Hindu mythology, Chandra, the moon, was originally thought of as a male deity. However, as time went on, symbolism involving the moon and the nameĀ āChandraā itself became identified with femininity, with beautiful girls being described as having āmoon-like faces,ā with their dark, long hair reminding lovers of the midnight sky, and names likeĀ āNilaaā (āmoonā in Tamil) and āInduā (in Sanskrit) are now pretty much now completely girl names!Ā
AlsO Chandra is married to 27 wives, who are all stars. The moon is a trans lesbian and is gay for all the stars in the sky.Ā
the whole reason why they're so unnerving is BECAUSE there's nothing in them!! because they're unrelentingly liminal and lonely and uncomforting. there shouldn't be a monster guy in there chasing you. you should glimpse other humans (?) from a distance but they walk away before you can close the gap and then they're gone. things should run away from YOU. do u get it
"and there was a MONSTERowooowwohhhh" the monster is isolation and banal beige sameness and uncanny valley architecture. you fool. you rube. you're putting a hat on a hat and the second hat is not only unnecessary but it ruins the first hat!!!!!!! "there's a monster in there" great so now it's just another place for a monster to be. ridiculous
...I have a silly idea and I require input from the creatures. >.>
Since I have the start of the cup as a 2d vtuber thing, what if I finish up animations for it and do little book reviews for self-pub authors not on the big services?
Like my frens publishing to itch.io.
I'd have to start with the ones I already have and either ask for review copies or grab them when there are sales (I is broke) but it would be someone out there reviewing these books in a video format.
Because I can't find anyone doing that? It's all kindle unlimited this and bookstore find that and none of it's 'hey look at this weird shit I found on itch today, you might like it'.
Which I think is needed.
We need more people yelling about the small authors who are doing this alone. Will it be helpful to me, as an author? Probably not. I mean I could link my store in the bio or something but it won't be about my books so I won't talk about my books.
I will talk about your books.
Granted, this does mean I'll be biased toward horror at first, as that's what I got. I also have a sci-fi book to read, a fantasy webcomic adaptation, and some erotica, but if it proves a fun thing to do and makes some authors happy to hear nice words about their stuff...I can keep going and read more things. I am open to every genre, even if I don't like it I can see where others might and highlight that.
This is an idea for fall/winter when my son's back in school and I have more time alone to record things. I'll be recording spooky stories for the podcast anyway so more voice stuff will just help loosen up the vocal cords. Maybe. Might make me hoarse but, who knows, maybe the cup is hoarse.
