We’re grateful to our mom, Patricia, and wanted to celebrate her and surprise her this mother’s day with a new domain and full-functioning online store, so please check us out! Welcome to The Birdhouse. It’s 401 sq. ft., (37.3 m2) spread out over 3 stories. The stairs take up a lot of floor space, but they’re a necessary component. Why is it so narrow?

Well, since 1920, it was a garage at the rear of this house. The town wouldn’t give the owners a permit to expand outward- they had to maintain the original structure’s footprint, so they had no choice but to go up.

Since they decided to put the bathroom on the 1st fl., it didn’t leave much space for a living room, so there’s just a cute little seating area for 2.

There’s only enough room for the toilet and a shower.

There’s no room for the bathroom sink, so it’s tucked behind the front door.

The kitchen isn’t a bad size, b/c it takes up the whole ground floor, and has a lovely spiral staircase, too.

Stairs on the 2nd level lead to the bedroom on the 3rd fl.

This is lovely, and since there’s no room for a closet, they included a pole, although I would’ve made a solid wall to hide the hanging clothes. I think it’s a cute little place.
