“Felix, you have my heart, even if you don’t realize it now. You’ve had it for longer than I have even realized myself, and no amount of telling myself that I am perhaps wearing my heart too much on my sleeve would ever want to make me back away.”
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
But thank you so much to @fuckingarataswespeak for letting me use your detective! Hopefully I did her justice! :)

Title: Beautiful Night
Pairing: Morgan and Georgia (@/fuckingrataswespeak detective)
Words: 1k
Notes: Set sometime in that space before established relationship!
Prompt: I feel safe with you
Sunset had long passed in Wayhaven.
Most of the street stores in downtown were closed for the night, the lights long turned off except for the low glows of their display lights. In such a small town, only one place there was truly open and bustling at this hour, an almost bright beacon in the darkness despite the lights not being so.
Chen’s bar.
Which is exactly where Georgia found herself tonight with the rest of Unit Bravo, the decision to take the night off with the team a last minute one to say the least. But she was grateful for it, the moment that they could truly relax and not think about work, nor the hard times that it had brought them.
Farah had been chatting nonstop ever since they all had walked through the door, to which Nate had returned with a cheerful conversation himself, with Adam speaking every now and again. But her attention had been primarily fixed on Morgan.
The past nearly year had been a whirlwind ever since the silver-eyed vampire appeared in her life, which she had greeted head on with a smile. Even during the times that Georgia had gotten discouraged, it all seemed to turn out okay.
Perhaps that was the lesson, right? That time had taught her, even through the hurt, that she had been led right here, talking to Morgan, and watching closely for the amusement on her face that she tried so hard to hide.
It was nice to have someone that she could feel at home with, whether it was on the roof or the warehouse, or here. Despite all discouragement, it had led her here, and she could not think of a happier place to be.
Giving Morgan a smile that showed off the gap in her front teeth, Georgia moved closer into the touch, the woman already having an arm around her waist as in an effort to move as close as possible.
“Something the matter, sweetheart?”
She blinked, as she realized that she had grown quiet, but the shocked look on her face was quickly done away with in order to make place for a smile, “What could possibly be the matter?”
Georgia was vaguely aware that Farah was currently watching the two of them, the youngest vampire’s grin as bright as her eyes, but for now at least, seemed content in just watching the two. But for now, she resigned to giving a small chuckle and wait for Morgan’s response.
To which she was given a low huff of a laugh, “I’m just asking”
“You know me”, she beams, before joking, “Mind going a million miles a minute, and I’m just trying to catch up”
Morgan seemed to be content with that answer, and Georgia was not sure or not that she was going to say anything else when Farah interrupted.
“It’s amazing”, Farah says, that feeling also very obvious in her voice, turning to Nate, “It’s actually sweet”
While she could feel Morgan roll her eyes, Georgia gave a bright laugh, “Didn’t think we had in us?”
“I mean, you obviously do”, Farah says, before seeming to shift into mock thought, pointing to Morgan, “Though, I never knew that in you”
Morgan answered that with a scowl, which Farah was completely unphased by as she laughs, and Georgia could not help but laugh as well, even if she gently pressed further into the woman’s side as if trying to comfort her with it.
The rest of the evening was filled with the same closeness as the night went on, with occasionally conversation between them. And as much as she enjoyed the talking, she had come to find that she enjoyed the comfortable silence just as much.
~~~
Later during the evening, not quite sunrise but not quite, she found herself on the roof again.
With Morgan, of course, Georgia was at the point where it would be a bit strange to be up here by herself. A safe haven carved for the both of them, all the product of one conversation. Now they, always seemed to end up here.
Both of them as well as the rest of the team had gotten back to the warehouse after the bar closed, and even with the tiredness clinging at the edges of her eyes, she still did not want to sleep yet.
Not with the two of them close together on the rooftop, still making her head spin that she was here at all. That she was with someone that made her feel so safe, so belonging, so worthy. The one that had meant more to her then she could have ever thought possible.
Like that she could do absolutely everything, as long as Morgan was by her side. Braver than she ever thought that she could be, and in ways that were still surprising to herself.
Georgia looked up at the taller woman, making her eye contact with her, that was returned, silver eyes then going to her lips in a clear ask of permission.
Without a second thought, she moved closer to initiate it herself, and it surprised her just how soft it was, but still deep as she increased it with a sense of need as she swung her arms loosely around Morgan’s neck, Morgan’s arms wrapping around her waist, both of them having the need to have them as close as possible.
The next few moments seemed to really show the definition of sweet, as the two of them seemed to melt into the kiss. Something so simple, but the journey had been worth it.
When she moved back slightly, so she could breathe, she moved back slightly to find Morgan’s eyes, seeming to be the same color as the moon on this particular night.
“I feel at home with you”, Georgia whispered softly, saying the first thing that came to mind in the moment, and not regretting it at all.
Morgan moved to kiss her again, and she almost completely missed her response.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
Title: Gift
Pairing: Adam and Hafsa (@/withbeautyandrage’s detective)
Words: 1k
Notes: Set sometime in deep relationship/dating!
Prompt: This reminded me of you
During the past few years that Hafsa had know Adam, he had never been the one to be the most open in his affections. Not that this bothered them much, quite the opposite actually. Where he lacked in words was made up by and then some just by unsaid, quiet affections that could go unnoticed by many.
They however, saw them. And was thankful with how much that she was see them during the year and a half they had been officially together, the confusing and sometimes aggravating parts of it all. But that was all now far away, like a bottle being tossed out into the ocean before it was invisible to the eye.
Private, as if just for the two of them to share. Being meaningful because he was the one who did them, and she often tried to keep the ones that would. Sentimental in a way that she never thought that she could be.
The Hafsa of the past would likely be surprised if they found out what was going through their head now, even if those thoughts were not spoken aloud in the same grace.
But there was absolutely nothing in the world that could have had them expect this, especially not when things started off so ordinary. A normal fixture of their day to day lives now, juggling both of their jobs for those precious moments together.
And like in those ordinary days, Hafsa had been expecting him to come over to their apartment after his work was done, with them having gotten off work an hour before.
In the quietness of the room, they were in the kitchen, completely invested in the cooking before her. While Adam may not eat human food, it was still something that they were able to find relaxation in. The smell of soup was strong throughout the kitchen, as they gently stirred it, allowing themselves to smile.
Once it was done, they decided to let it cool some before they ate, going back to the living space of their tiny place, the screens that could bother some actually being quite calming to them. No matter what had happened to this place, and a lot had, it still stood right here.
Of course, there was always the possibility of moving in the future, if they had learned anything, it was the future sure could not be predicted. But it had served them well during a certainly not insignificant portion of their life, and that was quite enough.
As the thought occurred to them that they might as well go ahead and eat dinner, but that was broken by the doorbell ringing, and soon all thoughts of that were completely forgotten when they went to go open it.
Sure enough, it was Adam, who gave them a nod in greeting, but also with the small trace of a smile as well. Not a teasing or a mocking one, just a true, genuine, smile, which they felt herself return.
Sometimes, their partner came empty handed, in others, he would bring something with him. Today it seemed to be the same, except one thing was peculiar about it- it was wrapped.
“Hey”, they spoke first, gesturing for him to come in, which he did, following them into the apartment, “What’s that?” While they had been planning to wait a little before asking, the curiosity proved hard to stem
He looked at the wrapped gift in their hand, before going back to look at Hafsa’s eyes, simply replying, “Something for you”
They felt themselves give a laugh, answering that with a shrug, “That doesn’t answer what it is”
Gifted with what they figured counted for a smirk, though was sure Adam would beg to differ, was how he replied, handing it to them.
With a look to him to make sure it was okay, they opened it, feeling what seemed to be a frame as she did so, confusion filling her, before the shock.
Inside was a picture frame, but what truly surprised was that it seemed to be sheet music for the piano, and while seeming old and fraying the title was quite easily seen.
Moonlight Sonata
One of their favorite pieces to play on the piano, a hobby that they very much enjoyed. The overall emotion in such a classical piece had always struck them as something special.
They looked back to their partner in shock, “What is this for?”
To which, he almost looked uncertain as to exactly why, but that could be just their imagination, “It reminded me of you”
“You put in the frame and wrapped it all up like this?”
He gives a small chuckle, “I did not. I was just going to bring you the sheet, Nate had other ideas as to what to do with it”
“Ah”, they say with a laugh, “Well, I suppose I have both of you to think for this then”
“He’ll appreciate it”
Giving him a nod with a smile, they looked to the piano of hers in the corner, holding up the frame above it as if trying to figure out how it would fit above it, “Seems like I have something to hang up later”
While Adam did not audibly respond to that, the look that he gave them was quite more then enough to suffice, his pale green eyes almost seeming to sparkle in the low lights of the room.
Setting the frame down on the coffee table, they then moved closer to him, seemingly happy to stay there for as long as he wanted to, bringing out a hand to trace down his jawline.
“You really are handsome, you know”, they whispered, hawking back to the words they had told him nearly three years ago, in much happier circumstances this time.
He huffed a small laugh in response, before bringing her closer in a kiss, soft at first slowly growing more and more deep.
Making that response right as it should have been that long ago, new memories so it was not all a dismal one at all.
Taglist: @smalltowndetective (thank you for beta-reading this for me, you're amazing ❤️) @pearlsandsteel @swampwitched @amlovelies @freckles-spangledvampire @agentnolastname @sosolenoo @snesdudes [tell me if anyone wants to be added or removed (especially, I understand if you've lost interest over the year gone)!]
Whew, it's been a long time! I know I posted the first two parts about a year ago, so I surmise most of you lost hope of me continuing it... I almost did too, but I'm still in love with the story and characters, so I'm here now with the third part. It reuses several dialogue lines from the Book 3 demo, but there's still a decent chunk of original stuff in there :D
This past year has been... a lot. I'm not going to unload my life story on here, but I have been far from a writing mood at times.
Also, I've started development on an IF project, found over at @powered-if. Do feel free to check that out!
Fic under the cut!
———
Three days later, she could conclude that she’d been right to worry. Were the werewolves really gone? She anxiously checked behind her for several seconds before turning back to what had to be the others approaching.
Nate and Felix stepped forward, but they only held her gaze for a second before it locked with Adam's. He looked… relieved? Before she could comprehend the motion, he was right in front of her, a hand raised to her cheek. She hoped. She hoped and she wished and… he pulled away. Instead, he drew his hand to his mouth and whispered, “You’re all right…”
No, I'm not. I'm breaking and hoping and being disappointed and I don’t know if you’ll ever bring your walls down… I don’t even know if they’re walls anymore.
Yes, you do. Memories flood her, of Adam lying in a bed, half delirious with painkillers. Tu omnia. You are everything.
So what? That doesn’t mean anything. He was barely conscious. He could have said “ba be doo ba”, and you wouldn't be treating that as immovable truth, would you?
She realised he was still staring at her and cleared her throat. Then cleared it again. Opened her mouth, then closed it. Because really, what was one supposed to say when she didn’t even know how to be around him?
Felix snorted. “Well, one of you is going to have to say something. There’s so much tension around you two I can barely breathe.”
Nate frowned and said something to him, but his remark was effective in making her refocus. “Yeah, I—”
Adam cut her off. “It’s good to find you unharmed.”
She raised her eyebrows, voice croaking slightly. “Uh, thanks?” Stop it. He would say that to any team member who was recently in danger. But somehow she didn’t think he would have that… look in his eye, almost vulnerable as he gazed at her from an insurmountable distance.
Felix just rolled his eyes. “Well, that was pathetic.”
Everyone began to move away, going to talk about the mission, and she was just about to join them when Adam stepped closer to her side again. Startled, she looked up at him. His green eyes seemed to search her for something none of them understood, and her breath caught when his lips parted as if to speak, to tell her that… what? That he loves you? Don’t be ridiculous.
Then he was gone with a groan and feet already stomping in the direction of the others. She blinked, feeling tears behind her eyelids and willing them back because this really wasn’t the right situation for that.
Finally following the others, she slipped into place beside Mason, trying hard not to look at the infuriating blond who insisted on making her logical thinking turn upside down and inside out.
A hesitant hand on her back snapped her focus back to grey eyes at her side, watching her curiously. “It's fine,” she mumbled, and he dropped his hand with a nod. Then her gaze fell onto the metallic orb emanating the earlier scent. “What’s that?”
“Fritillaria imperialis.” The words would’ve sounded overly pretentious in any other mouth but Nate's.
She furrowed her eyebrows for a moment before it clicked. “The crown imperial plant?”
“Yes, exactly.”
Mason groaned. “Oh good, another Nate. One is bad enough.” He didn’t sound nearly as annoyed as he tried to, though, giving her a possibly unintentional fond smile.
Nate scratched his neck. “It's not just the plant but also a few other magical herbs to help make the musky scent extremely potent.”
“Incredibly useful at deterring away certain types of supernaturals,” Adam added. She tensed, refusing to react to the sound of his voice.
“Such as werewolves.” Nate concluded.
Adam said something about returning to the warehouse, but she was lost in thought. Why were they immediately so hostile? You did something, her insecurities said, you ruined it. Why did you volunteer yourself?
She didn't even notice that the others had drawn away until Adam addressed her directly. “Something troubles you.”
Yeah, myself. My feelings. You. Life. She pushed all of that away and veered around the question not phrased as such. “Maybe. I… can’t figure out what happened here.”
He nodded. “Even with as much preparation as we do, there are things beyond our control. You can only do so much, Detective.”
Yeah, that’s right. He can’t even call you by name. “I guess.”
His hand suddenly resting on her arm made her forget about everything else. Her eyes found his easily, as if they had never left, and a thousand unspoken words passed between them.
The last time she was this close to him… she held his hand at the reopened carnival. He hadn’t drawn away then… but it was obvious he’d been avoiding her in the month that had went by, afterwards. Right now, he was looking at her with something that she didn’t know, but definitely was far from ignoration. “I… We…” he stammered, before he let go and stepped back… again.
“Right.” Because what else was there to say? Please don’t let go of me. Please hold me closer. Please love me. No, she was admittedly pathetic, but she wouldn’t sink that far. So she turned around and walked to her car, alone.
Mason caught her gaze just before opening her car door, and jerked his head towards the passenger seat. She shook her head, but formed a heart with her hands teasingly. He scoffed and turned away, lingering for only a moment longer before disappearing into the woods.
———
They were back at the warehouse, but the familiar walls blurred together as she stared at the print-out in her hands, her own face staring back at her as words circled her head.
“It’s a Trapper's bounty.” A bounty a bounty a bounty a bounty on your head they want your head they want you dead they—
Fingers moved over hers, Adam's, taking the paper and crumpling it, but she didn’t look up, feeling her hands shaking erratically and face heat up. Not now, not now… It was all that she could do to hold the tears back as she gasped for breath, unable to make use of the air around her.
There was a couple of faint footsteps, and then she was swept up in Felix's arms as he sat down on the sofa, right beside her. “Hey, Ebe, it's okay. They won’t take you.” She burrowed her face into his chest, staying there until the panic subsided enough to speak to the others. She tapped his shoulder three times and he scooted back, keeping just one arm around her shoulders.
Nate frowned. “I suppose this would explain why the meeting with the pack ended as it did.” They were going to take her. If it had only been her and Mason— Felix's hand rubbed circles across her back, keeping steady for the moment, though she knew she would crash more fully when she was alone in her room.
———
“Detective.” Not Phoebe.
She sighed, feeling tired more than anything else. “Yes?”
“This new information….” Adam's voice hitched, but he continued, “The bounty.” Please, Adam. I let you walk me to my room, because I can never seem to say no to you, and I'd answer any question for you, but please don’t talk to me about how I'm wanted, dead or alive. Maybe just alive? It's terrifying, in any case. “More precautions will need to be taken now to ensure your safety.”
“Are you worried about me?” Yeah, right. With that wording, like a coworker.
He frowned. “Of course I am. And I know you are, too.”
She grimaced. “I don’t know. It’s not like— I'm scared, Adam, I'm so freaking scared… but I know you’ll protect me, and I probably won't be taken, so I don't really worry, but— I don't know.”.
He regarded her with intensity, nodding only once after she trailed off. “I'll have to be the one who worries for you, then.”
Her eyes avoided his, not knowing what to say. Of course he would worry about his teammate, his boss's daughter, right? Expectation had never led her right, and it wouldn’t start now.
He clasped his hands awkwardly. “I should leave you to your business.” Then he was gone, striding down the hallway.
After a moment of shock, she locked herself into her room and flopped onto her bed. No progress, as always. If he really felt like me, he wouldn't always leave.
Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she paused on a message from Mason. “You better now?”
“You know the answer to that. Adam left again. I don't know why I keep on hoping he won’t.”
The reply arrived only minutes later. “Because you're a hopeless optimist.”
“Are you insulting me?”
“No. It’s what makes you Phoebe, sweetheart.”
She groaned. “Don't start.”
He started writing, then disappeared. Then came back. “The stars are bright tonight.”
“That’s not how it works.”
“Come out and double-check then.”
She thought about it, but a yawn made her decision for her. “Too tired. Some other time.”
“Goodnight.”
Only a few hours later, she’d have to jump into work again... but at least she had a friend in her corner. Even if he wasn’t who she wanted to be there.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
Title: Rainstorm
Pairing: Adam and Nina (@/cada5h’s detective)
Words: 1k
Notes: Sometime during B3, slightly non-canon
Prompt: “It’s pouring rain why are you here?”
The past few days had been the strongest downpour that Nina had ever seen in Wayhaven.
Autumn rain and thunderstorms were not so much an unusual occurrence, but the past few days of it being constant was, the sun seeming to not be invited to join the sky. Just a dreary, almost depressing atmosphere left in its place.
Many people in the town were at home at this time of night, tucked away from the storm outside of their home, many likely already having fallen asleep hours ago.
That might have been something for Nina as well, but that looked to be impossible with the work that was starting to pile on her desk. With the arrival of werewolves in the woods around Wayhaven, it had grown a need to be able to make sure that everything was arranged as quickly as possible in a way that would leave both the people in Wayhaven and the werewolves safe.
In other words, a mountain of paperwork.
Detective work never seemed simpler at this moment, since the liaison part of her job always seemed to take the cake for the amount of work that she had to actually do, often draining outside of her normal work hours in order to take care of it all. The town had rarely been able to have a break since Murphy a few months back, highlighting the need for Bravo to be here in the first place as well as her taking this job.
Did not mean it was any less mind numbingly tedious, and the time did not make it any easier either, the numbing boredom the only thing truly keeping her awake.
With a sigh, she pushed her pen away, allowing her head to stretch, relieving the pressure that had formed from hunching over, allowing her eyes to close as she took in the sound of the rain. She expected to take a break for a short time, at least let herself completely unwind for a bit before having to continue.
That was the plan, at least, until she heard a knock at the door.
Which was odd to say the least. She had not been expecting anyone, especially not with the storm. There was always the possibility that it could be a neighbor, but Nina could not for the life of her think of a reason why. It was not like she was making a lot of noise.
But she walked up to the door to open it anyway, feeling her heart stop when she looked through the peephole to see who exactly it was.
Adam
What is he doing here?
It was not like him at all to come knocking on her door, much less this late at night, and without much of an explanation either. Something had to be wrong, and but still, seeing him outside of her door was enough to send her head in a spin, taking a moment to breath and actually get ready to open the door.
“Good evening, detective”, he says promptly as she opens the door, in that same clipped, professional way as always.
Even still, there seemed to be a sense of urgency present, as if there was something on his mind that stuck out to her.
“It’s pouring down rain, why are you here?”, she asked first, not seeing a reason to do anything that would not lead them straight to the point, still watching him intently as she ignored the thundering in her chest.
He gave her, to her surprise, an almost uncertain sigh, “The situation with the werewolves has gotten worse. We’ll need more immediate action”
“And you couldn’t tell me this was going on?”, she replied, still confused as to why he had showed up at the time that he did without notice.
Adam raised an eyebrow, “I sent you a message”
She blinked, not expecting that, before a thought came to her- she had not checked her phone since she had come back to her apartment.
Of course
“Sorry, I was working”, Nina gave a long-suffering sigh, “On the paperwork for all that’s been happening, actually”
The Agent gave her a nod, “Bring it with you. I-Agent Maddox wanted you to be involved in the proceedings of all of this”
The sudden falter in words at one point may have made her pause, but the past month had been harder than she had expected, “Of course. Let me get everything, and we can go”
Walking away from the door, it was the first time that she really realized just how loud her heart had been racing as she did so.
Despite everything, he still made her heart race like this. As crazy and ridiculous as that was, and how the past month had gone, she was still sent right back here. Even as much as she tried to bury down the small bits of hope that him coming here himself gave her.
But that would have to be unpacked later.
~~~
The ride to the warehouse was quiet.
Rain still beaded down on the top of the Agency car; Adam’s distaste of her hatchback quite well known. But there had not been much talk since she had followed him here, even if her eyes could not quite pull away from watching him nonetheless.
Eventually, she got the courage to speak, though how much her impulsiveness was influencing her would forever be unknown.
“Did my mother ask you to pick me up?”
“She asked one of us to”, he answered near immediately.
She gave a light laugh, almost akin to a scoff, “And you volunteered?”
“I assumed that as the leader of the team, it made the most sense”, he said, but the quickness in his words continued, as if flustered by them.
With a smile, she looked back up at him, letting the words from the tip of her tongue take priority over what was happening, “I’m glad it was you”
It was out there, she had said it, and with no way to take it back, even if she wanted to. But somehow, there was a sense of peace that came from that.
“Me too”
Nina felt herself blink, looking back up at Adam in shock, as her heart thundered in her ears, even more so when there was no taking back of what he said.
And while she could not find her voice again, it was all that she could think about for the rest of the drive.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
And thank you so much to @lividlyinlove for letting me use your detective (again!) It’s always a delight to write for her, and I hope I did her justice! Thank you for always being amazing! :D Merry Christmas!

Title: Aching Heart
Pairing: Mason and Cherie (@/lividlyinlove’s detective)
Words: 2k
Notes: In some weird timeline where Chapter 6 doesn’t exist in the demo? No Sin stuff haha!
Prompt: “I don’t want to feel this. I want to be numb again.”
If there, was one feeling that Cherie thought she would have gotten used to by now, it was the ache in her throat.
It had become a constant feature of her life starting a few months ago, small then, easily ignored, easy to hide. Nor did she really realize exactly why it had started up in the first place. But for whatever reason, she had just decided it was better to leave that mystery be, not make things more complicated than they already were. The supernatural was enough of a stressor.
But the ache was not fully bad one either, at least, before a few weeks ago. It was painful yet calming, like the bittersweet feeling of being finally home. A feeling that she had not felt in years.
That did not make sense, however. The relationship between her mother had recently cracked since the secret was revealed, and while she had no issue with being professionals with her, she had not been in the person she went to for that feeling since she was a small child.
Nothing seemed to slot into her mind that made sense. What made her feel almost nervous, but ready at the same time. A sense of vulnerability, but not with the same that made her want to hide in her shell shaped mind. The harsh breath that came out sometimes as if she had holding it and had no idea that she was.
Until that day- that day that the less that she thought about, the better. It was not like she could not already feel the impact, that ache becoming more and more painful and more obvious since that moment.
A couple of words, and it was enough for her to move past Mason as she made her way through the warehouse, completely focusing on her destination and not wanting to look back. Not when she had finally connected the dots and knew that this would make it only worse.
That would have happened, if she had not heard the faint sound of motion behind her, and her mind was not able to catch up to the stupid, illogical heart of hers.
And her eyes made contact with his silver ones, as they seemed to try and figure out just exactly what he was feeling. Surprise seemed to be the most obvious one, but the thin etchings seemed to be there as well, very different then the smirks she had grown used to, and had no idea how much she would miss.
She was not sure if he had something to say to her, or if he did, and had forgotten it. And Cherie knew that perhaps she should have considered what she was going to say when she saw him again, but it had not been a thought before.
How long it was before words were spoken would forever remain a mystery to her, but it felt like hours. An unfeasible amount of time given to where she was expected to be, but it was felt nonetheless.
Broken in only a single word.
“Cherie”
Not ‘sweetheart’, not with the normal lightly sarcastic tone. Just her name, pure and simple, still able to feel pungent to the atmosphere all the same.
Her words came without a real thought to them, seeming to slip off her tongue, “Mason”
Part of her was still angry at what happened at the café, no matter how many times she had tried to push it aside. But that seemed to have evaporated now, and even the ache in her throat growing stronger, she did not wish to see it return.
She was not sure what she was expecting, but he did not speak in return, seeming to instead focus on watching her, seeming to not have expected her to be there at all.
Swallowing, she spoke up, “Adam asked me to meet him. I should get going”
Mason gave a nod of acknowledgment to that, which she returned, before he continued on his own path down the hallway, and she was forced to go her own.
Her entire walk down to one the common rooms was just full of the confusing thoughts in her head, whatever idea she had when she would see him again with the chance to actually talk. What was she supposed to make out of any of this? That fateful morning had changed everything that she had ever thought that she knew, with a realization that she had no idea what to deal with and-
Stop. There was going to be nothing accomplished with this. None of it had solved anything the last few weeks, and certainly would not now. Leaving it until later seemed to be the only option at the moment, as much as the thought with what this could really mean taunted her mind.
Because she knew, did she not?
What this really meant.
Still, she shook her head, seeing no purpose in continuing to dwell in her thoughts no longer as she opened the door, to the small yet cozy room inside.
Adam was already there, as she expected, scanning what seemed to be a map in front of him, the smallest twitch of his eyebrows the only outward realization that she had entered. Not like he would have not been able to hear her heartbeat in the first place.
“You asked to see me?”, she asked aloud, finally causing him to look up, as if her speaking was the only thing that could do so.
Over the past few months, she had been shocked to find a sort of kinship with the leader of the team. Especially after the tense meeting that they had, she had expected this sort of thing to be impossible, much less with him.
But perhaps they had been able to set aside their differences anyway, even if she knew that every ask from the Commanding Agent of her opinion would catch her off guard.
However, there was something that seemed to be prying from the look he was giving her, seeming to notice just exactly what was going on despite all efforts to hide it.
With Nate and Felix, okay, perhaps she could accept that. They both seemed to have a talent in figuring it out, with different methods. But Adam was the last person that she would have expected.
“I did, yes”, he replies, whatever seeming to flash in his eyes being gone, “I wanted to discuss with you our plan for the next mission”
She gave a light scoff, “And you wanted my feelings on it? Not exactly something that I have expected”
“You are apart of this team, are you not?”, he asks, in that light tone he sometimes used that left her guessing whether he was mocking or joking with her.
Cherie felt something akin to a smirk cross her face, “I would assume so”
His eyes went back to the map in front of him, and she could feel herself chew on a question in her mind, figuring that he had already shown he trusted her, and she could do the same in return.
“You’ve lived a long time”, however, was all that left her mouth without any further context or explanation for them, feeling herself internally groan as Adam raised an eyebrow.
He gave her a nod, “I have, yes”
“Does- time really make it easier?”
Whatever he seemed to be anticipating, that certainly was not it. He seemed to seriously consider that question, not a trace of sarcasm in his delivery at all.
“It depends”
No further explanation on what that meant, but the two words seemed heavier than the leader of Bravo was really letting on.
“And you’ve had way more time to figure that out”, she says with a sigh, almost defeated, a certain vampire’s eyes seemed to appear in her mind despite him not being present.
Adam’s attention seemed to be fully pulled away from what he had called her in for, moving away from the map on the table, “What brought this on?”
“Just wondering how you dealt with the feelings”, she shrugs, not a complete lie, but not the full truth either.
He pauses for a moment before replying, a thread of uncertainty behind his eyes before it disappeared, “Detective, is everything alright?”
“Of course,”, she says, like it was obvious, giving him a smile, though even she could feel it did not look genuine.
Despite not wanting to feel any of this, everything that had to deal with Mason that had just been awoken to her. The deep longings that did not seem to leave no matter how hard she tried, and had a feeling that it never truly would. What she thought she was better than.
If Adam did not believe her, he did not push it, which she was grateful for, just giving her a look of acknowledgment, as if discerning just how truthful that was.
He looked back down at the map as he continued to talk to her about the mission at hand, though there seemed to still be a sense of heaviness that had fallen over, words being left unsaid on both sides, whether out of wanting or lack of knowledge on how to say them.
It was not long before she had said her goodbyes, completely missing what Adam told her as left, the situation and what the Commanding Agent had said only brewing in her mind.
And somehow or another, it led her to the roof.
The same place that her and Mason had that conversation just a short month ago. Where it struck her just how pleasant it was to actually be able to talk to him, outside of all the remarks and flirtations.
Perhaps she was hoping for that moment again- it felt right at least, the taste of the evening air seemed to cover everything as she watched the sunset, just to followed up with the stars that seemed to sparkle even from their miles away.
It was like breathing in a memory again, one that had a much different context before then it did at the time, but in a way that still kept her going back for it.
As the hours passed, she was laid down on the floor on the roof, almost asleep, when she heard the door up to the deck open, her eyes barely able to see who it was.
Without a word, he went to go sit up on the roof, though keeping close to the door, as if he would leave if Cherie asked him to.
But there was still not a part of her that really wanted that, no matter how complicated and strange the past few weeks again. Even still, the fact that he was here at all made the ache in her throat still sting, but in a happier way.
Sitting up, she gave him a small smile, trying to show that she did not mind him there at all, which he did seem to understand, moving just slightly closer but still easily being six feet away.
There was still plenty they should probably talk about, but at the moment, she could think of nothing that would quite comprehend her feelings easily, no easy shot in that ache going away.
Even so, this still meant something, and she would take this silent moment for as long as she would be able to have it.
And as the first step in this path, she sent her hand in the middle of the gap between them, a sort of way to reach out even if it was not obvious at first glance. She looked away as soon as she did so, not sure on how Mason was even going to react to something like that.
Though, when she did dare to actually turn around and look, she had found that he had done the same thing, seeming to understand the meaning behind her intent.
No other motion done, not another word spoken that night.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
And thank you to the lovely @night-triumphantt for letting me use your detective! Sorry that this took me so long again! I absolutely love both Kiara and Felix, so it was so great to be able to write for them! I hope I did her justice!

Title: Simple Days
Paring: Felix and Kiara (@/night-triumphantt’s detective)
Words: 1.1k
Notes: Set sometime after B3
Prompt: “Are you wearing my shirt?” You mean our shirt?”
The early morning sun had appeared hours ago, it having to already be midday by the time that Kiara had woken up. For someone who normally needed multiple alarms in order to wake up in the morning, it was a massive blessing to be able to have the day off.
She would not have minded spending longer in bed, but she and Felix had made plans to meet up at the warehouse this afternoon. To do what, she was not sure. It seemed to be suggested that they would figure that out when the time came.
Not that she minded that much. Because if she was being honest to herself, they could end up just hanging around the warehouse all evening and she would be perfectly okay with that. Because really, it hardly mattered much with that they did.
What really mattered was just being able to be there with him.
And a plus side of being able to sleep in was that she actually felt more awake and refreshed then she normally did the morning, a massive shame that was not able to do this more often due to the pull of adult responsibilities.
While she was getting dressed as she normally did, deciding not to change her style much from how she normally did, the skinny jeans and a t-shirt with plenty of jewelry, her eyes had gone to one of Felix’s jackets that was laid on top of the chair in her room.
Whether the jacket was left or stolen, well, Kiara would neither confirm or deny, but one thing that she could deny was just how nice it was to be able to wear her boyfriend’s clothes at all. Like a piece of him that was there even when he was not.
Smiling, she put it on, allowing her curly black hair to spill over her back as she did so, it slighter larger than her normal jackets, but cozy, nonetheless. Grabbing her keys and her phone, she made her way out of her apartment, leaving the bright colored walls behind.
Her eyes blinked as they got used to the summer light, different then the light that had been streaming through the windows. But even still, there was a sense of peace, Wayhaven finally able to get the chance to go back to normal, and hopefully for longer this time.
As she made her way to her car, she pulled out her phone to check the messages that she had missed while she was gone from the land of the awake, and sure enough, Felix had.
Felix: Can’t wait to see you today! ❤❤
Kiara could not stop the grin that went across her face at the sight, nor would she ever really want it to, immediately going to write a response.
Kiara: Heading over there now!
With a new sense of urgency, she went straight to her car, and started to slowly pull out and start to make her way to the warehouse, the brightness still not ever having left her face.
~~~
Around twenty minutes later, she had finally arrived at the warehouse, the somewhat dismal sight that she had grown used to, at least from outside appearances. The anticipation had been building during the entire drive, and it only gotten to the height of its tension now.
And what Kiara could not decide what she expected it or not, Felix was also outside, perking up as she pulled in and starting to almost run towards her as she got out of the car.
She met him in a tight hug, his head going to rest on her shoulder as she pulled him closer, chuckling slightly, “Hello to you too”
He laughs as well, moving his head back a bit so he could look at her, his amber eyes gleaming in the sunlight, “Sorry. It’s really good to see you”
“Nothing to be sorry about”, she says almost immediately in response, standing on her tiptoes to place a kiss on his temple, “I’m sure not complaining”
Felix grins in response, his eyes started to clock the jacket, which causes him to start laughing again, “Babe, is that my jacket?”
“Don’t you mean, our jacket?”, she teases, pulling her shoulders back as in a way of showing it off without moving his arms from around her, “I’m pretty sure that’s a part of dating me”
In response, he moves closer, almost whispering in her ear, “Then it will be a part that I take wholeheartedly”, before he moves back with a wink, “And you also look way better than I do in it”
She laughs, giving him something akin to a smirk, “Don’t sell yourself short. You’re still hot as hell”
He returns her smirk, leaning down to press just a peck of a kiss, already leaving her aching for more from the contact, as his hold tightens around her, “So are you”
They continued to stand looking at each other, the eye contact charged between them, it enough to send a jolt down her spine as she stared at the man who had been a constant source of happiness ever since Bravo had arrived those months ago.
“Well, we have a day to get started”, she interrupted after a moment, though she was mixed on saying something at all, “You’re more than free to lead the way”
With a grin, Felix moves to take her hand, his beaming smile indictive that this was role he was perfectly find with happening, starting to lead her inside with a sense of hurry to it.
All that Kiara could do was laugh and follow him, allowing herself to take in every single moment of this. Work would come eventually, and if something again happened like with the maa-alused or Sin, there would be even less time than before.
But for now, this was all that she wanted to think about, and be able to take the picture of and keep as a memory for later.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
But thank you so much to @eivor-varinsdottir for letting me use your detective! Hopefully I did her justice! :)
Title: It Ends with Us
Pairing: Morgan and Alex (@/eivor-varinsdottir’s detective)
Words: 1k
Notes: Set sometime early established relationship!
Prompt: How did I manage to get you?
There was nothing that Alex liked more than a challenge.
Perhaps that came from a lifetime of being doubted, but she had tried to never let that bother her. That just made the fire burn brighter to prove them wrong.
Nothing had been different with Unit Bravo when they had come to Wayhaven nearly a year ago. They had obviously thought (some more than others) that she was easy mark? Too bad, because they were certain to be mistaken.
And it just so happened that the hardest one to figure out was Morgan.
Which just made Alex want to find the answer to crack this impossible case more than ever and keep a grin and a snarky response all through it too.
But over the past few months, something had changed, first deep in her chest that she had ignored, but it was not long at all before there was no way that she could ignore it.
Whether she would have planned it or not, there was something deeper there, something almost completely unspoken, but there. The grey-eyed woman that had caused her life to become incredibly confusing at points was now someone that she never wanted to be without.
It felt like a lifetime ago now that she had thought that being called “sweetheart” was annoying, but now felt special, as if especially for her. Crazy how time could change something just as simple as that. Now she was laid out on the couch in the living space in the warehouse, Morgan tucked behind her as she holds her close.
Nothing more to the contact, just closeness, breathing in just the sheer comfort of being able to sit there together. Every part of her relaxed and unguarded, something that Alex had not felt like she could fully be for a very long time.
But all it took for Morgan’s gentle hand to run over her back to make her feel like she was truly in heaven. Leaving the physical plane far behind, just closing her eyes and taking in the moment.
Anyone that knew her would know that she tended to be more on the outgoing side, always having something to say. And while words did seem to bubble up in her thoughts and she wanted to say them, there was a sort of a fond appreciation for the silence, feeling safe.
With the rest of the Unit off in their rooms or in other parts of the warehouse, it almost felt like they had the whole place to themselves (to her anyway. Morgan had better senses then she did), and Alex was going to take in every moment that was.
Gently, she wormed her way so she could be more tucked into Morgan’s own side, feeling her do the same in response without a word of her own. But no words were really needed at all.
Alex then picked up her partner’s hand, running over it soothingly, before she softly whispered, “This isn’t bad for us, huh?”
She felt her give a small huff of a laugh, “And you mean?”
“Given how we started”, she gives an almost teasing shrug.
Morgan shakes her head, but it seemed that the flickers of amusement in her eyes was something that she did nothing to hide, “Your point, sweetheart?”
“Oh, you know, us chasing each-others tails until we were finally forced to relent”, she says, running her fingers up Morgan’s arm as she says so, her hand coming to rest on her bicep, “That I was the one who captured your heart”
She moves to rest her head on Alex’s neck in response, “Confident, aren’t you?”
With a laugh, she moves her head back a little so that she can fully see her face, seeing that Morgan’s smirk was soft, affectionate, something that she would have never believed she would see just a short time ago. And even still, she was chasing every single one, allowing the picture in her mind to be bottled up and stored for later.
“I’d say I have I pretty good reason to be”, Alex jokes, returning her smirk, “After all, how else would I be able to snare you like this?”
Morgan fully laughs at that, moving forward to press a too fleeting kiss to her neck, the touch making her heart race in a way that was now all so familiar, but the rush was always welcome, having an almost comforting quality to it.
“How did I manage to get you?’, she asks softly as she gazes up at the woman next to her, the words spoken much more tenderly than most words that left her mouth. Almost vulnerable, but she had long come to accept that she was where was belonged.
Not a problem at all for someone that had come to mean so much to her.
“That’s an easy answer”, Morgan says easily, as if she did not have to think much of her answer at all before actually speaking it.
Alex blinks, not fully expecting that, but hoped that her laugh was enough to cover her surprise, “Oh, it is now?”
“Yeah”, she continues casually, “Because it’s you”
Because it’s you
The words catch her so off guard that she pauses, feeling her hands grow slightly looser as her mind continued to repeat them, as if in a desperate attempt to grasp her thoughts around them.
Solve another mystery, even if it was impossible.
But even still, she knew there was nothing to solve about this. Just what Morgan really thought, as simple and as easy as it could seem.
Though Alex still did try to hide the shock with a tease, “Aww, sunshine, didn’t realize you had gotten so soft for me”
Her partner gave her a small smile, but no less genuine as she presses a kiss at the corner of her lip, seeming to not care to dignity her taunt with a response.
With the temptation too great, she brought her lips to Morgan’s, it seeming to decide that the time for talking was over.
I’m so sorry that these have taken me so long to get to! I know things have changed in the months that I have been gone, but I hope you are able to enjoy this anyway! (Here is a bit of an explanation of where I’ve been)
But thank you so much to @celticwoman for letting me use your detective! I hope that I was able to do her justice! Sorry again that this took me so long!
Title: Cold Hands, Warm Heart
Paring: Nate and Juniper (@/celticwoman’s detective)
Words: 1.1k
Notes: Absolutely adore writing a stoic detective with N haha!
Prompt: I haven’t seen her smile like that in ages
Winter had finally come to Wayhaven.
Which meant that it was Juniper’s favorite time of the year. Gentle snow had started to fall, covering the town in layers. Nothing too heavy as of yet, but it was still the beginning of the season. There would be more time for that.
Holliday decorations had even been put up over the past few weeks, giving the atmosphere a cheerful one despite the dreariness winters could sometimes feel.
But in concerns for her, it was the first time in a while that things had slowed down at the station and the Agency. For someone who was so used to spending so much time at work, she could no longer feasibly even make excuses to work late even if she wanted to.
Escorts to her work and back had still been a common occurrence, and it was unfair just how antsy it made her when she had learned who it would be.
Nate
Juniper did not understand it, but it seemed like he was able to reach right to her from the second the doe-like brown eyes had met hers. Though her mind was still many doubts, trying to keep herself ahead of what she could feel slowly unlocking, her heart was different. It wanted nothing more to reach out, even if that risked vulnerability all over again.
Something that she had thought she would never risk again after last time. That was better then that.
But he was such a comforting presence to be around, and despite knowing the was not the most conversational person, she wanted to tell him everything. Truly bare herself to him, even with the fears that came with it.
Though she knew that she was not ready for that, at least not yet. She still needed time to work it out, because once it happened, she wanted it to be right.
Maybe it was almost unfair that Nate made her feel like she was schoolgirl with her first crush, even to the point of trying to straighten her blazer buttons and collar so many times it was almost comical.
Wringing her hands, she finally sat back at her desk, the corners of her eyes vaguely noticing Tina and Verda in conversation outside of her office, but she did not take much more notice to it as she looked over everything just one more time before starting to pack up.
By the time she was buttoning her coat, Nate had just walked in, her hands stopping in their tracks for just a moment before she could feel herself shyly look away, a new habit since she had met him.
But when Juniper looked back, she could see that he was smiling at her, still looking as effortlessly handsome as he always did, even with the catches of a few snowflakes still not yet melted on his coat. And feeling a bit lighter, she walked out to meet him.
She had the greeting right at the tip of her tongue, wishing the agent a good evening, but it felt completely disappeared by now, and from the way that Nate’s smile seemed to grow brighter, it was not something she seemed to mind.
In her distraction, however, she had completely forgotten that her co-workers were not too far away, but luckily for her, at least one of them was willing to break her out of her seeming trance.
“I haven’t seen her smile like that in ages”, she heard Tina whisper to Verda, her attempt at being quiet seeming to be a complete failure.
A light blush formed at the tip of her ears as the realization that she had been smiling at all, a hand going to brush over her black hair in an effort to distract herself.
“Everything alright, June?”, Nate spoke up, breaking into her thoughts, which she did her best to recover and give him a nod in response.
He seemed to take that answer luckily, giving a nod of his own, “I’m ready to leave whenever you are”
With one last glance towards Tina and Verda’s direction, she finished putting on her coat, and went to go stand next to him, seeming to gesture him to go ahead and start walking.
While they exit the station, it did not escape Juniper’s notice that his eyes never left her as they did so, which she tried to ignore the feeling that seemed to fill her chest at the sight.
“Did your day go well?”, he asks easily, conversation always coming to him in a way that it did for her.
She gives a shrug, “Nothing out of the ordinary. You know how quiet it’s been”
“I do”, he replies with a nod, his eyes going to gaze at the decorations of the downtown are the station was located, seeming to take it in with a sort of admiration that she had seen no one else do, “Which is something to be thankful for”
Juniper’s gut response was to mention something about the possibilities that anything that could happen at any time, and break the lull they had found themselves in, but she decided to share slightly in the optimism anyway.
Maybe it was something else Nate was able to pull out of her.
“Wayhaven deserves a break”, she says, “And I’m happy it’s been able to get one”
He gives her another smile, which she could feel her heart pang yet again, “I could not agree more, detective”
It was not until that moment that she had realized how close they had become, their hands brushing against each other as they walked, and while as simple and insignificant she knew that had to be to anyone else, it all of sudden felt like the only action in the world.
With a small gesture in Nate’s eyes, like an ask for permission, he softly took her hand, just barely holding it, enough for her to be able to pull away when she wanted to.
But pulling away was never a thought that crossed her mind.
Even with both of their hands being gloved because of the cold, it was like she could still feel the warmth of his hands anyway. Juniper’s hands were always freezing, but they did not feel that way anymore.
Feeling her heartbeat in her ears, she felt herself lean against just ever so slightly against his side, her hand completing it until a more proper holding of hands, feeling Nate tenderly squeezing her hand in response, already knowing that this was going to be a moment that she was going to replay over and over in her mind once she got back to her apartment.
For now, though, all that she could wish was that the walk back to her car would last forever.
I’m really not sure how to start this, but I really wanted to explain what exactly happened over the past few months and why I’ve been gone.
I’m really really sorry that it happened, and I know that I should have been better at communicating what exactly was happening in my life. I ended up getting really bad migraines that ended up with me having to up my prescription, which took months to actually get worked out. And with several of my family members in the hospital (they are okay now), late Spring of this year was a lot to work through.
And with some pretty major career changes that I worked through over the summer, my fic requests for other people started to really fall through. I wrote some and weren’t happy with it, kind of knowing I wasn’t into it and the writing showed that. I’m not even sure if some of those people are even on tumblr anymore, but I’m going to get them done.
Part of that was my fault for not realizing how busy things were going to get in my life, and with the feeling, I was failing others on this, I basically resigned myself that I wasn’t going to post or for the majority write anything else until those were complete. Which was an awful way of doing it. (Going under the cut for the rest of this)
Welcome back ❤ and happy birthday to the lovely Thea! 💕
Soso! Thank you so much! I have missed seeing your art immensely while I've been gone! I hope you've been doing okay!
And I hope you still like what I wrote for you!
Ah, Liv!!! Thank you so much! I've missed being able to talk to you, I hope you're doing okay!
And I can't wait for you to finally read the requests from months ago! Sorry, it took me so long!
I’m so sorry I let a lot of you down and that it’s been months. I don’t know if the people I did requets from are even in the fandom anymore, but I wanted to do them anyway.
I will still try to get some fic up, and I am completly open to new IF suggestions as well. Please feel free to tell me!
And if there is anything that you want me to see, please tag me in it! Whether you follow me or not. I can often miss things, and I am sure I have over the time I’ve been gone! I’d love to see it!
I made a joke to myself once that I would at least be back by Thea’s birthday, and well, that’s today haha! But the requests are my first priority writting right now, and if you requestsed something and then never got it, please feel free to message me!
I know that I tend to be on the shyer side on here, but feel to free to message me about whatever! Discord works as well if you prefer talking that way! I’m trying to get better at this and make sure it doesn’t happen again
Thank you guys for the support in the past, and I am happy to back!
woke up thinking about F this morning and how underappreciated and undervalued they are. I pity anyone who has not experienced the serotonin benefits that comes from the F route.
I’d like to do something for the F-mancers out there (not sure what yet)
so if you have played the F route, please tell me in the tags:
- who’s your F-mancing detective/oc (do they overlap with other routes)
- do you romance felix or farah
- whether the F route is your main
- whether you choose the carousel or sideshow (or both, but then you missed the fortune telling scene)
- if sideshow, whether you gave F the necklace
- whether you started a relationship in book 2
- whether you kept it a secret (and when, if applicable, you revealed the relationship)
- whether you rescued F or Sanja
I am legit in my feels crying over here at all of the amazing tags! the feelings for F seems pretty universal thus far and I’ve loved getting peeks into all y’all’s relationship wtih F. I’m compiling screenshots and will share those too.
Hey Erin! Can I ask for #28 from the microfic prompts for Pandora and Farah? (And yay! More F routes haha!) :D
hi belle!! thank you for this! (i was so nervous writing about F for you since i love your F writing so much <3) there certainly is ‘something about [Farah]’ :’)
a micro-story, 3-10 sentences. [accepting from this list]
Pandora can’t stop thinking about the conversation they had over breakfast that morning.
Two hours later, she is allegedly filing paperwork and following up on non-urgent claims (anti-fascist graffiti popping up in alleyways off of the main square...which Pandora is fine to let stay), and the words are still swimming in her head, echoing in her ears.
“Don’t doubt how special you are, Pandora. Especially to me.”
Pandora admitting her disbelief that Farah had chosen her (chooses her, each day they’re together) (68 days and counting, the happiest 68 days of her life) had required so much vulnerability and a shocking (and uncharacteristic) amount of honesty.
She is still reeling from it. Not only from the way the words tumbled out of her mouth—unbidden, reactive, messy and raw—but also from the gentle, warm, immediate reassurance that Farah had offered in response, leaving no room for doubt.
The warmth in Pandora’s chest grows as she pictures her girlfriend’s infectious smile. Because despite the lingering sensations of embarrassment, of fragility after she so unthinkingly broke herself open, there’s something about Farah that makes her feel safe.
