She wriggled out of her pants before moving to the button of his jeans, pulling at them roughly to free him from then. Her hand slipped into his boxers grasping him in her hand with a smirk. “Oh I missed this the most…”

“okay. no outs.” patrick smiled, rubbing her hand as she moved closer. feeling delia’s arm around his waist, patrick let out a small sigh. it was comfortable. it felt like home. feeling her arms wrap around his neck, patrick pushed her lightly against the wall, his hands firmly placed on her hips as he felt her lips against his own. “maybe we should get to your place, hm?” he mumbled against her.

Delia sighed loudly, it could’ve almost been mistaken as a moan as she felt her back hit the wall softly. She ignored him as he spoke and let her tongue slip through his lips, she wished more than anything they were somewhere a little more private right now so instead of walking towards her apartment, she pulled him into the alleyway at the side of the bar. It was private enough for her. “You have no idea how many times I thought of you when Tom was fucking me.”

taking delia’s hand, he tugged her up from her chair. “c’mon, then.” soon intertwining his fingers with hers, he started pulling her towards the door of the bar. “you know, this’ your last out. either i come with you or i go home to myself.” patrick smiled as they made it outside, a small smile on his face as he pulled her closer.

Delia shook her head. “I want you to come with me, Pat. I don’t want an out.” She snaked her arm around his waist and she was surprised at how at home she felt, she hadn’t felt this with Tom for a long long time and now she was finally realising that maybe Tom hadn’t been her one, maybe it had been Pat all along. Once they were outside away from everyone in the bar, Delia pulled him closer and wrapped her hands around his neck, she pulled him into a deep kiss, feeling braver than she had all night.

Delia’s eyes twinkled at the thought of them going home together again, it had been so long. Pat had been her first love and sometimes she thought that maybe he was the reason that none of her relationship since then had worked out. “I think you’ll be the one thing to make it better.”

patrick knew that the last thing delia probably needed right now was to be around him. they had split for a reason. although that reason wasn’t all that clear to him anymore, he knew it was for something. so he wasn’t going to be the one to put her through any more pain, he knew that. once the suggestion left delia, patrick swallowed. “only if you promise we won’t do anything you’re gonna regret tomorrow. last thing i wanna do is pile onto what you’ve already got going on.”

Delia couldn’t help but frown a little as he spoke. She wouldn’t ever regret any time spent with him. “I won’t regret anything, Pat. I promise. My mind has never been clearer. I want to take you home.” She pursed her lips together and smiled. “Come on, it won’t be that bad.” She finished her drink and raised an eyebrow with a smirk.

“hey, don’t. don’t leave.” patrick said, probably louder than he should have, as he grabbed a hold of delia’s hand. the last thing he wanted was for her to leave. while she hadn’t been far away over the past few years, she could have been on the other side of the world for all patrick knew. at least that was what it had felt like. “i’ve missed you too. so, don’t leave. this – this is really nice.” he mumbled, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. “unless – unless you really want to of course. i’m not gonna force you to do anything. i just – i don’t want you to leave.” 

Delia wasn’t sure, as much as she wanted to stay she was worried that this was all a terrible idea. The feeling of Pat’s hand around hers made her feel safe, it made her heart flutter in ways that it hadn’t done in a long time and she felt a smile creeping onto her lips. “Fine…unless I leave and you come with me?” It was risky but if the risk paid off then it would absolutely be worth it.

it wasn’t that pat had been lonely. oh no, he had found plenty of people to keep him company over the years. it just – none of them had been delia. and he was okay with that, he had come to terms with what that meant. really. he had. or at least he thought he had. maybe it was just the weed he had smoked on the way over, or the scotch. he didn’t really know. he didn’t really care either. not right now at least. “it’s gonna take a lot for you to change my mind about that, you know.” his jaw clenched shut when he felt her finger along his arm, soon swallowing at the admission that followed. “you got married though.”

She looked down at the drink in her hand. Yeah, she’d gone and got married but clearly that had been a huge mistake, she wondered how her life would’ve been now if she’d picked Patrick and stayed with him all this time, would they be happy? Would she be addicted to drugs? She didn’t have any answers. “I did and look where that got me.” She moved her hand away from him, he clearly wanted nothing to do with her. “You know, I think I’m just going to head home.”

patrick raised his eyebrows at delia’s words. “you’re right. maybe i don’t. maybe you turned into some kinda monster.” he smirked, resting his elbows on the table and leaning against it. he had missed her, and the closer he could get, even if it was just for right now, the better. “i mean, more than you were before, you know. if that’s even possible. ‘cause you used to be pretty terrible.” patrick said sarcastically, a grin now plastered on his face.

Delia couldn’t help but smile with the way he looked at her but she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about where it had all gone wrong, it hadn’t really gone wrong they just grew apart, she felt bad about it at the best of times but she felt even worse now seeing his face. “I’m not the great person you think I am, Pat.” She sighed and ran a finger along his forearm. “I miss you, I miss us.” Did she? Or was she just high and feeling lonely. She didn’t even know.

Franklin sat in his office, filling out some paperwork. Sure, he wasn’t part of the police force, but town PR was his specialty. He leaned back in the leather chair, taking a deep breath. He didn’t know Jack or Mary Beth that well, but what he was particularly worried about was the leak of the police interviews. That had gone viral, the entire world knew about it. He heard a knock at his door, and he lifted his head. “Come in.”

Delia didn’t know why she’d gone to see Franklin. it wasn’t as if she liked him all that much but she needed someone that she knew to talk to, everything that had been happening lately was just getting her down and she thought she needed to get it all off her chest. She had gotten high before she had left her apartment so maybe that’s why she was here now, outside of Franklin’s office. She walked in with a false smile. “Hey, it’s just me. Thought maybe you could use some company and I definitely could use the company.” She sat down and made herself comfortable.

“stop flattering yourself. you’re not that hard to handle, you know.” patrick smirked, soon tilting his head at her. “look, if he couldn’t keep up – that’s on him. you’ll be okay. you always land on your feet. so i wouldn’t be too worried.” he smiled, having another sip of his drink. “either way – tom’s a dick.” a chuckle slipped from him as she shrugged and leaned back in his chair.

“You don’t know me anymore.” It was mostly a joke, but Patrick really didn’t know her that much anymore. The temptation to ask Patrick if he wanted to get out of there was undeniable but she would leave that down to him and she thought there was no way that he would want her anyway.
