kyle and stan almost get married at 26-27 when they’ve been dating since 18 (but the lines blurred way before that) and have been inseparable living together ever since. theyre at the point where everyone in their life thinks its about time and then they break up. kyle moves to new york city in a direct response to a lack of interest in experiencing lifestyles outside of what theyve always known that he perceives stan to have. kyle goes on dates with guys that are smart and successful but ultimately boring which spins kyle into an existential spiral about if he’ll ever be satisfied with his life. stan stays in colorado and gets really into hiking and gets a dog and dates either exclusively men or exclusively women i cant decide. and he works at like, a brewery restaurant or something that kyle would really not be impressed by. to be honest stan is a bit happier than kyle when they’re apart because when they were together it stressed stan out a lot knowing that kyle wasnt happy but still trying not to lose him but now he thinks kyle is much happier without him so hes just trying to move on. meanwhile kyle is like, dying
