Hey so that’s exactly what I was thinking and now I’m giggling and kicking my feet and need to know your thoughts on TTI style🤭
Hey! Thanks for this ask. I'm not an expert on the troubled teen industry by any means, it was honestly just something I thought of as I fell asleep one night. I know it's a sensitive subject and I don't want to be ignorant about it at all, so I took some time to research some more specific details and experiences today but I'm still learning. I could honestly see both Stan and Kyle being sent to one of these programs, given how ignorant the South Park parents are portrayed I could see them being easily sold on this "help" for their sons.
From what I've researched, kids are sent to these facilities for all sorts of reasons, not just extreme cases of misbehavior. For Stan, maybe alcohol consumption, self harm, skipping school, or just overall irritable depression would get him sent there. For Kyle, I could see maybe his anger issues, a period of frequent fighting with his parents, weed use (I headcanon Kyle as a weed smoker, I think it would really work for him and he figures out how to be balanced with it as he matures), or possibly getting caught cheating on a big test or paper.
The environments these kids are put through aren't exactly conducive to romance, but I could see Stan and Kyle forming a sort of alliance for survival. I could see Kyle being hostile at first, especially in group therapy, while Stan is just sad. But they both cry at night. Maybe Stan and Kyle are assigned to share a tent together.
Also, it's a common theme in abusive programs where food is withheld as punishment or just not supplied sufficiently. Which if you subscribe to Kyle having diabetes, would be huge. Maybe Kyle's health is neglected and Stan ends up saving his life by catching someone's attention or giving him his own food. I think they would end up getting together after the experience rather than during, remaining in contact through email and social media while they go through their own healing stages, finding that it's hard not having anyone around that understands what they went through. In adulthood, when they're both in a more stable place, that's when their romance begins.
Anyways I'd loveeeee to hear more of your thoughts on this too! Even/especially if they're different from mine. Thanks for asking and pushing me to learn more about the subject. (Also can I ask what exactly the style carry is? is it just Stan carrying Kyle? because I live for that in this context for sure >u<)
People fail to understand that this yaoi shit is life or death
