Mateo is a *Very* hands on teacher, he gives his students opportunities to spar with him to get a feel for what it's like to fight a seasoned huntsman as well as feedback on where they can improve as well as their weaknesses. He'll give feedback during the fight but most of it is saved for after as well as a few pointers here and there.

He might not be the most approachable person but he's still a teacher, he'll be there for his students and he's definitely more apt to help them outside of class if they actually want to learn and grow, if not he'll be your harshest critic and make you put the effort in because he doesn't teach people who don't want to learn.

He tilted his head to the side as he watched her. Another successful match- however there were things she needed to work on...but it's what he was there for.

"You're quick to act on your anger, in an actual fight if that happens your enemy can catch that and use it against you." He gently hit her on the head with the end of his halberd. "If that happens- you could get disarmed, hurt, or worse- killed, aura or not they won't hold back on you. I know you have your maiden powers and you need to use them when you're desperate...but don't use it as a crutch for your actual ability." A pause as he took another drink of water.
