Hello! I figured I needed to update the one I threw together back in October when I just got into the hobby and didn't really know what I was doing yet, as well as pin it so I could find the god damn thing.

Starwars pretty much any erra, though I do have a soft spot for prequal era. pretty open to shipping just about anything, and also like my starwars without shipping as well. I don't actually care for Anakin all that much, but do not like Kylo Ren at all. Avatar the Last Airbender: Growing up me and my sisters watched this show every summer, and this year it looks to have extended to me reading fanfic for it this summer. I love the group getting to just be kids, and I love stuff that explores the reality of being child soldiers. shipwise pretty open to anything, but I have recently really been enjoying Sokka/Zuko

Danny Phantom Really love crossovers here, really love Dani and fics exploring the connections between her and Danny

The Locked Tomb love me a good river bubble AU

Murderbot Diaries I don't know that there's anything I don't like here

Song of the Lioness I adore Alana so much. This was a favorite book series of mine growing up and considering that my family really should not have been as shocked as they were when I came out as nonbinary

The Cosmere I have read all the books, so seriously go anywhere with it. My favorite ships are Addolin/Shallan/Kaladin, Renarin/Rlain, Yumi/Nikaro, and I want more Tress just being a pirate

Project Hail Mary to be honest, I haven't read any fic for this yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed both the book and the movie, and generally in fandoms where there's a lot of podficers I tend to find myself also liking the fics/fandom, so like, if this is your cup of tea, go for it

Deep Space Discounts This fandom is to small for me to be picky, the source material is only 30 minutes long on youtube, even if you don't make anything from this, please go watch it, its literally so good!

Unprepared Casters As of writing this, I have only listened to up to arc 12 (but I am rapidly going through the rest while at work), so far my favorite arcs are Life of a Party, and arc 11 off the Rails

General Likes:

Time travel, wing fics, found family, hurt/comfort, arranged marriage, fake relationships, enemies to friends to lovers, angst, fluff, urban fantasy AU's, crossovers, anytime they are on a pirate ship, be it in the ocean or space (bonus for treasure planet type setting). Also chaos gremlins. Love a good chaos gremlin

Dislikes:

Generally, a no on explicit stuff, tho if there is more plot then that I am ok with it. hard no to dub/non-con/rape, incest, or de-aging (if a person timetravels from the future to there past body then that's totally fine, but if they are just de-aged for whatever reason I don't really enjoy that) also don't really like omega verse stuff, or pregnancy, but other then that I'm pretty much down for whatever.

yes! I do Voice Team and Voice Team Mystery Box every year, but my favorites are probably ITPE and summer podfic swap. I just really like makin gifts for people

30. What is your most and least favorite part of podficcing?

my favorite part is probably recording, and my least favorite part is editing. I like editing other peoples stuff, but I dont like editing my stuff, cause then I have to listen to my voice to do it, and I can get really nitpicky with myself. but I do really like editing other peoples works

2. Briefly describe your podficcing process

uhhhhhh, find a fic to pod, ask for permission, start recording. if I need to retake a line or anything, I snap, restart the line, then keep going, if there are any audio effects I wanna add like someone talking on the phone Ill snap twice at the start of it, then snap twice at the end of it. Then, for editing, I'll visually scan through it, fix any of the one snap parts, add the effects to the 2 snap parts and remove all the snaps. thats about it

31. On average, how much podfic do you make in a week/month/year?

vastly changes month to month. My hobby is collecting hobbies, and sometimes making podfic isn't up on the roster for that month

63. Are there any of your previous podfics you wish you could remake?

If I were to remake anything, Id redo the first 5 chapters of Better Halves and Other Such Falshoods cause that was when I was figuring out how to podfic and stuff. I don't think I ever will actually redo it tho

32. How much time do you spend on editing? Have you/would you ever post something unedited?

I would die if I posted something unedited, so no to that part of the question.

I used to spend a lot more time editing, but ever since I swaped to the visual method with me snapping every time I flub or re-record a bit, its cut down on my editing time alot.

45. What is your goal when making a podfic?

Honestly, just to create something, and hopefully give someone else something to listen to

I ran into a fic that was written as a transcript of a voice recording thing, and was like, this demands to be listened to, so I figured out how to record, started recording and posting another fic, finally got permission on that first fic, and have yet to post it despite most of it being done and ready to go

I think less individual podfics, but more other podficers have got me into new fandoms. would not have gotten into Murderbot if not for the podficers in that space

Probably explicit stuff, not out of a dislike, but more so cause my little sister listens to my stuff, and yeah, she's 22 now, but that's still my little sister, so I try to avoid recording explicit stuff

if I really enjoyed something, I bookmark it, and that serves as my informal to podfic list (unfortunately, I tend to read long stuff, so most of that list is long, and will take me a while to do). For events and stuff i'll limit the word count and filter by those who have blanket permission

Podficcers and Podfic Enthusiasts: Voiceteam Signups Are Open!

Voiceteam sign-ups are open!

Voiceteam is a Discord-based annual event for the podfic community. Players are grouped into teams of around a dozen players each. Then across three week-long rounds in May, players can earn points for their team by making voice-based or voice-adjacent creations that fulfill different challenges. Each round begins with ten new challenges being revealed, and then teams are set loose to strategize, create, earn points, and have fun!
