After Steve Rogers found out that you were a mermaid, he also discovered the fact that you had powers as well. You thought that if Steve knew your biggest secret, you might as well show him the powers that you also had from being a mermaid. He thought that it was really cool, and fell in love with you even more.

Steve always claimed that you were his hero. You never really thought that you were much of a hero because outside of being a normal human being, you were a mermaid. You didn't really know what a mermaid did except just swim around with the fish.

Every weekend Steve would take you out on a date. This weekend, he didn't tell you what the plan was. All he said was to meet at a certain location at a certain time. You did as he said and met at the bridge he instructed you to meet at.

As you arrived, you saw that there were candles lit all along the wall of the bridge. It was romantic. You already knew what was going to happen. You started making your way onto the bridge, and you finally noticed Steve in the middle of the bridge. He had a bright smile on and held a bouquet of flowers.

"You look beautiful [Y/N]."

"You don't look too bad yourself Steve," You teased flirtatiously. You walked up to him and he handed you the flowers. "Thanks Steve. This is a cute date."

Steve nodded and placed a small kiss on your nose. He turned and moved a few candles off the bridge. He assisted you onto the bridge and you sat down on the edge with your legs dangling off the edge. Steve soon followed and sat beside you, his legs dangling off the edge as well. You laid your head on his shoulder as you looked out into the sunset.

"I love you [Y/N]," Steve softly whispered, laying his head against yours. You smiled. "I hope you know that I always will."

"I'll always love you too Steve."

All of a sudden, you heard a faint noise. You looked around, but couldn't quite tell where it was coming from. You looked down, gasping at the sight of a little boy struggling to stay above the water. The water was moving quick below the bridge. You looked over at Steve who seemed unaware of the situation.

You spun around and got off the bridge. Steve raised an eyebrow, asking what you were doing. You didn't respond and jumped over the edge of the bridge. Steve watched you fall from the high ledge. You did a few flips in the air before finding the right position. You gracefully dove into the water.

You immediately transformed in the water. You knew that there was a huge waterfall at the end of the river. As you were swimming to look for the boy, you noticed that the water was moving at a lot faster rate than you expected. You just hoped that the little boy didn't hit his head on a rock or anything.

You swam to the top, still being taken by the river toward the large water fall. You scanned the area, instantly noticing the little boy. He was gasping for air, but a large wave came and swallowed him back up. You nodded and dove back into the water. You used all the strength of your mermaid tail to swim to the little boy. As you got to him, you saw that he was passed out.

You gripped onto his body and closed your eyes. It was time for you to use your powers. As you held onto the child, you used your free arm to make the movements that was required to move the water. You soon started to feel yourself get elevated out of the water. Steve watched in awe from above as he saw the water practically carry you and a little boy out of the water.

You delicately placed you and the little boy onto the land. The water returned to the river and you looked over at the child. He still didn't seem like he was breathing. You dragged yourself over to him since your legs haven't returned yet. An idea soon came to your mind. You wondered if you could get you and the little boy out of the water, you thought you could get the water out of the little boy's lungs.

You placed your hand on his chest and closed your eyes once more. Your eyebrows furrowed as you focused. You finally found the correct mindset and the little boy suddenly sat up, spitting out the extra water that was stuck in his lungs. You smiled as you saw that he was breathing again.

"Wh-What happened?" The little boy coughed, looking over at you. Luckily, your legs were able to return before he saw you as a mermaid. "W-Who are you?"

"She's the woman who saved your life," A voice said. You turned around, seeing that Steve had arrived to the scene. "Her name is [Y/N]."

"You saved me?" The little boy asked, his face lighting up with a smile. "You're my hero!"

The little boy threw himself and hugged you tightly. You chuckled as you hugged him back. You looked up at Steve who had a genuine smile on his face as he saw the happiness you brought to the little boy. It was another thing Steve loved about you, you wouldn't hesitate to help someone in need. He was glad that you had another person think that you were their hero. He just hoped that you always knew that Steve was always going to be your number one supporter.

You are his hero anyways.

It was hard to date Bucky behind your brother's back.

It started out pretty easy, but once Sam started noticing that your absence became more frequent, lying to him got more difficult. Sam wasn't aware of who the man was, but he knew there was at least someone you were sneaking out to meet with every time.

In a sense, Sam knew that you were a grown woman. He just always viewed you as his baby sister. No matter how old you get, you'll always be his little sister. He just hopes that when you find a man, it's going to be the right man. You knew the moment you met Bucky Barnes, he was the right man to be in a relationship with.

When Bucky asked you out, the date went extremely well. A simple movie over at his place was a great way to make the sparks fly between you two. Bucky continued to ask you out, and before you knew it, you and Bucky officially started dating. It didn't mean that you were committed to each other quite yet, but Bucky definitely wanted to make it official.

He remembers all the late nights he spent with you. You even confessed one night how you felt about commitment. You were always afraid of commitment, but Bucky made you realize that maybe you were just afraid of committing to the wrong person. It was at the moment you knew, you were in love.

Bucky was head over heels for you. He wanted to tell the entire world that he loved you. It was painful for him not being able to do so. He knew that eventually one day Sam was going to find out, he just didn't know when.

"The regular please," Sam ordered, tapping the counter twice with his hand. The bartender nodded. He looked over at you. "You happy I dragged you to this party?"

"I'm not much of a nightclub person," You responded, looking around at the people mingling with one another. "I just would rather be at home right now."

"I would want to be home too," The familiar husky voice of your lover sounded from behind you. You turned around and smiled at the sight of Bucky arriving to the conversation. "You look nice tonight [Y/N]."

"That's my sister you're talkin' to bud," Sam addressed sternly. Bucky rolled his eyes, as well as you. "Now, I'm going to head to the restroom real quick. I don't want to see no funny business happening between you two."

"There's nothing going between us Sam," You easily lied, crossing your arms. "Now go and do your business."

Sam turned to head the other way, but was immediately stopped by a woman you didn't recognize. She started to talk to him and Sam started talking back. Or in your eyes, he was flirting. You scoffed. So much for Sam using the bathroom. You turned your attention back to Bucky who was staring at you in admiration.

"What do you say we share a dance out on the dance floor?"

You nodded with a shy smile. Bucky put out his hand which you gracefully took. He dragged you into the large crowd of people. The music was blaring so loudly, you couldn't hear a word that Bucky was saying. He started to slowly dance to the beat of the song.

You went from bopping to the music to full on dancing. You didn't care what you looked like, and that's what Bucky loved about you. You weren't afraid to be who you were. A song that both you and Bucky knew soon came on and you both lost your minds. You two started screaming at the top of your lungs the lyrics of the song.

Once the song came to an end, your heart was racing so fast, you felt like you were going to pass out. You called it quits and started making your way out of the crowd of dancing people. Bucky followed behind you and back to the counter where there were glasses of water awaiting for anyone who wanted some.

You took a glass and gulped it down. Bucky did the exact same thing, wiping the water off his lips afterwards. He opened his mouth to talk to you, but an unfamiliar gruff voice sounded off not too far from you.

"Hey pretty girl!" A unrecognizable voice shouted. You turned your head to see a stranger waving at you. "You had quite the moves out on the dance floor!"

"Thank you!"

"Come here, I want to show you something!"

You walked up to the man as he pulled out his phone. Bucky stayed back and leaned against the counter, keeping his suspicious glare on the man. You leaned in close to the phone to see the video that the man was showing you. You exploded with laughter at the end of it. The man laughed just as hard as you did.

Bucky caught the look that the man gave you after laughing. His muscles tightened as he saw that the way he looked at you was the way he looked at you. Bucky clenched his jaw, lowering his eyes from the scene. He knew that he shouldn't say anything, but he really wanted to punch that man's face.

He restrained himself from tackling the man down to the ground. Now that would cause a scene. He glanced to the side and saw that Sam was still unaware about the fact that there was a random guy practically hitting on you. Bucky fell silent as he saw you smiling an awful lot with a conversation you were having with him.

Bucky rolled his eyes. He was being dumb. He trusted you. He knew that you wouldn't do anything to help the man pursue you. The longer he watched you and the stranger, his thoughts started turning on him. What if you did? What if you left the club with the man, completely ghosting him? He didn't like those thoughts at all.

Bucky perked up as he saw that the man was getting exceedingly close to you. Shoulder to shoulder close.

"That's it," Bucky muttered, hoisting himself off the counter. He briskly walked up to you and the man. He grabbed the man's shoulder and shoved him away from you. "You better stay the hell away from my girlfriend buddy."

"Your girlfriend?" He asked, making you softly smile. "Man, she's way out of your league. What makes you think she'll stay with someone like you?"

Bucky licked his lips, attempting to contain composure. He turned around to walk away, but the man said one last comment that set Bucky off. He whipped around and grabbed him by the collar, which immediately switched the man's attitude.

"Whoa whoa whoa hold on!!!" The man shrieked, his voice trembling from fear. "It's a set up! IT'S A SETUP!!!"

Bucky's hands immediately fell from holding onto the man. He rotated his blue eyes to meet with yours. You were nodding in agreement. Bucky turned to see that Sam was watching too.

"Was Sam in on it too?"

"He was the one who set it up," You confessed. You patted the man on the shoulder. "This is Ayden. He's a good friend of me and Sam."

Bucky sighed. "So does that mean Sam knows?"

"I might have accidentally exposed it a while ago."

"But that's why I put this together," Sam chimed in, walking up to Bucky. He put his arm him. "I wanted to see your reaction if another man were to hit on my sister."

"You were jealous."

"I wasn't jealous," Bucky instantly denied, shaking his head at your comment. You smirked. "I don't get jealous."

"Bro, you were about to send me to heaven, what do you mean you weren't jealous?"

"I saw the way you looked at them Bucky," Sam pointed out, crossing his arms. "You were jealous."

"Fine, maybe I was a little jealous," Bucky admitted, throwing his hands up. "But that's only because I don't like seeing other men flirting with my girl."

"Speaking of, you did use that word when you approached us Bucky," You reminded, sliding your hands into his hands. Sam sighed, looking away. He didn't want to see you two kiss. "Does that mean you feel the same way? Do you want to get serious?"

"I always have [Y/N]. But, only when you're ready too."

You leaned in and placed a gentle kiss upon his lips. Bucky smiled through the kiss as he deepened it. You finally broke apart and grinned up at him.

"Does that answer your question?"

"Yes, yes it does."

Prom night finally arrived.

In the perfect world, you would just be able to have your date pick you up at your house, but Bucky Barnes was the only burden that was preventing that scenario to play out that way. Bucky has been overprotective of you ever since you decided to team up with him and Sam.

Sam cared about you just the same, but he allowed you to do things normal teenage girls would do, like dating. Gosh, dating was something that Bucky didn't even want you to experience period. He has had bad relationships in the past, and he didn't want to put you through the heartache like he had to go through.

Although you try to convince Bucky that your life is nothing like his life, Bucky still made it clear that he didn't want you anywhere near any boy. At first, you thought it was sweet how Bucky was overprotective, but one time, you went on a date with one of your guy friends and Bucky followed you.

Not only did it seem creepy that he was practically stalking your date with your buddy, but Bucky even interjected with the date when he saw the one milkshake and two straws trick that your friend was about to pull off at the restaurant he took you to. You didn't talk to Bucky for a straight week after that experience.

You eventually forgave him and knew that he was just being protective because he loved you. Even thought you forgave him, it also taught you the lesson that you were never going to let him know that you were going on a date ever again.

"What do you mean I can't come pick you up at your house?" Your date to prom asked through the phone. "Isn't that like the number one thing when it comes to proper date etiquette?"

"Yeah, well the thing is, my father doesn't know that I'm going to prom," You explained, twirling the cord of the wall phone. "You can meet me at the end of my street though. How about that?"

He didn't respond but later released a long sigh. He went with it and you thanked him. You hung up the phone and took in a deep breath before leaving your bedroom. You sucked at lying to Bucky. He had those certain eyes that made you want to tell him the truth. Which was exactly why you were planning on not looking him in the eyes during the deception.

You left your bedroom, dressed from head to toe. You walked through the living room, noticing that Bucky wasn't present. A small smile spread across your lips. Maybe you were going to luck out for the night. You didn't dwell on it for too long and picked up your pace toward the door.

You swung the door open, only to unexpedectly run into Bucky on the other side. He immediately noticed your attire, and his glare made you say a little prayer in your heart that he wouldn't kill you.

"Oh, hi Buck," You nervously greeted, trying to keep calm. "Bye Buck."

You tried to brush past him, but Bucky quickly gripped onto your shoulder and forced you to walk backwards back into the house. You went with it, attempting to keep your cool. You knew that if you got too nervous you would end up exposing the truth.

Bucky let you go and slammed the door behind him once you both were back inside.

"No way in hell am I letting you leave the house looking like that [Y/N]," Bucky sternly stated. You rolled your eyes. "Why are you even dressed like that in the first place?"

"I'm meeting my friends that are girls," You lied, lowering your eyes to the floor. In a sense, it was sort of truthful. There were going to be girls in your group to the dance. "Please let me go have a night of fun with them Bucky, I promise I won't do anything to attract attention from boys."

Now that you were done talking, you slowly raised your eyes to meet his worried ocean blue eyes. It didn't seem too likely he would say what you wanted to say.

"Fine," Bucky breathed, taking you by surprise. "But don't do anything stupid tonight, you hear me kid?"

You squealed in delight. You gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before rushing out the door, shouting your gratitude to him. Bucky crossed his arms, shaking his head. He hoped that he wouldn't regret his decision.

Bucky didn't where you were.

It was past midnight and you weren't home. He has called you a thousand times, yet, you never answered. He didn't know whether to be mad or worried. Heck, he was both. He knew that he didn't tell you to be home at a certain time, but midnight should just be the cutoff regardless of the situation.

As he was pacing around the living room, awaiting for his phone to light up with your name, the front door flew open. Bucky snapped his eyes at the door, watching you storm inside.

"[Y/N]!" Bucky shouted, anger dripping from his voice. You ignored him, stomping your way to your bedroom. "[Y/N]! You better have a good damn reason why—[Y/N]! I'M TALKING TO YOU!"

Ignored again, Bucky huffed in irritation as you disappeared from his line of sight. You've never acted that way to him before. Bucky perked up as he heard your bedroom door slam shut. He raised his eyebrows. Instead of being angry, Bucky had to find out what was going on.

Bucky made his way to your bedroom and opened it, seeing you face downed on your bed. His heart softened as he heard muffled crying coming from you.

"[Y/N]? Look, I'm sorry I yelled at you like that," Bucky apologized, approaching you. He sat down beside you. You adjusted your position, keeping your face hidden from him. "What happened [Y/N]? Are you okay?"

You responded, but your voice was muffled from the sheets. Bucky poked you, telling you to look at him and tell him what was wrong. You grunted in refusal, but after a few seconds of silence, you finally gave in. You raised your head up to look at Bucky, revealing the dark purple ring that was around your right eye.

"[Y/N], where the hell did—"

"I went to prom tonight Bucky," You interrupted, lowering your head in shame. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth when I left. I was just afraid it was going to end up like the last date I went on."

"Your prom date gave you that black eye?"

You fell silent. The painful memory of him giving you that black eye flashed through your mind, setting off the tears again. Bucky inhaled deeply, trying to keep calm. As much as he wanted to kill your prom date, his threats probably wasn't what you wanted to hear at the moment.

"I really liked him Bucky," You sobbed, soon to be embraced by Bucky. You buried your face into his chest. "I shouldn't have been so naïve. He was such a douchebag. You were right Bucky. Boys suck. I'm never going to go on a date ever again."

"It's going to be okay [Y/N]," Bucky reassured, rubbing your back. "I'm sorry that you had a bad experience tonight with your prom date. I'll make him regret ever laying a hand on you."

"He's not worth it Bucky," You responded, removing yourself from Bucky's embrace. "He'll get what he deserves. I don't know how, but I'm sure he will."

"What was his name?"

"I'm not going to tell you Bucky," You replied, your spirits gradually rising at Bucky's protectiveness kicking. "You'll track him down if I tell you."

"No I won't," Bucky lied, not even trying to make it believable. He got a small chuckle out of you. Bucky offered you a small smile and returned to holding you. "I'm sorry that your prom date was such a douchebag, but I hope you know that I still love you, and frankly, that's all that matters."

"I know you do," You sighed, hugging Bucky back. You closed your eyes, savoring the moment. You really needed the comfort. "I love you too Bucky."

"Now, how about we stay up all night with the movie marathon of you know what?"

You cracked a side smile. "Sure. I'd love that."

When you first met Peter, you knew you two would be best friends. You two were the dynamic duo. You were so intimately close to him, he shared his biggest secret to you. You always thought Peter was heroic, but when you discovered that he was an actual superhero, it was awesome.

Peter always claimed that you were a great escape from his superhero schedule. Whenever you two were together, it was as if he was a normal teenage boy. What you weren't aware of though was that he had a major crush on you. He thought you didn't know, but knowing Peter, he's pretty bad at hiding things.

You knew that Peter liked you, and the feelings were mutual, but you just didn't know how to express it the correct way. Currently, it was finals week at Midtown High School and you were overwhelmed with the textbooks, papers and relearning everything from the very beginning of the year.

Peter claimed that you knew what to do. You've been studying for the final exam ever since the beginning of the year. Yet, you still felt like you couldn't do it. You didn't feel prepared. Peter has been your study partner for the past study dates, and even he believed that you were going to ace the exam.

It was difficult for you to convince yourself that you were going to do well. On the days that you didn't study with Peter, you would study alone in your bedroom. Peter was concerned because he didn't want you to overwork yourself. He has seen you when you overwork yourself before, and he hated seeing you so run down.

Peter decided to visit you in your bedroom this morning, and no surprise, Peter found you on your bed with papers scattered all around you.

"Y/N, I have two tickets to go see Volunteer Of Stardust tonight at the movie theaters," Peter announced, waving the tickets in the air. He sighed as he didn't see you look up. "Come on Y/N. We've been wanting to see this movie ever since it got released."

"I know Pete, but I have things to do," You commented, swinging your eyes up to see his disappointed face. "I'm sorry but maybe we can see it next week. You can get Ned to go with you. I'm sure he'll want to go."

"I don't want to go with Ned," Peter claimed. "I want to go see the movie with you Y/N."

"That's sweet but—"

"When will you take a break?"

"After I take the exam."

"Whatever," Peter sighed, opening your bedroom door back open. "I'll be at my place if you need me."

Peter slammed the door behind him, giving you the impression that he was mad. You stared at the door, wondering if you needed to catch him before he left. You looked back at your stuff. You had to admit, you have been studying for a long time. The movie was something that you wanted to go see with Peter for a long time.

You huffed in defeat as you closed your laptop and move the papers aside as you slid off of your bed. Luckily for you, Peter's place was in walking length from your home. You left your bedroom and went outside to see if his car was still present. As you turned the corner to the driveway, you were immediately pelted by a nerf dart.

"What the—"

"GET HER!!!"

You shrieked in fear as you felt what felt like a thousand nerf darts hit you. You soon felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned to see Peter holding two nerf guns.

"Here take one!" Peter shouted, tossing you a nerf gun. Surprisingly, you caught it. "Let's destroy them!"

You cocked the gun with a smile. You had forgotten how much you loved nerf gun fighting with Peter was. You ran to take cover from the darts. You kept peeking out of the bush and started shooting everyone else, except for Peter. The people that you hit dramatically fell to the ground and acted like they were out.

After a while, it was down to only you and Peter. You got out of your spot and saw him slowly walking up to you. His gun was facing you, so you pointed yours at him.

"There can only be one Y/N," Peter called out, gripping tighter onto his gun. "And it's going to be me."

You shot the first dart but Peter was quick and dodged it. He ended up shooting his shot and got you straight in the face. As the dart fell to the ground, you groaned in frustration. You dropped the gun and Peter just laughed. He put his gun down and walked up to you.

"I win."

"Yeah yeah I know," You replied with a smile. "That was fun though. Thanks Peter."

"You know what else would be fun?" Peter asked, slowly making his two tickets visible again. You rolled your eyes with a grin. "Volunteer of Stardust?"

"I'm down. Let's do it Peter."

"YES!" Peter screeched in joy, engulfing you in a tight hug. You laughed as he picked you up off the ground. "WOOHOO!!!"

"It hasn't even been an hour yet big brother," You addressed with an eyeroll. "The house isn't burned down."

"Alright, well keep it that little sis," Sam responded from the other side of the phone. "Sarah and her kids and I miss you. We'll see you tomorrow morning, alright?"

"Sounds good. Be safe, all of you. Love you guys."

Sam agree before hanging up the phone. You put down the phone and dropped onto the sofa in front of the television. You turned it on, only to be interrupted by three loud knocks coming from the door. You stood up from the couch and approached the front door, noticing that the doorknob was jiggling.

You sighed. You knew who it was. You gripped onto the knob and swung the door open, smiling at Sam's buddy.

"Hi Bucky," You greeted with a warm smile. Bucky returned the warm smile. "Do you need something?"

"Well, I heard that Sam, Sarah and her little boys are gone for the day," Bucky stated, stepping into your house. You stepped to side and closed the door behind him. "So I decided to give you some company for the night."

"Thanks for the thought but—"

"Do you want to have a movie night or something?" Bucky asked, interrupting your polite way of kicking him out. He swung his noticeably gentle brown eyes to meet with yours. You restrained your words. You couldn't say no to that face. "Or we can just sit and chat."

"Why don't we just put on a movie we've both seen?" You suggested, walking over to the remote that controlled the television. "And while the movie plays, we can just make fun of it together."

"Sounds like a plan Y/N."

Bucky walked up to you and snatched the remote out of your possession. You chuckled at his attempt of flirting with you. You've always liked Bucky, ever since Sam introduced him to you. You never had the courage to tell him though. If Sam found out that you liked Bucky, you would most likely never see Bucky ever again.

For that exact reason, you kept it a secret that you had a crush on Bucky.

"How about we go with Visitor Of The Future?"

"YES! I love that one. It's so cheesy."

Bucky sat on the couch and patted the spot that was beside him, implying that you'd sit next to him. You blushed a little bit, but tried not to make it too obvious while you walked over to him. You sat down beside him, and the moment you did, Bucky purposefully moved closer.

Bucky casually put his arm around you, immediately setting off your fight or flight response. Flight. Flight. Flight.

"I um, I need to use the bathroom real quick," You excused quickly, briskly standing up from the couch. "I'll be super fast."

You rushed off, leaving Bucky in confusion. He didn't mean to scare you off like that. He paused the movie as he heard the bathroom door slam shut. As for you, you were going to splash yourself with some water, but instead you saw that the bathtub was filling up with water.

"Ugh, AJ," You muttered, walking up to the almost full bathtub. AJ always kept the water running in the bathtub. "When will he learn?"

As you leaned over to shut the water off, you didn't realize that there was a bottle of bubble bath substance on the edge. You paused as you heard something plunge into the water. You looked down, gasping at the sight of a bunch of bubbles forming straight away. It began to overflow out of the bath instantaneously.

"Oh crap!" You exclaimed, making an effort to put the bubbles back into the bathtub, but it just kept coming. You snapped your head at the door as you heard Bucky calling your name. He needed assistance with the television. "I'll be right out Bucky!"

You returned your attention to the disaster that you happening right in front of your eyes. It started from spilling out of the bathtub to slowly making its bubbly way to the door. You didn't wait another moment and raced out of the bathroom, slamming the door speedily.

You turned around, taking a deep breath. You brushed off the bubbles that got onto you and started making your way back into the living room. You went through a script on what to say when you saw Bucky, but the second he was in your line of sight, your mind went blank.

"Oh, there you are Y/N," Bucky noticed, standing up from the couch. He approached you, showing you the remote. "I can't seem to figure out how to get the back off. It's not working with the television. I think it's out of batteries."

"You just have to smack it a couple of times," You explained, taking the remote from Bucky. You did as you said and gave it a few smacks. "Now try it out."

"Actually, can you try it out?" Bucky asked, brushing past you. Your eyes shot wide open as you saw him go the direction of the bathroom. "I have to use the bath—"

"NO!" You shrieked, making Bucky come to a complete halt. He turned to look at you, lines forming between his eyebrows. "I-I mean, I need to use it."

"Weren't you just in there though?"

"Yes but I uh...I left my...My uh phone! Yes! My phone!" You declared, rushing in front of Bucky. You forcefully turned him around and shoved him back toward the living room. "My phone is in the bathroom and I need to go get it."

Bucky didn't go and sit back down, but just stood there and watched you as you walked around the corner to the bathroom. You audibly wheezed in worry as you saw that the bubbles were gradually creeping out from below the door. The bubbles have gotten completely out of hand.

"Alright Y/N, I don't know what you're hiding, but you're being real suspicious," Bucky accused. Your heart began racing as you heard his footsteps begin to make its way toward your direction. There was no way you could hide it anymore. "You know how I don't like secrets."

You whipped around and saw Bucky making his way around the corner. You didn't even delay on thinking about it and lunged at Bucky, crashing your lips onto his. Bucky's eyes fluttered shut as you pushed him up against the wall. Bucky kissed you back, placing his hands softly on your waist.

As you two broke apart, you were so distracted about the fact that you actually went through with kissing him, you forgot about the bubbles. Bucky was about to speak, but his eyes noticed the activity that was happening over your shoulder.

"Bubbles?"

You perked up, immediately remembering the thing that you were trying to hide from Bucky. You turned around to see that the bubbles have gotten worse. You looked over at Bucky who seemed more confused than angry.

"It's a long story."

"Well, you can tell me while we clean this up. We have to have this gone before Sam gets home and kills us," Bucky advised, walking up to the door. He opened it up, jumping back as the wave of bubbles came pouring out. "Well...This is going to be fun."

Bucky was pissed.

His voice was so loud, so thunderous, that you couldn’t concentrate on what he was saying. He truly became a different person. It ended in him huffing angrily and storming off completely infuriated. You felt your heart sink to the bottom of your stomach.

You felt horrible. This entire mission, you were trying to prove yourself to Bucky. You wanted to show him that you were worthy enough to be his partner for future missions, but after this mistake, that didn't seem too likely.

Bucky was stomping his way down the dirt road. You hadn't moved from your spot. You thought that he was going to stop and wait, but he just kept walking. It was as if he acted like he didn't want to turn back. It seemed like he wanted to leave you there, like he didn't give a single care in the world for you at the moment.

You inhaled deeply, knowing that you were going to regret this next move, but you had to let Bucky know you were sorry. You started to jog up to Bucky, calling out his name, but he didn't respond. You finally caught up to him, but his pace started to pick up.

"Bucky please, hear me out—"

"Shut up Y/N," Bucky interrupted, his tone of voice sounding like your father after an argument with your mother. In other words, resentful. "Don't talk to me right now."

"Bucky, I understand that I messed up," You acknowledged, finally matching his speed of walking. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. I know that you trusted me, but I promise you that I'm never going to do that again."

No response. Bucky didn't even look at you. You noticed that he was clenching his jaw, which was something he would do when he was extremely peeved.

"Buck—"

"Y/N SHUT THE HELL UP!" Bucky fumed, taking you by surprise. He yelled so loud, it even echoed through the sky. Bucky took a deep breath before continuing. "You don't know a damn thing about anything that this mission required. If it wasn't for you being so ignorant with the keys, we wouldn't be in this situation."

"I understand but—"

"No you don't Y/N," Bucky cut off, shaking his head. "I knew that choosing a stupid teenager as my partner for this mission was a mistake. So overall, I feel like this is practically my fault for making such a dumb choice."

Ouch. You had to admit, that last comment was quite a stinger. You tried to convince yourself that Bucky was just insulting you because of the heat of the moment. He was mad, therefore he was making mad accusations. After that remark, you just kept your mouth shut and walked quietly beside Bucky. Normally you don't overthink things, but you looked up to Bucky, and hearing those words come out made you exaggerate every little word.

He hated you, and that made you sad.

"Here it is!" The man exclaimed, opening the door into the apartment room. You entered the room behind Bucky. "I hope you guys enjoy your stay, and I'll see you two in the morning."

"Thanks Braden," Bucky thanked gratefully. "I'll see you in the morning."

"Don't you mean we'll see him in the morning?" You asked, trying to get Bucky to talk to you, but he still ignored you and brushed past you to the bathroom. "Oh, come on Buck."

Braden bid his farewells and left the room. You walked up to your bed and plopped down onto it. You soon heard the bathroom door open and you instantly sat up. You looked over at Bucky who avoided your gaze and walked to his bed. He sat down and removed his shoes.

"Will you talk to me yet Bucky?" You implored, still receiving nothing. It was as if you were a ghost to him. He was treating you like you didn't even exist. "Please Bucky."

Bucky disregarded your request and laid down on his side, his back facing you. You sighed in defeat. Maybe he just needed to sleep on it. You hoped that he would talk to you in the morning. You got up and turned off the lights. You sat back down on your bed, but you didn't lay down.

Instead, you just stared at Bucky. His back facing you seemed to have given you the feeling that he was never going to talk to you again. He genuinely hurt your feelings back on the dirt road. You recognized that you made a big mistake, but the fact that Bucky still wasn't talking to you hurt your feelings even more.

You blinked yourself back into reality before coming to the decision that you were going to run away. If Bucky wasn't going to talk to you, you might as well just leave him. You believed that Bucky was going to be better off without you. Although you needed Bucky, you felt like he didn't need you. Nor did you feel like he wanted you to even be around him anymore.

You quietly stood up from the bed and walked up to the door. You opened it up and took one last look over your shoulder at Bucky before leaving the apartment room.

The nightmare came to Bucky during his sleep. He dreamt of you getting killed by a group of bad guys. Even though Bucky was mad at you, he never would have wished death upon you. He loved you. He wanted to protect you. His mind was just giving him false dreams because of his current feeling he was feeling toward you.

He had finally opened his eyes which made him realize that he had to apologize to you. He thought that by ignoring you would fix his feelings, but it made it worse. Bucky rolled over onto his back, staring up at the ceiling.

"Y/N?" Bucky quietly whispered, he didn't want to awake you loudly. He sat in silence. "Y/N, are you awake?"

Normally, that was when you would respond, but there was still nothing but silence.

"Look Y/N, I'm sorry for giving you the silent treatment," Bucky apologized, swinging his legs off the bed. He stood up and went to turn the lights on. "I was just—"

Bucky froze as he saw an empty bed once the room was lit up by the lights.

"Oh shit."

Bucky didn't even wait another second and bolted out the door of the apartment. The cold air brushed against his cheeks as he stepped outside on the balcony. He frantically scanned the area, not being able to see you anywhere. Bucky ran his fingers through his hair in distress.

"What have I done?"

All Bucky could do was blame himself. Bucky started to call out your name, awakening some others in the apartment, but Bucky didn't care. He ran to the stairs and flew down them, hoping that you'd be in the parking lot.

"Let go of me!" Bucky overheard your voice. Bucky's eyes shot wide open, his head snapping the direction of your voice. "You don't want to mess with me."

Bucky ran the way he heard your voice, only to see a group of men surrounding you. You were in the middle, but Bucky didn't see any fear in you, instead, he saw confidence. Bucky was about to interject into the situation when one of the men shove you, but he stopped as he saw you fight back.

He perked an eyebrow as the men attacked you, but you swiftly fought back, kicking their butts like Bucky wanted to. In the end of your impressive combat fighting, Bucky was officially impressed. You were breathing hard as the group of men ran away in fear. You turned your head, noticing that Bucky was standing not too far from you.

"Y/N, that was—"

"I don't want to talk to you," You interrupted, immediately walking the opposite direction of Bucky. Bucky ran up to you and caught you by your wrist. He forcefully turned you to face him. You sternly glared at him. "Let me go."

"Y/N, I'm sorry that—"

"You really hurt my feelings Buck," You confessed, delaying his apology. "I look up to you, and hearing someone you look up to you say those things about you can be real heartbreaking."

"I'm sorry Y/N, I don't know what I was thinking," Bucky admitted, shaking his head in disappointment. "But after seeing you kick those men's asses, I can see that you don't even need me."

"I do need you though Bucky," You muttered, lowering your gaze from his. "I had to learn those moves from someone."

You suddenly felt two arms wrap firmly around you. You closed your eyes as you clasped your arms around Bucky, hugging him tightly.

"I'm sorry Y/N, I really am."

"So am I Bucky," You agreed, never wanting to leave his hug. "I'm sorry I ran away. I'm sorry I stranded us in the middle of nowhere."

"Just please never run away again Y/N," Bucky pleaded, pulling from the hug but keeping his hands on your shoulders. "I love you kid."

You smiled. "Love you too Buck."
