Chara was sitting just outside of the light coming down from the large hole above. They had many memories of this place. A lot of them hurt. But some… some were good… They had spaced out whilst dwelling on such before a fairly loud thud broke their train of thought. They opened their eyes quickly, looking to a slumped figure among the golden flowers. An uproar of petals slowly started to drift down and settle. They got up slowly from where they were sitting, looking quite confused.
Zoey groaned as she lay in excruciating pain. She didn’t intend to fall; It was an accident! She had tripped over a loose vine and was sent falling into a black hole. Her life had been pretty lonely and boring so she doubted that anyone would miss her. She slowly got up onto her knees and dusted off her dark blue skirt and light blue top. Zoey muttered curses to herself as she popped her throbbing joints. She turned and noticed the confused-looking child before her.
Chara blinked a few times, tilting their head.
“Another?” They said quizzically, not exactly a question but more of a statement.
They looked a bit… off. They didn’t quite look like a normal child. Their eyes were oddly colored which pierced coldly with an empty gaze. They squinted at the other before smiling broadly.
“Well no need to be impolite, I’m Chara!”
Zoey flinched slightly before smiling softly. “I-I’m Zoey…” She said to the child. She slowly and painfully got up, sighing. “So…. I’m stuck down here, huh?” She muttered to no one in particular. She looked over and saw her backpack just a distance away. It held her book, hair brush, phone, and her drawing materials. She slowly limped over to her bag and carefully picked it up, slinging it over her back. “Chara, how long has it been since you fell?” She softly asked the child, walking over to them.
Chara giggled a little bit, closing their eyes.
“Many years. More than you would think. I’ve seen many others fall down here just like you. None as old as you but still similar. I guess you tripped over that vine and fell?” They said, smiling still “But besides that, you’ll probably need a guide right? Through the catacombs?”
Zoey nodded, understanding.
“Yes, I tripped over that vine. Damn weeds,” She muttered, “always making me clumsy. Yes, I’d like a guide, Chara. Uh… By the way, how old are you? You look younger than me.”
Chara took a pause, looking at the other quietly as their expression dampened. They shook their head with a mildly nervous giggle.
“Ah uh… I’m nine!” They said before looking away and muttering “…yeah that’s right….”
Their broad smile returned as they looked up at the other again. “Well never mind that, let’s lead you on through!”
“Aha, right,” She said, completely unaware of the nervousness behind their laugh, “I’m 3 years older than you, if it makes you feel any better.”
Zoey followed them into the next room where a small grass patch was present. She was slightly confused, but shrugged it off.
Chara hummed softly with a nod, kicking at a dirt pile in the grassy room. The continued forward into the deep purple and crumbling ruins.
“Hm I suppose so… one thing you have to remember down here Zoey is that with the people here, they only know one thing. It’s kill or be killed. You’ll have to heed that if you want to survive here. But that’s okay I have something to give you!” They said, beaming up at the other.
And as if they pulled it out of the air, they had a little toy knife in their hand “It’s not much, but it’ll help you out doen here!” They said, gesturing to hand it to the other.
Zoey stared at the toy knife Chara pulled out, studying it. It looked worn, possibly meaning that it had been used. She hesitated, but accepted the toy knife with a small, “Thank you.” Her mind was racing. Was it really “kill or be killed” down here, or is there some way to use mercy? Regardless, Zoey put the toy in her backpack.
“I’ll keep it in here so I don’t lose it.” She said. As if on cue, her stomach growled. She blushed and chuckled. She reached into her backpack and pulled out a small bag of trail mix.
“Would you like some, Chara?” She asked, pointing the open bag towards them.
Chara shook their head with a small dismissive wave of their hand.
“No thanks!” They paused for a moment “Hey I know a short cut!” They said going towards one of the walls and with all their strength, pushed it in slightly and it opened up to a dark corridor.
“Ooh, nice,” Zoey said, putting away the rest of her trail mix. She stared at the corridor, slightly nervous. She never like the dark, as you never really know what’s in it.
“W-Welp…” She muttered, nervously laughing, “T-This is a thing.”
Chara nodded with a giggle, stepping into the dark corridor and letting the darkness envelop them.
“Well come on silly this way!”
Zoey swore that she saw a blue glow in the darkness for a split second, but detached from her thoughts when Chara spoke.
“O-Oh! R-Right,” She nervously stuttered, following them into the darkness. She blindly dug around her pack and felt a flashlight. She pulled it out, zipping her backpack back up. She switched the light on, takingin her surroundings. There were symbols on the walls. ‘Runes, possibly,’ she thought.
“Chara, what do the runes on the walls symbolize? A legend?” Zoey asked the small, giddy child in front of her.
Chara beamed at the other before touching a hand to one of the old stone panels, the blue glow growing a bit momentarily.
“You’re right! Aren’t you smart?” They said before explaining “It’s an old part of history down here really. Some small bits could be changed for accuracies sake but most of it is true!” They said before the sprinted over to the light at the end of the tunnel. “Here we are!”
Zoey nodded in understanding, staring up at the symbols. They looked so old, so worn… it must have been at least a few hundred years since the kingdom that was here fell into ruin.
She was knocked out of her thoughts when Chara suddenly sprinted to the end of the tunnel. Zoey slowly followed them, still hurting from her fall. “Uh, where are we, Chara?” She asked, confused and a little on edge.
Chara giggled a little bit, looking up at the other.
“Were outside of mo-…Toriels house….” they said with a sigh “She’ll take care of you! Probably help ya with some of those bruises.” They said.
Zoey smiled down at Chara, patting their head. “Thank you for helping me, Chara. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably be dead by now!” She chuckled, looking up at the home.
“I actually had a little sibling. Aaron. He was so gentle, so kind, and so careful of everything he did. Unfortunately, he went into the hospital because he had cancer. Leukemia, to be exact,” Zoey gulped, “H-He died after months of battling. He was such a good kid. I also had my younger cousin Frisk, but…. I-I can’t find them…” She turned to Chara and smiled sadly. “You look almost like them… I think that why I trust you.” She said.
Chara giggled a little, looking up at her.
"I've met someone named Frisk. They were pure of heart to say the least. They might still be in the underground for all I know!" They said before gesturing to the house "I can't go into Toris house for.... personal reasons but I'm sure she'll be happy to see someone like you!!" They chimed.

Petals in the breeze (Closed Rp)
@ask-kid-gaster Chara was wandering around the Underground, humming jovially to themselves. They gripped a fairly large knife in their hand. There were little keychains attached to the handle which jingled softly with each swing of their arms. Dust covered their hands and sleeves. They looked like they didn’t have a care in the world as they watched intently in front of themselves.
Gaster looked around at the glowing flowers. They were nice, though a bit quite. He didn’t mind all that much, the void had been soundless afterall.
The void.
He let out a hefty sigh. It had been awhile since the door had faded away, leaving Gaster lost. Every day since then, Gaster had never found that same hallway again. It was simply….gone. Maybe today was the day to go further? Hopefully he would find the door.
Gaster wasn’t sure if he wanted to stay in this unfamiliar place.
Chara couldn’t help but sprint around, after removing their shoes, in the soft yet damp grass. There were a few puddles they took a running leap for and jumped into. They giggled to themselves before slowly stepping over to one of the corridors filled with the oh so silent echo flowers in them. They could have sworn they heard something over there. Something
Alive.
There was no use in stalling as they continued to sprint down the dim corridor to see if maybe their accusations were correct.
Gaster had been sitting among the flowers silently for awhile. He was on the verge of falling asleep, and the cool blue color certainly didn’t help. Not wanting to sleep, Gaster stood up quietly and stretched, only the quiet rustling of the plant-life being heard. Stepping forwards, he stopped as he heard another sound.
There was someone else in this strange place? Maybe they could help him find the gray door.
Chara turned a corner and slowed their pace as they saw the silhouette of the other. Their grin broadened a bit but they still approached, leaving the hand with the knife to their side to keep it at least a bit less noticed. They giggled a little before deciding to try to just greet the other.
“Hello there!!”
Gaster turned to face the voice. Tilting his head, he gave a small wave.
“H-hello.” His voice was croaked from him not talking for awhile.
Letting out a cough, he tried again. “I’m Gaster, who are you?”
Chara gave a tilt of their head and waved back, taking a few steps towards the other.
“I’m Chara! It’s good to meet you!!” They giggled “What are ya doin oht here by yourself?” They asked
“I’m……Very lost. I can’t find where I came from.” Gaster replied, signing along with his words.
He sat down among the echo flowers, and looked up at Chara. Though he didn’t state out loud, he was curious as to why he hadn’t seen them before. Maybe this place was alot bigger than he thought.
Chara gave the other a smile, holding out a hand to help the other up.
“Well, just sitting there isn’t gonna help. Maybe I can help ya!!” they said “It’s a bit maze-like in through here and it’s easy to get lost.”

"No thanks!" They paused for a moment "Hey I know a short cut!" They said going towards one of the walls and with all their strength, pushed it in slightly and it opened up to a dark corridor.

"I'm Chara! It's good to meet you!!" They giggled "What are ya doin oht here by yourself?" They asked
