Mostly what I think it is is they don't have any real leaders to learn from when it comes to healthy perspectives on all thing sexuality. And if they do, they have to wade through a sea of muck and ill-applied advice/misinterpreted talking points to find people who aren't constantly online and go "no, it's not like that at all". My cousin is within the age range and she's constantly telling me "the people in my generation are kinda fucked" and it applies to so many things but definitely when it comes to sex and the weird dovetailing back into puritanical ideals.

But also okay I have this long obvious history of not getting sex positive feminism myself and I took that out unfairly on a lot of people I've since had solid conversations with and apologized to and a big part of getting over that was therapy and dealing with stuff I didn't realize had affected me the way it had. I've learned it's okay for me to make my choices and for other women to make theirs and neither of us are right or wrong in the grand scheme of things. And I really wish these kids weren't buying into that same thing but even harder and worser. I mean worse.
