Debut Art is proud to announce that we are now representing artist Kanith Thailamthong.
Kanith is interested in people behavior and experiment with mix and match simple objects that create a new visual environment. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand into a Chinese-Thai family, and has always been in a cross-culture environment. The mixing of Chinese, Thai, and the internet, and Kanith loves to explore the area of cross-culturing in a simple way. She used to draw a lot of portraits due to her interest in people’s characteristics and their thoughts. Now she loves to create interesting and fun circumstances with people. The first artist that influenced Kanith was Edward Hopper. She loves the simplicity and mystery of the storytelling in his painting and how daily life could be such poetry. Kanith’s personal works are usually about being a girl in the Eastern culture, what girls actually feel but could not speak. The single beauty standard/stereotype and patriarchy.
