Hello! Welcome to Tyler!I can't say how often people use the tubs, but I've never noticed anyone in them so waiting for your turn shouldn't be a problem. They're both in the main bathroom behind a stall door, so privacy but not necessarily quiet if others are around/chatting/showering. Bath bombs are fine as long as you rinse out the tub after yourself so the housekeeper doesn't have to do the hard work!Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Housing Assignments!!!

I heard through the grapevine that housing assignments are out? Anyone living in Tyler? WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY! Everyone else? WELCOME TO YOU TOO, ON BEHALF OF YOUR HOUSE. Cait and I have graduated, but we're both still happy to answer any questions you might have/are here for you in general. Summer is almost over already! Time flies! The sun rose at 5:37 on Sunday, May 7th. Some of my Tyler friends and I woke up and left the house at 5:15 to walk up the big hill on the 5k course to watch the sunrise. It was cold and we were all sleepy but it was one of my favorite memories of spring semester. I’m going to miss Smith and Western Mass and my wonderful friends this summer!

Fencing Senior Banquet! We went to Mt. Tom and hung out to celebrate the end of the year. There was frisbee, croquet, paper plate awards, wills, and a few tears. Also, it's our coach's twentieth year! Anna

The CRG! Central Rock Gym is only twenty minutes from Smith and the outing club often offers paid trips out there and back. We climbed for a couple of hours and it was tons of fun. Anna

Alma and I went walking by the river and saw an amazingly close hawk. It was great to get away from the stress of finals and wander a bit. Anna

🌼 Daffodil Fun Run 🌼 There are a couple of great runs (for a good cause too!) around Smith. Chase, Lynnie, and I ran in Amherst last week to support Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Hampshire County. They plant hundreds of daffodils along the route. It was a beautiful morning. Anna

Senior Ball! What a lovely night! We all got dressed up and went to an amazingly planned night. There was food, dancing, and music. Graduation is getting closer! Anna

🎉 Senior Banquet 🎉 Every year we send out the seniors in style and this year it's my turn! We have a ton of great traditions to recognize the last four years. Our lovely hats were made by first years, who also put together a skit. The sophomores bring us food while we're in our table set-up. Lastly, the juniors wrote amazing prophecies about our future lives. It was sort of surreal to have it be my turn, but it was also exciting. Anna

🎤 No Talent Tea 🎤 One of our favorite Tyler traditions is No Talent Tea. Everyone brings something bizarre/funny/curious to share with others. Emma whistled with her mouth shut, Silvana turned her arms around a freaky amount, and Emmie and I fenced with the wrong hands. It's a great end-of-year way to let loose.

🔔 Hidden Places on Campus 🔔 For the end of the year I've gotten a few cool (supervised and with permission) tours of hidden places on campus. The photos up until the "no smoking" sign are from the organ in John M. Green hall. We got to go inside the organ even, which was so cool. It pressurizes and then you have to use an airlock to go in and out. It's a very historic part of Smith. The last four photos are from the carillon bells on top of College Hall, another very cool and historic part of Smith. There were also some great views of town and campus. Anna

CAIT IS BACK!!!

Lynnie and I went to D.C. this week to get Cait. We flew there (pretty cheap and convenient) and we drove back up. While we were there we had to celebrate the fact that we were all done with our undergraduate work (we’re all 21+!)

It was such a fun trip AND I HAVE CAIT BACK!!!

She’ll be here all week for graduation so let the shenanigans begin!

Tyler is all decorated for spring! This was also our study break this week. Anna

My little sister 3D printed this at Smith! She proposed a special study last semester to generate 3D models of cuneiforms (system of writing in ancient Mesopotamia) that will be held in storage during the Library Rebuild. She did such a good job that the Mortimer Rare Book Room granted her a fellowship and summer housing to continue her work digitizing cuneiforms and start publishing models in online databases. She’s working to make these rare artifacts more accessible to scholars world wide.

🐴 Stables! 🐴

Alma took us on a trip to the stables before the horses were sent away. We had a lovely walk and got to pet all of the nicest horses. She rides quite regularly at Smith and will be going with the equestrian team to another school next semester when our stables are closed. While it's a shame that they're closing, I'm glad we got to see the horses first.
