It kind of embittered him. To think this abrupt conversation (one of projects, finances)was the norm for men outside of Pauper’s Drop. It kind of bewildered him, like:damn. You dress up a little nice andnow you’re blended in with Rapture’s elite.
As his fingers slide up and down his shot glass, Lucius sarcastically thinks how his mama told him there’d be days like this, were thesuit makes the man. Rather thangiving the ‘four-eyed fellow’ the nastiest side eye and confessing hispresence in this area was a one-night event: for a moment – and just amoment, Lucius plays along. “And just what is my share in the end, my good fellow?”
Chance pursed his lips for a second, considering. He hadn’t expected the man to cut to the chase so quickly - but he did admire a straight forward, no-nonsense approach in a business type.
Rapture certainly had no shortage of business-types, and far too few actual business men.
“That’s up for negotiation,” Chance said, keeping his tone light. “In the past, I’ve come to 60-40 arrangements with benefactors, split your way, of course. Anything more than that, I’m afraid I can’t keep the lights on in the studio. Got to pay my boys, you see.”
Chance eyed the man carefully for a moment before offering a hand. “But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. I’m Chance Charleston. CC Studios. Perhaps you’re familiar with my work, if you’re the type to pal around here...”
“What are you drinking this evening? I’ll get you another.”
