Some Trump supporters organise an Armed protest against a muslim community center in Richardson, Texas, and they want to march somewhere. Liberals organise a counter-protest, but across the street from the islamophobes, so they don’t interfere with them.
Then, as the video report says: “it was a third group, in head-to-toe black, that threw the entire thing off track. ” because a black block of antifascists of the Dallas Workers Front shows up and blocks the tiny group of islamophobes from marching to their protest.
Fucking liberals react to this by being angry at the black bloc, as always. Not for using violence, not for attacking the fucking armed islamophobes basically threatening a Muslim community center saying “their time is over” now that “Obama is gone”, no. The liberals are angry that the antifascists stand in the road and argue loudly with the fascists, until they gave up and went home.
Yes, thats one of the official counter-protest organisers looking exasperated together with the armed islamophobe organiser because the fascists can’t march in that last gif.
At one point, Siddiqi came over to the third group, asking them to let his protest opponents through so that everyone could protest peacefully.
The group disagreed, with one member telling Siddiqi, “This is a separate rally. We’re not accountable to, or necessarily with, the main demonstration although we consider ourselves allies. Think about it practically. We’re keeping the fascists hiding in a parking lot behind a ring of police. They’re not able to go over there and demonstrate.”
The whole thing amounted to a war of words that silenced both the anti-Muslim and the pro-Muslim protesters.
“It’s really very counter productive, and it makes me mad that they think they can come here as a third party and just hi-jack the event,” Siddiqi said.
This is another beautiful example of why we shouldn’t give a fuck about liberal opinions on rioting or direct action or violence to stop fascists, because they will denounce actual antifascism no matter how non-violent it is. They will only accept anti-fascism if it means giving fascists a platform to speak from and then respectfully but firmly stating that we ever so slightly disagree with their ideology of mass-murder, and then reminding them that they have the right to their opinion, of course.
