Before you go about your day, Bugsnax fandom, I’d like to ask a few questions!

Do YOU like self-inserting yourself into Elizabert Megafig’s expedition, prism of personality? Do you wish they were real and you could talk to them? So Filbo could give you a hug? So Wambus and Triffany could adopt you? So that you can kiss Floofty Fizzlebean on the lips?

Cause if so…boy, is this the account for you!

You can call me Mod Buddy, and I’m the single owner and runner of this account! I’ve made this blog for all the Grumpus kissers who are just a tad too afraid or unable to make their own content, as a bit of a self-shipper myself.

I do platonic and romantic scenarios, with all characters! Filbo, Floofty, Gramble, Alegander (because let’s be honest, he is kinda…), hell even Shelda, Clumby or Cromdo! I’ll do them all from hand-holding to parental affection! I do OCs, Self-Inserts or just generic -x readers! Headcannons or mini-fanfics, I don’t mind! Whatever makes you guys happier!

However, I do have some regulations and stuff I won’t do, as much as it might disappoint some.

NO NSFW. This one is kinda obvious, but I’m. Not doing those things? This is an account for all, including minors, and I don’t want that stuff out there. If that bothers you, hey man, A03 is right there.

NO GORE. This might disappoint some but uh. I blatantly refuse to do any of that. Don’t care if this is a horror media, I don’t feel comfortable putting these characters through that.

NO EXTREME ANGST. I’m fine with like breakup prompts, or hurt no comfort, but NO killing off characters, no tortue, and ESPECIALLY no harming them like. Physically.

OTHER THINGS: I’m not doing any sort of ‘deres’, ESPECIALLY YANDERE, they would not act like that idc.

I think these are pretty reasonable though, and from what I’ve seen, you guys are super normal.

Aside from that, I may be a little slow on requests with school and other activities, so my apologies if I’m late with anything and you’re free to be upset!! This is almost my first time doing this! FILBO X JOURNALIST: RUDOLPH

Out of everyone, they should’ve known Filbo would be the most excited about Christmas. It was still kinda exhausting keeping up with him- in a good way, of course.

It’s like that little party maker they fell in love with all those months ago was raring to go all in celebrating the holidays. From decking out his office with holiday stuff, to gifting each employee something Christmas related and now…

“Oh, Budddddy!” He tapped their shoulder, starling them out of their thoughts. “Can I borrow my wonderful joyfriend’s height for a moment?”

“We nearly have the same height.” They replied, brow raised in amusement.

“Okaaaay, but consider…we become so much taller if we combine them.”

Buddy snorted, putting their bag down, and allowing Filbo to climb on his shoulders. Another set of greenery was draped around the living room, the tentative sounds of your measured footsteps as he focused intently.

It all paid off in the end, as Filbo squealed with delight as he saw the fruits of his labor; green, white and red swirled into festive gradient, a tree that shone almost as well as the star at the topic, rew rugs, red paws, and stockings on the walls. Truly something you’d see out of somegrump’s home. Buddy couldn’t help but pull him in. “Looks nice, babe.”

Filbo turned as red as his nose, fiddling with the sweater vest that Gramble had knitted for him. “Gosh, I am…still not used to you calling me that.”

Adorable.

He giggled, turning redder as Buddy kissed his neck.

“Sucks for you, because I am never going to stop telling you how delightful you are, my little Rudolph.”

“R-Rudolph?!”

“Y’know, because of your nose.” He squeaked as it was affectionately tapped. “Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you treat me well tonight…and tomorrow…and the day after that…”

He sputtered, pushing the journalist’s face away with a bit of a snort. “Alright, stooop! We still have the rest of the house to decorate.” He adjusted the fur ruffled from your kisses, gently leaning against them. Buddy mentally swooned at the way, he twirled his pen, checking off another decoration of his color coded, lovingly made list on the house.

Rudolph wasn’t just because of his nose, was it? It was because of his leadership, even if he was timid. Even when nobody understood him, he still tried to keep them together, they tried to get them off that island. He got them through those tough times, a fog that cleared everyone’s mind, even their own.

How could someone not fall in love with a person like that?

Another gentle tap alerted the Journalist to their partner. They smiled, a bit embarrassed. “Sorry, what’d you say?”

“Do you remember what we did with the tinsel, Bud.”

Buddy grinned. They did in fact remember.

“Kitchen. I’ll take you to it.”

The lovebirds walked into the kitchen, the pink bag almost overflowing with the silvery goodness in plain sight. Filbo picked it up in a hurry, clearly intent on finishing the job, only to be met by a loving smirk from Buddy. He leaned on the counter.

“What?”

All the journalist did was point up with their paw, the blue grump following with his eyes.

A mistletoe hung neatly on the ceiling.

The mayor blushed once more, but didn’t look too terribly flustered. He giggled as Buddy pulled him in, gently combing through the knots of their fur as they kissed in the kitchen. When the journalist pulled away, they were greeted with a sea of red amongst sky blue.

Yep. Definitely Rudolph.

A/N: HI HELLO! ITS THE BITCH WHO NEEDS A BETTER UPLOAD SCHEDULE. Thankfully, tomorrow is the last exam before break!!! And I’m gonna be on vacay the whole time so!! Lots of writing to be done! This blog is not dying anytime soon I swear on my heart.

Enough rambling. I really did enjoy writing this fanfic! I haven’t done a Floofty x Reader before, but I like to think while they’ve still got a few walls and that stubbornness…they can be open and emotional vulnerable around their parent. With that said, I hope they’ve been done justice!!

Floofty x Reader (Rest Up)

“It is 3 AM, why won’t you just go to bed?”

You watch Floofty’s tired, groggily body turn to face you, squinting like a hairless cat that had been out in the sun too long.

“I am,” they state, eyebags growing eyebags under their eyes,”Perfeeeeectly fine.”

“You’re slurring your words.”

“Irrelevant.” Floofty dimissies, waving you off. They turn back around, carefully typing while looking at the notes they took during their experiments.

You click your teeth. You loved Floofty, you really did. But you always had to be a bit concerned when they did things like this, burying themselves in their work and ignoring their mental and physical health.

“Floofty, when was the last time you even ate? Slept??” You questioned, almost like a demand.

That second of hesitation speaks volumes. “Everything,” Floofty finally answers, “-is fine.”

“Floofty.”

They avoid your eyes. “I just…I just need to finish these notes.”

“Floofty.”

“Just….” They yawned. They sighed, pushing their goggles up on their face. “…I have to do this.”

You don’t respond for a bi, letting the silence echo for a moment before sighing. You walk towards your partner and hold their paw up, gently holding it alongside your own. Floofty sighs, exhaustion in their town.

“…I just…it doesn’t feel like I’ve gotten anywjeee as of late.” They mumble. “My research is hitting a dead end, either due to my own inability to catch Bugsnax or lack of volunteers beside myself.”

“You’d know I’d help you in a heartbeat, right?”

Floofty huffs. “I don’t want to risk hurting you.”

“So you rather hurt yourself?”

They fall very quiet after that one. You nuzzle into their neck, feeling them purr softly.

“I promise to help you in someway.” You state. “But it’s late, love. Let’s go to bed.” You take a bit of pride in the bristle of their fur at the mention of the l-bomb.

“Y-you know I could care less for petnames…” They respone, a faint stutter in their voice. There’s no malice either. You’re finally able to pull the purple grumpus from their seat, taking off their bow tie and goggles.

“Was that so hard?” You ask teasingly.

“Shush.” They grumble, cozying up to you in the bed.

You giggle slightly, brushing their locs back just to kiss their forehead. “Love you, Floofty. Sleep well, ok?”

“Hmm…..Love you too.” It’s quiet, but that’s ok. Because it’s for your ears only. And so is the sound of their soft snores that drift you off to sleep right with them.

Chandlo x Reader (Anxiety Dawg…)

Meditation was usually something Chandlo had no trouble with! Anymore. He had become incredibly used to just sitting down and taking a few breaths to relieve his worries, just as Shelda had taught him. But it was kind of hard to, with the feeling of solid unmoveable rock in your chest.

Chandlo felt like he was going to be sick as the phone went to voicemail again. His partner hadn’t picked up in ages and it was starting to scare him. They should’ve been home by now, so why were they running so late?! Without even a text message or anything!

He tried to think of rational things, reasons why his partner would be running late. Caught up in traffic, boss wanted them to work late, hell, even a flat tire! But it didn’t stop his brain from running to the most dangerous situtaitions as well, where they could be stranded on the highway somewhere, or they had gotten into a carcrash and were seriously hut, or they couldve gotten robbed or…or things had gone their worst and they just…weren’t here anymore. And everytime he tried to curb them, they just got louder and louder. Because what if something bad had happened? What if they were hurt and he couldn’t do anything to stop it? Wasn’t he supposed to be there for them?

The click of the lock on the door jolted him out of his thoughts. He turned from his pacing to see you walking in from the outside.

“Sorry I’m late, traffic was awful tonight and-” Your sentence was cut off from Chandlo practically slamming himself into you, wrapping his arms around you.

“There you are! I was so worried about you!” Chandlo felt a weight off his conscience at you being perfectly safe and sound. “You don’t have any injuries right? Nothing?”

“Hun. You’re starting to sound like Eggabell..” You tease a bit, returning his hug. “Everything alright?”

“I just, you didn’t answer your phone, and-and you’re usually back by now-”

“My phone died, love.”

“...Oh.”

You gently rubbed Chandlo’s back, feeling him purr against you. “Spiraled a bit?”

“...Yeah.”

“Wanna put something on TV and cuddle for a little bit?”

“...Yeah.”

Chandlo gets off you, as you stand and head over to flop on the couch with him. You toss the blanket over you two and turn in the television, putting on some random game show for background noise.

You kiss his forehead. “Feeling better?”

“Yeah, actually…” Chandlo sighs, before looking away in embarrassment. “Sorry for, uh, freaking out so much.”

“It’s ok hun, I know it can get rough sometimes.” You nuzzled against him. “And I’ll be there to soothe you when it does.”

“Always?”

“Always.”

Wambus x Reader (Take a Break)

Wambus plowed the dirt in front of him, his breath ragged from the work. He stood a second, despite his better judgment, to lean on his hoe, wiping sweat from his brow. The farmer had been at it for hours now. His crops had let up a pretty fortunate amount, but he couldn’t rest yet.

There was a more drastic need for a garden with Lizbert’s disappearance from the island. Their main food source had disappeared, and while he did think Filbo’s new friend was busy getting everyone back, he needed to to supply them with something to eat should the worst happen. He sighed, heaved his hoe, and made another plow in the ground.

“Lot of plowing you’re doing.”

He paused, looking up at you, leaning on the garden fence. He gave a slight smile.

“Maybe a bit. Not like we don’t need it.”

You hummed in response, and Wambus continued to work. This was routine between you two, just him working away while keeping a conversation with you.

“You know you can take a break, right?”

Wambus paused. “Pardon?”

“For the past few days, from way earlier than you normally wake, to nearly dawn, you’ve been plowing away at this garden, ripe with crops. I can’t help but wonder if you know you’re allowed to take a break.”

Wambus laughed. “Sorry, but, uh…this garden feeds the whole town-”

“You feed three people. Gramble, Shelda and that journalist running around.”

Wambus flinched. You sighed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.” You apologize, massaging your head. “I just…You need a break Wambus.”

He spat on the ground. “Dunno what’re on about. ‘M fine.”

“Your hands are literally shaking.”

The farmer blinked at your deadpan and checked his hands. Sure enough, they weren't…in the best shape, shaking badly. He shook his head though. “That’s nuthin.”

“Wambus, your breath is ragged, you look exhausted and you probably haven dranken anything-”

“I had some water this morin’!”

“- in the past few hours.”

Wambus grimaced. You had him there. He leaned his hoe against the fence and sighed, walking towards you.

“Listen, partner. I’m fine. I know you think I should be ‘takin’ breaks’ or whatever, but the fact of the matter is that ever since Liz has been gone, there hasn't been a reliable way to catch Bugsnax! I gotta keep the town fed.”

“For Grump’s sake, look around you!” You wave your hands at the expansive garden. “You don’t think that’s enough, just for a night?!”

“Another earthquake could happen.”

“Snorpy’s been keeping track of seismic activity, we’re fine.”

“I ain’t trustin’ the ramblings of a nutjob!” He bit back. You took a deep breath.

“Wambus Troubleham. You have. Five seconds. To surrender willingly, or pay the consequences.”

“I’m sorry?”

“Five, four, three-” Wambus rolled his eyes as you started to count, turning back to head to farmining again. “-two, one!”

He felt himself get tugged down, yelping as you dragged him by his collar.

“H-hey! What the heck are ya doin’?!” He cried out. Suprisingly, he felt too weak to properly struggle against you.

“Putting you to rest, you stubborn mule!” You retorted, entering his and Triffany’s hut and dragging him onto his bed. Wambus landed face first, and was suddenly overcome with incredible weariness. He groaned.

“Ugh…my back…my arms…”

“Feel that? That’s what happens when you neglect yoyurself for too long. You can’t help anybody in this state, now can you?” You scolded him.

“....No.”

“That’s right.” You huff. “Now, get some rest, wise guy. Your farm ain’t going nowhere.”

Wambus heard you walk off and out of the hut. And despite his mind screaming at him, for once, Wambus didn’t want to get up. You were right. He had been ignoring himself a tad too long, hadn’t he? Maybe…Maybe he’d just take a few minutes to himself. Just a few…..

He closed his eyes, unaware of his body already heading towards a nice long and well needed slumber.

“No the hell I do not.” You groaned, annoyed by must be your fiftieth mistake so far. “Wiggy, I don’t think I have your talent.”

Wiggle kisses you on your head, as you laid against her yellow tinged fur. “Nonsense. These types of things take time and practice. You’re doing pretty well for yourself right now.”

“Honey, you’re literally a mega-star.” You sighed. “You probably could play the banjo straight out of the womb.”

“Now you know that isn’t true.” Wiggle removed her hands from yours and gently preened your neck. “My ‘rise’ to stardom can’t even be called that; people remember me for one song and I was half-asleep when I was making it.”

“But-”

“Nope. No buts, dearie. You’re not amazingly good at this and neither was I. It took ages of hard work to get to this point. And maybe it’ll take you more, maybe it’ll take you less.” She nuzzled your neck, feeling you melt into her. “But I’ll be there for every second of it.”

You couldn’t stay too grumpy. Not at Wiggle. “Alright, my superstar…”

“If I’m the star, you’re the sun, darling. My world revolves around you and it always will~”

“…Ok see. Now you’ve ruined it.”

You can’t help but laugh as she playfully swats you. “It’s not my fault you’re cheesy!” You tease as she huffs, redirecting your attention and your hands to the banjo.

You take a breath, a bit anxious even with your girlfriend’s patience. Slowly, you both strum the strings, keeping the same little pitch as you’ve been practicing. And for once, you realize that it sounds good. Actually good.

“See! There you go! Congrats, darling!”

You smile a little at Wiggle’s praise, taking a breath of relief at actually achieving the few notes.

“Now we just gotta do the rest of the song!”

You groan loudly in vain.

Wambus and Journalist (Take a Break)

With every passing minute, their body felt like it was going to give way from exhaustion. But it wasn’t like they weren’t used to that feeling, so they did their best to roll with it. Buddy had been on a real catching spree as of lately, Donating to Gramble’s barn, helping Chandlo get his ‘gains’, the snax used to help Snorpy defend against the Grumpanati or whatever had happened to somebody in town. Of course, these started to wear on them and their friends noticed. Filbo in particular.

But it was fine. They were fine. They had to be, because who was going to do it otherwise?

Buddy stopped by Wambus’s farm for a second, to gather the sauces needed to gather the Bugsnax they needed today. The farmer noticed them, pausing in his work to greet them.

“Stranger! What brings you here so early?”

“Headed out to the Simmering Springs to catch some stuff for Beffica, she’s really obsessed with Snaquiri right now….” They said, swiping some Cholocate Sauce. “Amd Wiggle wants a Grapeskeeto….oh, and Snorpy wants a Pinkle for something….then I gotta backtrack to Sugarpine-”

“Uh…those are, uh, lotta requests…” Wambus frowned, eyebrows furrowed. He rested his weight against his hoe. “Shouldn’t you space those out?”

“It’s fine. Why not do them all today, right?” Buddy yawned, shaking themselves slightly as to not fall asleep. Wambus still looked unconvinced.

“It’s fine. I’m fine.” Buddy affirmed, preparing to head down to the Sinmering Springs. Their eyes were still heavy but other than the usual exhaustion, they coud run errands. Wouldn’t bet that hard. Snaquiri just had to be shot down with a bit of Sauce, and thye could used the chocolate to get Grapeskeeto, so really all they had to do was catch those, walk through the campfire, head to Sugarpine, catch the Sprinklepede, then make it back to Flavor Falls to-

Wait. Campfire?

They looked down. Oh, they were on fire. People were screaming.

Seems about right.

…..Oh grump, they’re on fire!!

Buddy ran around, kicking up as much dirt as they possibly could and stepping on their own feet in an attempt to put out the fire. Thankfully, they had only been set ablaze for a minute or so, letting it pamper out with only minor bits of singed fur. Buddy sighed.

“Buddy!” Filbo cried out, but Buddy brushed him off, intent to keep going, mumbling a quick apology.

And then, Buddy felt himself getting lifted into the air and slung a navy furred shoulder.

“Wha-?!”

“I’ve been watching ya for the past week as you ran yourself dry with different errands, ya need to lay down!” Wambus growled. “Now.”

“Wambus! Wambus, let me go!” Buddy tried to squirm their way out of Wambus’s grasp, only to fail everytime. He marched them to their hut, and plopped them on their bed, tucking them into the sheets. The journalist pouted, annoyed at the turn of events. They tried to get up, but Wambus refused to let them leave, keeping them under the blankets.

“Wambus!”

“Ya look like death, take a nap.”

“I don’t-”

“Shhhhhhhh….nap.” Wambus shushed them. “Don’t fight it, I can see it in your eyes.”

“I’m…I’m,,,” Buddy tried to struggle, but Wambsu was right. He was exhausted, sleep deprived and in a bit of pain. They laid against the pillow, feeling themselves get tucked in once more.

“I’m not tired. Just. Just a quick break.”

Wambus snorted. “Of course, Stranger.” He ruffled their hair and left their hut.

Buddy was asleep in less than two minutes.

Filbo x Buddy (Postgame)

Trauma was honestly the worst, and Buddy could tell you that first hand.

Every night after Snaktooth made them feel awful, every nightmare of watching Lizbert and Eggabell’s bodies fading away, the roaring of the Bugsnax trying to eat him and their friends, the sickening feeling of the parasites all over their body when they were in the Undersnax.

It go so hard, trying to just live sometimes. Getting up everyday and pretending that everything was fine for his boyfriend’s sake. But they just couldn’t.

They blankly stared at the ceiling, cuddled in their comforter, not willing to leave their room today. Or the motivation to do anything. Their tear soaked fur was as messy as it was thin and bloodshot eyes from said crying. They just wanted to slowly rot, slowly decay in their bed.

They heard footsteps approaching from the door, and knew who it was without even looking. Buddy closed their eyes, pretending to be asleep, before hearing the door open. Silence.

“Buddy, I know you’re not sleeping.”

Buddy still kept their eyes closed.

They heard a sigh, and felt someone crawl into bed with them, tucking them gently in his arms. They felt their paw being rubbed gently by their partner’s thumb.

“Hey Buddy, bad day?”

“Every day is a bad day, Filbo.” They couldn’t help but growl, but their demeanor swifted back quickly. “I’m s-sorry.”

Filbo kissed them. “It’s ok, sweetheart. Just talk to me. Please.”

A choked sob left Buddy’s mouth as they clung onto Filbo’s shoulder, The mayor held them tightly, letting his trembling partner breakdown in his arms.

“I see them everyday, Filbo- all the stupid parasites I fed everyone, all the carnage, I just can’t do it anymore!” They sobbed. “I don’t have the strength to be strong for anyone anymore!”

“Then don’t be.” Filbo tried to reassure. “You don’t have to be strong for them, you don’t have to be strong right now.”

Filbo held Buddy tightly. “And I’d rather make sure my boyfriend is ok more than anything else in the world.”

Buddy broke down once more in his boyfriend’s hands, feeling loved and secured. They didn’t have to be strong right now. They could just be themselves. And felt amazing to them.

Maybe they wouldn’t feel immediately better, but they had Fibo. And maybe that was enough right now.
