WRITING PROMPT #31
Write about solitude
SUBMIT HERE
My company is made up Of old books, And a recliner with an indent In the shape of a man Who used to be the life of the party And as I reach for my Friends Folded between page numbers I'm haunted by my unwillingness To leave Torn by my desire To break free And in my anguish I rip my friends from their homes Demanding more permanent company I force them into my home Laugh! I cry Be merry Talk to me that I may cure myself Of this unending solidarity Yet they remain silent Strewn about an empty house That used to be a home Desperate Stumbling I throw fire to the air For if I must live alone Then let the blaze burn Flesh from bone In the company of old friends.

Aphrodite
Your bare skinned embrace Drives me to the brink of sanity As the gentle brush of your fingers Across my skin Burns immortal memories Into my mind Here we lie Wrapped in each others insecurities Faults Scars And blemishes That the other can not see and, Salty rivers flow, and merge, and spread As we pull the breath from Each others lungs Tongues wrapped together In a gentle caress. My ears delight in the Siren song of your ecstacy as I, Drink sweet euphoria From your sacred spring We claw our way across Contours and curves Begging for sweet release As bodies and hearts throb In infinite timeless expectation Then once more, As with every time before I'll wake, Trapped in the sweet scent you Left upon an empty pillow Wondering when the Summer wind will bring you To my open window Where before the sun rises You will once again make your graceful Escape And I'm left wanting Everything -snapspoetry
You're disgusting. Sorry you're going to hell for not being a Christian. Just be straight but God has forgiven you.

To the anon too afraid to be open with their bigotry and condemnation, I wrote you a poem.
http://snapspoetry.tumblr.com/post/120248116919/and-on-the-eighth-day
And on the eighth day.
On the eighth day God awoke Poured a cup of coffee Had himself a toke Then wandered down to eden To see what he could see He caught us eating apples So he laid us ‘cross his knee Before he closed his gates though Before he shut the door He gave us one more gift Told us he was sure We’d take it with us proudly And use it in his stead When loneliness and demons Went crawling through our head He told us it’s called poetry With it he’d made the world That if we used it wisely His mouthpiece we did hold Then sent us ever wandering Across the barren fields Lost, afraid, and wanting With the devil at our heels But still as we lay wide awake Thoughts rushing through our head He still whispers words of wisdom To prove he isn’t dead Tonight he came a calling As my mind to darkness turned And told me hate and anger Was the reason we would burn He told me to pick up my quill To speak on his behalf That prejudice and ignorance Would soon bring out his wrath If we could not stop fighting And accept our fellow man With our differences and grievances He’d smite this troubled land. So brothers, sisters, others Please listen to me now Give up your petty squabbles Or take your final bow.

Gravity of Love
There is something so poetic to me About black holes The beauty and tragedy Of two lovers image Trapped forever on the Event horizon While in reality they are Torn From each other Forever -snapspoetry
Muse
It kills me That you should still be my Muse And that when the Drums of my heart song Beat They beat for you.
Unrequited Love
It’s like walking down a hallway That tapers To a narrow opening that’s Too small But just big enough to see the Possibility Of spacious
Infinity
And as you twist and turn Claw and fight and punch Starve yourself to fit This impossible opening You lose yourself
And as you slip Frail and Changed Into the light of possibility
Infinity
Becomes a small cage Of trembling Solidarity

Darkness and light
As I stepped from the darkness Of my solidarity Into the light Of a bright new world As my eyes fought to take in The complexity Of a world rich With color and depth I realized there was Pain In beauty I squinted And blinked Pushing back The various shades of Green Black Violet And yellow And was left wondering Was it worth the Suffering Should I go back To my lonely world Of comforting Darkness Or step brazenly Into shades of uncertainty And bright unknowing Light -snapspoetry
New blog
Hey guys, keep an eye on my new blog @ StoriesFromanUnknown I'll be posting up some new stuff soon.
A novel idea
Let me open you like a new book and write my story between your lines
I promise not to skim your pages, but devour your every paragraph, line, and word
I long to rewrite your exposition and give you everything
Please allow my hands to be your rising action and our kiss be your climax
I will always catch you at your falling action and I’ll be there to hold you in your resolution
I want to carry you with me till you’re tattered, and torn, and worn at the edges
Let me be the one to break your binding and breathe you in.
Can I read you like a romance novel and explore you like an adventure?
Would you let me solve your mysteries and give into all your fantasies?
If I spill my coffee across your pages I promise I’ll apologize profusely.
And in the dark of the night I’ll hide you beneath the sheets and read you like braille.
Be my favorite book and infect me with your story. Let it change me and make me lose touch with the world.
Break my heart. Break it so badly I throw you across the room only to pick you back up and engulf myself again.
Let me save a place for you on my bookshelf. Somewhere next to Shakespeare and Chaucer and Keats.
Because you, you are a masterpiece, a priceless first edition, you’re a work of art.
And I never want to let you go.

You could say I don't think anymore...
I suppose you could say, I don’t think of you anymore.
That I don’t think of the way you snuck a video of me singing inappropriate songs from behind the wheel of a 04 ford Taurus named Megatron.
You could say I don’t think of the way you sang in the shower or spent way to long getting ready. For the summer days where we used to walk for miles, drink beer out of mason jars, and take pictures on an old white laptop that we used to sit in front of for hours; wrapped up on an ugly old couch.
You could say I don’t think of the way my heart beat when you gave me your number. You know in case you needed to talk? How we’d text for hours about orchids and secrets, changes and stardust.
You could say I don’t think about the fights that could have been prevented, the fighting just to hear the sound of my own voice and the hurtfulness that clawed it’s way out of both of our mouths.
You could say I don’t think about your worries and your fears, what keeps you up in the night and what questions burn inside of you.
You could say that I don’t think of the way you stalk the halls of my darkest nightmares, and bless the corridors of my most lovely daydreams.
Yes, you could say I don’t think of you anymore,
But I don’t think of you any less.
Welcome home.
Your voice is like rain on a tin roof, Soothing, peaceful, serene. If I ask how your day went, Will you sing me your sweet lullaby?
If it hurts more than it makes you happy then take the lesson and leave. Listen, it’ll be okay - some people are only rehearsals for the real thing.

I hate loving you
I woke you up and you smiled at me, Untill you remembered you forgot how to Love me. And I HATE the way your lip curls Yes I HATE the way you squint as your eyes adjust to the one dollar light bulb that illuminates your million dollar smile. I HATE the way you never fight to stay awake and I’m left lonely; Again. I HATE how you wet your lips and lie that you’re not sleeping. I HATE that it’s four in the morning and I’m writing you poetry because God damn it I FUCKING LOVE YOU! I HATE that I can’t hate you. And I wish I could because hate is so damn easy. And loving you is so damn hard.
