Do you think Infidelity and Gojo give a little bit of some of Weeknd's Trilogy and Kissland song vibes in some parts of the story? Maybe not necessarily with the lyrics, although they do fit with the themes of toxicity, manipulation and obsession but mostly with its dark, atmospheric sound?
Because for me the vibes of Birds pt 2, High For This, Kissland, Wicked Games, The Town, Professional etc amplify the dark, sexy side of Gojo with the instrumentals or the overall tone of them and sometimes the lyrics and I can't help but be pulled deeper into the world of Mr and Mrs. Gojo at a sensory level because fuckin' hell they are already intoxicating on their own but damnnn their scenes are what flood my mind in vivid, sultry detail whenever these songs are playing in the background, whether if im doing something random or trying to sleep and for me it's entirely because of your immaculate writing and the immersive world that you've built around them that the songs have become permanently intertwined in my head with that couple and everything that surrounds them.
Your song recommendations of Desire and Enough To Believe by Bob Moses are also always on a loop too and are some of my most played tracks because of Gojo and Y/n's club and dance scenes playing out in my mind. Also please tell what all songs that you associate Gojo with.
There's a funny thing. A lot of Infidelity Y/n's dancing scenes were written from my own irl experiences (known Infidelity lore so no new bombs being dropped here) and during those days of me clubbing like that, Weeknd's music was such a heavy part of my life. What You Need, Kissland (2nd part of it), Wicked Games, Professional, Can't Feel My Face, Often etc - were my life soundtracks back then.
As for whether Infidelity Gojo's energy is based on Weeknd's songs - not really, but does he give it? Absolutely, most likely, and I wouldn't argue with it honestly. Weeknd's lyrical vibe is definitely toxic and Infidelity Gojo is outright toxic. Does he love Y/n? Yes. Does he love her in a toxic, consuming and manipulative way? Fuck yes.
I already have an Infidelity Playlist posted somewhere on this blog in image form (old school), I'll try to pull it up here for you. Be warned, it's a mess. I also occasionally post my random music taste on #tawus music tag on here, tho it automatically opts for spotify. I personally haven't used spotify in years and use youtube music instead. So I'm currently rebuilding the playlist on youtube/youtube music and I'll share it here on my tumblr also.
Lyrics-wise, I could find a million songs for Gojo. But I need you to know that when it comes to music, I'm not driven by lyrics - but more the sound, atmosphere, sonorous vibe etc. Typically I fall for a song and then later discover its lyrics and if they fit my fic's mood, great, I'll share it; if not, I'll just keep it to myself. But you've given me a good task. Now I'll think about what songs exactly would fit (my vision of) Gojo...
Enough to Believe and Desire - especially Desire - are songs I also still heavily associate with Infidelity. Memories of my mental state when I was writing Infidelity flood back whenever I listen to them. I'd actually love it if you could share more of your music taste, playlists, songs etc. Seems like you obsess over this kind of thing as bad as I do))
