Experimenting with a new brush! Here's a little piece of a Pure Vanilla design I've been working on for an AU. I'll probably post about it soon once I get the story and designs finalized to my liking. I had a great time with this piece!

To redesign or to not redesign, that is the question

So my redesigns for my AU are coming long swimmingly (I'm really happy with Spirt of Deceit, but I'll probably tweak Spirit of Freedom a bit) but the Spirit of Destiny: Doughael, is one that I'm hesitant on. Doughael has in my personal opinion one of the best designs in cookie run kingdom, its perfect visually and in the narrative context of the character. But it also fits perfectly in the narrative context of Destined Truth. There really isn't much to change about it to make it fit the story or anything to add to make it feel like an actual redesign and not just a design tweak. But I also doesn't look great imo for Doughael to be the only main character without a redesign or a redesign at the level of the rest. Doughael is a major character in this story and I want to do them justice and show them alot of love.

So what do yall think? Should I go with the redesign, or not bother

(or the secret third option where I make the design and based on your feedback I'll decide if I should use it)

Okie Dough-kie, what do you all think?

Just Like with Shadow Milk I had no need to change Dougael colour palette (Which actually means something, sorta) . I think that out of the main 4 Dougheal looks most closely to their original design, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I do want to make a post dedicated to breaking down the design philosophy for the 5 main redesigns. (Yes 5, the fifth will be for the hero of our story, which I’ll reveal in that very post) but I will share the main ideas:

I incorporated The soul jam of truth in Doughael's design in multiple ways, some more obvious than others, to visually show their ties to the Oracle

I’ve added a hood to their head to reference their flavored design, create a little red riding hood parallel to Shadow Milk’s big bad wolf and to make them look more like an angel of death

Their hair-ings have been changed to further reference their flavored design (which may mean something or… something)

There are large bites taken out of their wings, referencing the midnight snack the avatar had.

There are more tweaks and details but I’ll elaborate in my design breakdown post.

OK, Last major Design update!

I'm actually kinda 50/50 on the wings, But I'll make the decision once The Oracle and Three Spirits post is out!

I want to post two more crk things before I post this part of the au. One is ship art and the other is a Character ramble, the Ramble will defo come out tommarrow so if you like character analysis (and Silent Salt cookie) then be on the lookout for that!

I really wish I had more drawing time, to make higher quality and more complete art but alas, one can only dream (Timekeeeperrrrrr I need this!!!!!) I have a long list of art ideas/plans that I really want to do, but I also want to dedicate time to this AU stuff too.
