just thought of a business person coming into the clinic straight from work on a friday afternoon. Dressed in their up tight lil business outfit (this is gender neutral so imagine however you please) soaked from the cold pouring rain. You'd thought it was the rain that has them all sniffly, until you hear them coughing and how thick the congestion is in their voice as they ask you how to get a room bc 'I don't know what's worse my work week or this cold' You a nurse have them fill out an intake form, offer blankets, towels and tissues as you guide them to the waiting room. Poor thing sounds absolutely awful. They set their bag down and slump into the chair as you drape the towel over their shoulders, their top stuck to their upper body from the rain. While you go back to attend the front desk, you eye them every so often as they hitch, sniffle and rub their nose through the paper work. When they finally come up to give it back to you, they have the most pitiful look on their face as they tell you 'fidished it" You can see their nostrils flaring, they're definitely red and angry. It isn't long before you hear a desperate gasp and snz and see them rocked forward hard with the blanket cupped to their nose and mouth. You watch them pull it away and solemnly cringe, strings of snot were oozing down. Yet another sneeze interrupts them and they mutter a soft 'excuse be'

Contagion clinic sickie who's been so stuffed up they can't sleep let alone snz. They've been up for days barely getting 4 hours of sleep. So when they come in with dark circles under their eyes and their nose very red and may be very visible congested. Its no surprised that the doctor's treatment it a nice long inducing session.

They start off with massaging their sinuses and the bridge of the patient's nose that crinkles under the physician's touch. Maybe the doctor tilts their head up to 'get a good look and yup poor thing is absolutely stuffed tight with that awful cold. So they get started, applying some sensitivity lotion-that also increases with mess production- Gently rubbing it along their septum and nostrils, then up the base of their nose. Each movement causes a squishing noise of all that congestion They give it a few minutes til the patient starts to complain of an awful tingling buzzing in their nose. A nurse then hands the doctor a swap that has lil feather like fronds along it to which the doctor circles along the patient's nostrils and then pushes inside one of them. Lil gasps and hitches follow suit as the frons sweep and brush along the red, sensitive insides. THeir nostrils flare widely and a congested blunt snz comes, just one. The doctor keeps going, the snzs come out in singles for a little bit until finally a double happens and you can hear the mess move forwards, you can also see it too. "good good, we're making progress" The doctor says and then switches nostrils, this side seems to be more sensitive than the other when the doubles come easier. They push the snot right to the edge of their quivering nose with each sneeze until the doctor pushes the tool in deeper and pulls out a very desperate set of four from them. Mess pours down their face. They have strands of it dripping down and between apologies they hitch and snz at the doctor more.

I finally have a cold that doesn't hurt my throat! For now, at least. I'm so sneezy, and I'm so messy. I love this.

first wav!! i accidentally induced earlier, ended up sneezing two big loud sneezes twice and held back a third as i scrambled to record 😅 ended up sneezing 3 more times and also got some of my sniffles and nose blows too. i only ever sneeze 3x in a row at once with allergies and colds and am curious if that’ll change with chhinkni (which i finally reordered, so here’s hoping it arrives before my roommate leaves me alone in a few weekends!). let me know what you think <3

self obs from today: i was sneezing so much at work today that my n95 was almost soaked through 🥹

they just kept coming and were so wet and full of spray

and my nose was so itchy and runny…

i only had a few tissues in my pockets and had to resort to blowing my nose into rough paper towels after using up my tissues entirely. the tissues were just so wet and blown through and were getting to the point of mulch…but the paper towels just made my already sensitive nose more sensitive. ended up sneezing roughly and loudly while waiting for my train, and a second time once on my bus home. they were super wet sneezes but i couldn’t do anything about the spray because i was wearing a mask. i so badly needed to switch to a new mask but didn’t want everyone around me to see the snot dribbling down my lips after my sneezes 🤧

thankfully i got home soon after, and have lots of tissues in my apartment, aNd now have a whole box next to my bed if needed :)

sniffly induced sneezes!

finally got around to inducing now that my roommate is out of town for the weekend…ended up sneezing 9 (9.5? 10? there was one like sneeze cough) times in a row which is the most times i’ve ever sneezed in one sitting … every sneeze was uncovered except for the last two; the second to last one went into my elbow and the last one was sneezed onto my chest (lifted up my collar and sneezed into my shirt, which i think might be my favorite way to “cover” because it’s lowkey uncovered except it’s Not) — tldr i covered the last two because i was worried my neighbors would hear me … however now i am stoned so maybe i’ll induce some more later? my nose is still itchy soooo…after the sneezes i ended up blowing my nose but forgot to record those. my nose was soooo stuffy afterwards and is still stuffy now! anyways hope someone enjoys this, i sure did ;)

Shane wakes up with a terrible headache that won’t go away the first week they have off-season. He figures it’s from finally being able to take a break and takes a few Tylenols so as to not interrupt his precious off-season training schedule. Expecting to kick in soon, he goes on with his day, but the headache never fades away. He tells Ilya about his headache in the evening and Ilya, being the good boyfriend he is, offers to give him a head massage to try and relieve the tension. As he places pressure on Shane’s temples, Shane finally begins to find relief and can’t help but groan with the release from pain it brings. Ilya takes the feedback well and increases pressure a bit, then migrates to Shane’s sinuses to relieve any build up of tension he might be holding there. Shane feels his nose start to run a bit as Ilya massages under his eyes and his nose begins to tickle just slightly out of reach, but he’s so relaxed he pushes the sensation further from his mind as he melts into ilya’s touch. Unfortunately, the tickle did not take very well to being ignored, and out of what seems like nowhere, hih-hHEtschoo- hihtchoo, Shane hitches once then, caught off guard, sneezes twice directly towards Ilya’s face. His nostrils stuff up as he recovers from the shock and he finally puts the pieces together: he had caught a cold. Shane scrambles to apologize, embarrassed that he was such a mess in front of Ilya but before he manages to finish his sentence, Ilya cuts him off and wipes the spray off of his cheek, then places his hand on Shane’s cheek. “You have nothing to apologize for solnyshko” he says, before leaning down and kissing Shane softly on the lips. “Now come on Shanya let’s get you cleaned up”

spent too long today needing to sneeze so badly and forgetting i had chhinkni but also knew that if i used it, i’d likely become a huge sneezy mess and idk how long it’d last and i have Things To Do tmrw so alas 🥹

i did spend too much time today coughing / now i’m cold / blowing my nose / sneezing some Intense sneezes / being soooooo sleepy so who knows maybe i’m getting sick 🤷🏻

oh i’ve also taken headache meds twice today But also haven’t eaten a ton bc i wasn’t hungry so headaches could be due to that

spent today snuffling a lot, needing to sneeze all day and having my nose run down my face…gonna use chhinkni tomorrow to get some sneezes out because i keep having false starts and it’s so damn annoying 😭

:( miiiight use it tmrw bc my roommate is going out of town … plus i definitely have a mental block around him so i usually try not to sneeze when im in front of him if i can help it,,, (literally actively made myself stifle twice last night while making dinner because i didn’t want to sneeze around him😬)

i called my sibling earlier and spent way too much of it sniffling because my nose was so drippy

A person trying really hard to keep their contagious cold to themselves, but also trying to not let anyone else know they’re sick, not wanting to admit their weakness. They cover their face and stifle to keep their secret, and instead of carrying around tissues they resort to using their sweater collar and sleeves to blow their nose and sneeze into, reasoning that no one was going to get close enough to their clothes for it to matter if they were covered in contagious snot.

After a particularly bad heat flash from their fever, they take off their sweater and leave it on their chair as they go to the bathroom, but when they come back they see that their friend had taken it off the chair and put it on, as it wasn’t unusual for them to share clothes and they were chronically cold. The sickie now has to grapple with their two choices: let them keep wearing the sweater and doom them to this horrid cold or tell them to take it off and reveal that they’re sick, betraying their facade of strength.

catching sneezes

alright!! here’s some gross mess shit!!

• consider this: the person holding the tissue can literally feel how productive the sneeze is. i know we’ve talked about the phrase “heavy cold” in the past and. this is so applicable because the sneeze can be messy enough that the tissue is soaked and heavy with mess. caretaker knows when it’s time to get more tissues or if the one at hand is ready to be thrown away.

• imagine the caretaker pulling the tissue away slowly because there’s a stream of mess behind it. they don’t want to humiliate their partner who insists on keeping the tissue pressed to their nose for the rest of eternity.

• what if the person sneezing is so sick and tired that they don’t even bother to look at their caretaker’s hand. they sneeze before realizing they’ve missed the tissue and sprayed the hand holding it rip them

• said person is so tired that their caretaker takes responsibility for covering their sneezes till sick person falls asleep. caretaker notices subtle signs of a buildup and brings a hand over the other’s nose by instinct at this point. bonus if this becomes nonchalant and routine. maybe the sick person is resting in bed, eyes closed. their caretaker sits beside them, one hand holding a book open and the other ready with a tissue. they’re invested enough in reading that they don’t look before they reach over to cover clumsily and end up getting sneezed on.

also consider: this has become so routine for the sick person that they don’t even check if their partner has a tissue. they just let themselves sneeze and oh-caretaker wasn’t ready. you just sneezed all over yourself :/
