[[ Apologies for the lack of activity on this blog. I'm thinking of revamping Vince (hence me RPing with people over Skype privately) and developing his character more. The Scout puckered his lips, obviously disapproving of the rusty taste now on his lips. He collected his treasures and pulled from his arm pit, placing it atop the little pile he’d festered.

Willy made his way back from the case and settled himself at the Sniper’s side, watching boredly the woman check out Vince. The woman was just all smiles towards the older man, telling him of this objects origins.

“This was carved from an Aborigine all the way from Australia. My husband got it as a gift when he was visiting their village.” She carefully placed the object in a small white bag before pushing it over the desk towards him.

“That’s be two dollars dear.”

Vince didn't mind the little history about the item, and he felt rather proud to hear that it came from where he suspected it would be. He's met a couple of Aborigine himself, and he's respected their craft for a while now. Nodding gratefully, he took two dollars from his wallet and handed it to the lady with a smile.

"Thanks," he mumbled, taking the bag and glancing at the contents before looking back up. "I'm from Down Under myself- except I left my collection back at home, you see." He chuckled, and backed up so that Willy would be able to purchase his own stack of stuff.

He didn't linger very far though- he wanted to amuse himself again by seeing how the lady would treat the Scout as compared to him.

“Hmm?” Willy pivoted his body completely around the look over at the Sniper. He blinked readily a couple times before smirking as he held up this old harmonica and started to blow through it. A couple weak tunes came out that made the store owner flinch. Clearly she disapproved of the man’s actions but made no sign to stop him.

Plus the Scout couldn’t really see her since his back was still directed at her.

“Ugh. Tastes kinda bad.” Willy snorted, putting it back into the overly decorated case. He plucked up the small assortment of books from a nearby shelf. Resting atop of those were a two little clear glass figurines. They had color but it looked to be add mainly at the ends making their centers appear faded of color and nearly clear.

“Maybe.” He answered, trying not to sound to excited. But his face gave it all away. With those bright blue eyes and a bouncing smile that flashed white teeth. The Scout felt like a teenager again in a book store.

Wincing at the very sad sound the harmonica created that travelled across the room, Vince glanced at the storeowner who bore expression not so different from his own. He was still amused that Willy had been able to... irritate her (oh, that frown made her wrinkles even more evident) while at the same time got very little response. He'll laugh about this later.

"It's an antique and you put it to your mouth, mate, what else would you expect?" He let out a low chuckle, and looked at the wooden rabbit again. Eh, might as well take it now, seeing as Willy found his own stuff to buy. He plucked it once again from the table he set it down upon only a couple of minutes before.

The bloke seemed pretty happy by what he found. Vince shrugged and brought the figure to the lady, already reaching for his wallet as he was lead to the supposed checkout counter to pay for it. He knew who to give it to.

"Getting all those books then?" he asked over his shoulder. "Good to read during... downtime," he finished, choosing another word that wasn't 'ceasefire'.

Kamora giggled at Vince’s statement. “You sure have! But we can get you caught up~” She would definitely insist on getting dessert; one couldn’t have a proper dinner without it! As for the actual main course, Kamora wondered what she should have; there were many different foods she enjoyed, but it was always a difficult choice to make. Perhaps her chipper mood would play into her decision today.

She wondered how he would respond to a Vespa. Most people didn’t consider it a bike, but she loved it all the same. Maybe it was just a love of foreign things? As far as cars go, she always did have her eye on a Fiat. Something small and just right for her, not some big SUV or a sports car. No, sports cars got stolen or destroyed in the city. “YES!” she cheered, hearing Vince’s response. “I’m right behind you!” Aw, what a gentleman. She smiled happily, following the Sniper toward his bike. It looked really cool, and she stared in awe. “How long have you been riding, Vince? This looks like a really neat bike!”

"Sure hope I do, quick," Vince agreed with a laugh of his own. It really has been a while since he's eaten anything sweet, and he had no doubt that Kamora would help him pick the good desserts for him to try out. There was the main course to deal with first, however, but picking anything from a menu was not a problem as he was no picky eater. He's learnt to eat whatever he could from his time in the bush.

He smiled at his companion's exclamation, glad that she had trusted him enough to provide her a lift to wherever they were going to eat, especially on a motorbike, for christ's sake. Rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, he played with the keys to his bike, throwing them up lightly in the air then catching them again. "I've been riding for about... five years at least? Nah, a bit more, I think, when I thought lugging camper around all the time would be a bit too impractical." He chuckled and handed his helmet to Kamora.

She brightened, perking up at the request. “Fish and chips! Yes, I can do that. I love fish and chips! It shall be no problem at all, never you worry.”

He grinned again, excited at the idea that he’ll be able to eat one of his favorite dishes for the first time in a long time. “Oh, I should probably take something to the party. What would you like me to bring?” he asked.

She shook her head, waving a hand at him dismissively. “You really needn’t bring much, it’s only dinner! The only thing I’d like you to bring is an appetite, so that I may feed you well.”

“Oh, please, let me bring at at least something so that I’m not just eating at your new house,” Vince offered. “I can probably get something for Lizzie, if she’d like that.” He looked at the child sitting on his lap, smiling softly at her.

Alice smiled back at him, furrowing her brow gratefully. “Oh, that is too sweet of you! Lizzie will love anything you bring for her, I’m sure.”

"I'll bring something for you as well, Alice," he added. Looking up in thought, he reached for his cup again and took another sip."I already have something in mind for lil' Lizzie here, and I sure hope she'll like it."

“Good book, though I’m only saying that because I haven’t read that one in a while,” Vince confessed with a small chuckle. He took another book off the shelf, looked through a few pages, then put it back. “But I remember it was good… the one with the whale, right?”

Once he finished scanning the spines of the books, he moved to look around the rest of the shop, starting with the small stack of music boxes that were placed on a small table near the bookshelf. He picked one up and opened it curiously and carefully. The music started spilling out in high and low notes and slowly stopped. Vince didn’t wind it up again. He closed it and put it back, then looked back at the Scout, who now took the book from earlier under his arm.

“Heh, not that I don’t like the nickname, I just though, since you know my name, might as well ask for yours, yeah?” He ran a finger over the layer of dust on the aged wood of another table, going over the small engravings. “Willy?” He repeated, then gave a nod, chuckling again. “I was about to call you Will but if Willy’s what you’re alright with.”

“Will’s good as well. Never been called that before.” The Scout smirked as he collected a few of the books and soon he had a nice assortment tucked beneath an arm. He could feel that woman’s eyes boring into his back. She probably was concerned that sweat from his pits were getting on the covers.

He scoffed, bringing the pile to his chest. He didn’t even have them tucked up that far. “Well Vince. I’m going to go look at those odd assortments of figurines over there. Be right back.” He slapped him on the shoulder before waltzing off. These shelves looked more update. They were made entirely of glass themselves.

Willy smirked, eyeing a particular little red ladybug figurine. He knew Solly would’ve teased him if he saw that.

"I'll be the first then." Vince offered the Scout a smirk of his own, looking up from dusting his fingers on the table. His eyes travelled back to the storeowner, who he found was staring, or maybe glaring, holes into Will's -- Willy, William, he had to decide-- back. It was amusing, to be fair. They weren't going to stay here long anyway, just long enough to cool down and go out again. Hopefully the woman would bear no ill feelings if they ever came back here.

He sort of flinched when the BLU slapped him on the shoulder, not expecting it at all. Absentmindedly, he nodded and turned his head to look at everything else in the store, again. His gaze landed on a couple of wooden carvings, miniature animals, one being a rabbit. He picked it up and inspected it for a while before thinking of asking the price of the small piece of art, his mouth open to call the lady over, but decided against it and stayed silent. Maybe he'll come back and buy another time.

"Found anything interesting over there, Will?" he called over to the BLU on the other side of the shop, now inspecting a few old watches displayed in a box lined with relatively new cloth. Thankfully the price was stuck onto the outside of the box, so he wouldn't have to ask. He took one, tried it on, and decided to take it.

The owner drifted away from the pair. But she seemed to keep an eye on them while stocking a shelf. It was obvious that business must be slow from the desperate look she got in her eyes. Willy got this small smile as his eyes roamed the books.

When it was passed to him the man gratefully accepted it.

“Moby Dick.” Willy read the words aloud to himself before his lips sunk back and brows rose. He bobbed his head up and down, sizing up the thick read. This looked to be right up his alley. “I attempted this and never finished.”

His fingers ran over those pin thin yellowing pages delicately, turning a couple as if remembering from back then. When that question popped up Willy just smirked over at Vince. A sort of wistful spark came to those blue eyes.

“Oh you don’t like the nickname?” He chuckled while tucking the book underneath his arm as his other reaching for another thick tomb. “It’s William Dalby. Whatever you like to call me I’m okay with. But people usually just like to call me Willy.”

"Good book, though I'm only saying that because I haven't read that one in a while," Vince confessed with a small chuckle. He took another book off the shelf, looked through a few pages, then put it back. "But I remember it was good... the one with the whale, right?"

Most of the time, Vince enjoyed a good battle on a King of the Hill map. The members of the opposite team would constantly move towards the control point to capture it, allowing him to headshot as many enemies as he could with his huntsman.

This battle though, was not one of those times.

Here on Harvest, RED wasn't doing so well. This map was small, and the Sniper nests were so very easy to spot and it was almost expected to find a Sniper up there, that when he just lifted up his bow to shoot through the window, he'd have to hide behind the wall again just to avoid the bullets that were trailing in his direction. It was so frustrating.

With a curse under his breath, he waited til the bullets stopped and BLU captured the point again. He got up and only managed to shoot one head through the window before another rocket came flying towards the window. Thankfully it only ended up exploding on the wall outside, and not actually inside the nest.

He breathed underneath the veil of his Anger, and peaked through the corner of the window to see his team trying to capture the point back. With another sigh, he got up to pull his arm back, releasing another arrow to cover his team.

“We shall be very happy to have you,” She smiled genuinely, folding her hands and leaning her chin on top of them. “Is there any sort of dish you’d like to request? I am admittedly not too well versed in cooking proper food-” She brushed a hand behind her neck sheepishly. “But I’ll gladly give it a go for a friend like you!”

The Sniper smiled back, and also scratched his cheek in slight shyness. “Well, I’m not the picky sort of bloke, so any dish would be alright,” he replied, then thought for a bit. “But, erm, aside from your sweets, I suppose… fish and chips? I know, common and all… But it’s really up to you!”

She brightened, perking up at the request. “Fish and chips! Yes, I can do that. I love fish and chips! It shall be no problem at all, never you worry.”

He grinned again, excited at the idea that he was going to be able to eat one of his favorite dishes for the first time in a long while. "Oh, erm, would you like me to bring anything to the party?"

“Ah, yeah, I suppose. Same here.” Vince replied, shrugging. He didn’t really mind the base himself, but sometimes the surroundings were very tiring to look at. If there was anything going on he tended to either just hang around without saying much or avoid the team all together. Not that he didn’t like his team, he just wanted time to himself.

He noted the Scout removing his shirt. He thought of mimicking the action but all he would have was his wife-beater and he wasn’t going to wear just that anytime soon. It was incredibly warm, but he still had his own standards, not that anyone was going to care at this point with other men walking around in a similar fashion. With a soft sigh he kicked a small rock aside.

“Nah, not really. Sometimes I get too lazy.” He chuckled. “And I wouldn’t want to use the gas,” he nodded over to his bike, “unless I really feel like coming out here.”

“Ah. That’s okay. The heat makes us all lazy I think. Not much to do when it’s roasting down on us.” Willy casually stated while pointing both forefingers towards the sky. The man sighed, shaking his hands while reaching down to pull out his tube of sun screen.

While still managing to keep his old shirt tucked underneath a free arm, Willy smeared the liquid down his arms and across his shoulder blades.

“We should take shelter some where cooler.” The man obviously hinted to one of the stores as he made way to the closest one.

A light ring of a bell overhead announced their entrance. But no one seemed to be there to greet them. Willy proceeded with smearing the last of the liquid into his skin while holding the door open for Vince with his foot.

“Looks like an old antique store.” He mumbled when the Sniper passed by.

“Heh, true, true,” he agreed with nod, snickering silently to himself. Too many times he’s caught himself lazy simply because of the heat. He didn’t know if it was a good or bad thing.

Vince noted the Scout spreading some more sunscreen on his skin, and looked about the town, adjusting his aviators and squinting under the sun. As a result of the still blinding light, he brought a hand up to provide some cover for his eyes. Fortunately, the Scout had suggested to go for some shelter, so he nodded once again and followed the BLU into the store he was hinting at. He uttered a small ‘thanks, mate’ as the other man held the door open as he walked in, now paying attention to the store itself.

“Well, isn’t that rather cozy,” he thought aloud. There was that old kind of scent that immediately labeled the place as, like the Scout had observed, an antique store. There were aged wooden furniture and objects, a dash of bronze or some other rusted metal here and there, and to complete the store, a fan hanging above the two mercenaries’ heads. It provided enough cool air for Vince not to complain. “Never been in this shop before, I don’t think…”

Willy opened his mouth to agree with the Sniper but then they heard this elaborate exclamation A small, pudgy woman came from about the corner of a shelving unit tipping dangerously with all the extra weight of books on it. Her short hair bob framed her face and those overly pink cheeks. That if Willy looked hard enough he found it to be an overuse of makeup. The woman fanned herself when approaching the two, while trying to compose the obvious excitement.

“Customers. What can I get you today?” She glanced towards Willy, but once she found him shirtless and less dressed immediately her eyes glued to Vince. Willy tried not to laugh when it became obvious that she was uncomfortable seeing a man without a shirt on. If that was the case she defiantly shouldn’t head to down state New York at this time of the year. With all the gangs that ran around shirtless up there, she’d probably have a heart attack on sight.

“We’re just looking around.” He’d already passed her by and slipped by that bookshelf. It too looked to be an antique itself. How it was still capable of holding a load was beyond him.

Vince nearly jumped at the feminine voice they heard. It wasn't like he was expecting it with how quiet the place seemed to be. God, and he was always wary of anyone sneaking up on him; at the moment he was just glad that is wasn't a bloody Spy. He took note of the obvious... overuse of makeup, and tried not to grimace and instead appeared to be polite.

"G'day, miss," he said with a nervous smile, which turned quite genuine when he also noticed , amusingly, how her gaze was quickly shifted from the Scout beside him to himself. Evidently she was not accustomed to seeing males without their tops.

He jokingly wondered if she was even married.

"Like he said," the Sniper replied as well after the BLU passed by her. He took off his aviators and let them hang on his shirt pocket, and proceeded to look around as well, mainly at the bookshelf that looked like it could give in any second. "Heh, this one's a classic," he mumbled to the Scout near him. pulling out a rather dusty and worn hardcover book.

Absentmindedly tearing his eyes away from the faded ink on the pages to glance at his companion, he only now realized that he hadn't yet asked his name. Calling him just "BLU" seemed a bit odd, now that they've been here a while.

"Hey, er," he started in a low voice, his eyes returning to the pages as he flipped them, more out of having something to keep his hands busy, "mind if I ask what your name is, mate? I mean, I know, company rules and all, but we're sort of off-base so maybe those don't apply here."
