To Anakin’s surprise he felt her hand placed on his shoulders, but hastily he stepped forward, pulling away from her. He looked ahead, with moisture still in his hues. Silence filled the space between the two. “ The order was unprincipled and have eluded ideas that should be eliminated, this I know to be true, but you said yourself we were family” The words faded to almost a whisper, as he tuned back to face her, with his long robe dragging at the ground.Hurt and pain slowly began to enter his being, pain he had been trying disperse, but it had resurfaced itself. “Don’t tell me what pain is! I live with it with every day. Every time I close my eyes, I feel it, I see it. Don’t you dare tell me I don’t know what it is. It consumes my very being. I’m sorry for how the Jedi treated you. I’m sorry you went through that, but I didn’t do that to you but you still punished me. I was turned against as well Ahsoka. I never took you for one to compare your pain to others.”
After a long moment of silence, a vile huff split from Anakin’s lips at Ahsoka’s remarks in regards to the Sith. “ That is what the Jedi have corrupted you, even me to believe. That was until the Chancellor showed me the truth. The real enemy lies within them” The words floated from his mouth in a stringent tone. “Besides there is nothing wrong with ambition”. A taut grimace remained rested across his face, showing no emotion, but rage returning to his firm features at the mention of Obi Wan. “Obi Wan is no more than enemy of mine, he left me to burn!” He roared loudly in fury, with a now piercing glance on Ashoka. The blue shade of his hues were turned dark. When Anakin closed his eyes, he could still feel the heated flamed burn at his skin, as he watched his master and more like father figure do nothing but away from him, as everyone he cared for in his life had. Whether it be Ashoka, Padme, and the council included. “ If you are still an alliance to him or any of them, then you too are now my enemy”
hurt spread across her features as he jerked away from her. ahsoka had never thought she’d see the day when he’d pull away from her, but here they were. “we are family, you nerf-herder. and yeah, the jedi are screwed up. they needed to be disbanded. i’m not saying that they didn’t. but the sith are too. why do you think there’s only ever two in existence? even they know how horrible they are.” the girl felt her own eyes growing damp as he yelled. this wasn’t what she wanted. she wanted him to be the man she remembered, the kind, loving man she knew as a padawan. “i told you what it was! i know you suffered, anakin, but i wasn’t trying to punish you! what did you want me to do? stay there and let them suffocate me? i was sixteen years old. and i’m not comparing anyone’s pain. everyone has it, and it’s not my place to tell you how bad yours is or isn’t. but if you dare imply that walking away didn’t break my heart and kill me inside, i might have to slap some sense into you.”
as much as she didn’t want them to, she felt the first tears slide down her cheeks. she was still a child, for gods sake, given the responsibilities and losses of someone far beyond her years. she was alone, and scared, and she wanted him to hold her and tell her it was going to be okay. she just wanted him back. “the jedi and the sith are both terrible orders. palpatine destroyed as many people as the council did, just in different ways.” ahsoka nodded, actually agreeing with him somewhat. “no, there isn’t. but when you let your ambition overpower everything else, there is something wrong.” again her thoughts flashed back to her last duel with him. she’d been dropped here in the middle of it, and she couldn’t help but wonder if his ambitions would have led him to kill her, if only she’d been there a bit longer. thank god she’d never have to find out. “anakin, you killed younglings. you tried to kill him. padme would never have turned against you, and obiwan never would have tried to make her. logically you know that, but you let palpatine’s influence and your fear take you over.” tears were streaming down her face by now, and she shook her head. “i’m not your enemy, don’t say that!” she moved forward again, practically collapsing into him and moving to wrap her arms around his shoulders. “anakin, please. don’t... don’t shut me out. i need you. i can’t lose you again.”
