A little pre-launch giveaway! We’ll be picking winners at launch week so everyone has until then to enter! ♥
Last chance before launch to enter!!
Dappervolk Pre-Launch Info!
Hello everyone! Before the site officially launches, we have some information that we’d like to impart to help everyone prepare for a smooth start to their Dappervolk journey!
When your player character arrives in the world of Dappervolk, they will begin their journey in the town of Louise Hill. As you meet the NPCs of this town, you will be presented with main-story quests that will teach you about basic game mechanics in Dappervolk. These tutorial quests have now been expanded upon and updated since our beta testing phase, to include new sections that will cover information about features that weren’t available yet in beta.
Additionally, a handful of existing quests have undergone some balancing and routing revisions.
Taking into account beta testing feedback, we have adjusted the pet hatching part of the tutorial to have a shortened hatch time. This is the only time you’ll be able to hatch a pet more quickly than normal, and it will be for a specific, untradeable pet that has not been seen yet!
If you had any Dappervolk redemption codes that you redeemed during beta testing, you’ll be able to redeem it once again to own the item(s) permanently in official launch.
If you’ve misplaced/lost the email containing a redemption code, simply send in a Support Ticket or email [email protected] with the email that you purchased/obtained the code with, and we’ll be able to help you retrieve it.
As our beta testing phase occurred a while ago, we understand that some users with existing accounts may have forgotten their login names/passwords.
A login name retrieval and password reset function is now available for users to access their account information. Simply go to the login page and click “Forgot your password?” Or visit this link: https://dappervolk.com/password/email
If you’ve lost access to your account in another way and need assistance, feel free to send in a Support Ticket or email [email protected] with your problem for assistance from our support team.
As promised, the following items from our beta testing phase will be carried over to existing user accounts:
Beta Pet Hatching Item (Prismatic Bell) - Awarded to all users who played during beta testing.
Beta Tester Achievement - Awarded to all users who played during beta testing.
Animated Spring Bloom Item - Distributed to users who placed in the top 25% for the Spring Event during beta testing.
Beta Spring Event Trophies - Distributed to participants according to the event tier that they obtained in the Spring Event during beta testing.
All carry-over rewards will be present in the user’s account when they log back in, no need for codes or redemptions in this case!
We know many of you are excited to get your first start in our new guilds feature! Here are some important pre-launch tidbits to take note of about guilds:
Guilds will require a certain set of mid-game prerequisites in order to gain the ability to create one, so we anticipate that it will take a bit of time for the first handful of guilds to begin appearing.
Players can expect to first meet the NPC responsible for overseeing the creation of guilds toward the end of the first town’s tutorial quests. From this point forward, you will be able to approach them to inquire about forming a guild.
New and returning seasonal Pride items will be obtainable through gameplay for the rest of June once the site launches!
Our potato and turnip monthly limited shops will receive their first sets of items in the beginning of July.
The Seasonal Charity Pet Sale will end on July 4th, 2020. After this, the Feathered Gem hatchable will not be obtainable until the next charity event is held.
The Light & Dark Launch Support bundles will retire permanently on July 5th, 2020.
A brand new site-wide summer event is planned to occur some time in July/August!
Thank you so much for your continued support and love for the game. We hope you enjoy Dappervolk when it launches, and we will see you there! ♥
I’m excited to see what the new pet is! Also can’t wait for the events oh lord time please go faster
change my mind
How could you do Magdalene dirty like that smh
Pre-Launch Website Update!
Hey everyone! As the site staff prepare for launch in 4 days, they’ve made some public changes to the Dappervolk home screen! (Stay tuned until the end for a bittersweet surprise) The first thing that alpha and beta testers will notice upon looking at the home screen is the change of banner at the very top! It seems that the banner is a picture of Louise Hill…. could this be hinting at changing banners depending on what town you’re in? For reference, this is what the banner used to look like!:
The second thing that caught my eye was the addition of the darker colored strip behind the “Home” “Register” and “Log In” buttons! This creates more contrast, increases readability, and allows the categories to pop. The new website also features the old top bar just below the new one, which is where your current location, etc., will now appear, as seen in my analysis of the What is Dappervolk? YouTube video: https://bibblevolk.tumblr.com/post/618049806804336640/analysis-of-the-05132020-dappervolk-youtube
Now, for something bittersweet…. and frankly sad… The beta wipe was finally performed.
After almost 2 years of waiting, our avatars and pets have finally poofed, paving the way for new beginnings. But soon we will be able to make new memories with our animated babies, our favorite NPCs, and newfound friends made through our favorite game: Dappervolk. I can’t wait to see you at launch on June 21st, 10PM est.
A little pre-launch giveaway! We’ll be picking winners at launch week so everyone has until then to enter! ♥
I’m excited for the avatar, the pets, to meet everyone, and the storyline that I didn’t get to in beta!
It’s been a hot minute since DV and boy I’m so hyped for release!
...I may have an exam that day that I should be worring about ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey new kids!
If you want to keep abreast of the ongoing updates and changes in gameplay to Dappervolk, you might want to consider subscribing to these two threads:
QUEST CHANGELOG and SITE FEATURES CHANGELOG
This is where the staff posts a lot of its tweaks and changes. It’s a little buried and not well advertised on the site, since posts don’t appear in the Site News reel on homepage, apparently leading some to believe that changes are only posted in discord. If you want to keep up-to-date on bug fixes, then here you go!
Because it will be erased in the beta wipe, and for the sake of posterity, I’m immortalising this data here.
Regardin Scoring system Match 3: Score 3 Match 4: Score 4 1 ball chains with 2 (chain 3): Score 3 1 ball chains with 3 (chain 4): Score 4 2 balls chain with 2 (chain 4): Score 4 2 balls chain with 3 (chain 5): Score 4 3 balls chain with 2 (chain 5): Score 4 In short, the score is determined by the number of total balls matched. You can score either 3 or 4 from a single action, no less (because it is not possible to chain 2) and no more (because it simply seems to be capped at 4). If 3 balls are involved, you will score 3. If more than 3 balls are involved, you will score 4. This is not like traditional zuma. Stacking chains does not induce a score multiplier. Similarly, increasing level does not increase score gained for a chain. Chain 3 will earn 3 points on level 1 or level 3.

Level 1, score 82 Level 2, score 195 Lost level 3, score 290 Received 25 potatoes and a cake. Level 1, score 85. Should have won, but game continued regardless. (See here) Potatoes earned under standard conditions - dataset These games were completed under standard grinding conditions - that is, using some existing knowledge of the scoring system gained from the above dataset, aiming to lose level 3 as fast as possible with a score below 250. Level 1, score 80 Level 2, score 180 Lost level 3, score 247 Received 100 potatoes. Game length 03.16 minutes Level 1, score 97 Level 2, score 198 Lost level 3, score 247 Received 98 potatoes. Game length 03.27 minutes Level 1, score 73 Level 2, score 179 Won level 3, score 287 (whoops) Received 50 potatoes and a cake. Game length 03.01 minutes Level 1, score 85 Level 2, score 184 Lost level 3, score 247 Received 100 potatoes. Game length 03.18 minutes From all of the above, we can conclude the following: There is a minimum score requirement to earn any potatoes at all. This number is most likely exactly 50. The minimum possible earning is 6 potatoes. Scoring exactly or above 250 will result in an immediate and heavy potato penalty, capping potato earnings at a mere 25 potatoes under ordinary circumstances, or exactly 50 under special circumstances. The exact nature of these special circumstances is not yet known, but appears to involve earning a significant number of points in later levels. Alternatively, it may be utterly random. Therefore, avoid scoring above 249 unless in desperate need of cake. Because of this, the most potatoes it is possible to earn in a single game is 100. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, you will earn the same amount of potatoes regardless. Earnings are determined entirely by final score, not how the game came to end. Earnings appear to be either slightly randomised, or dependent upon which level the score is earned in. Let’s examine some of this data more closely, this time breaking down how much of the score was earned in a given level, rather than what the total score was at the end of that level. (This kind of thing is why it’s important to collect all available data, in case you find yourself in need of it later. Be thorough!) Score 234 – 98 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 76 Earned in Lvl 2: 107 Earned in Lvl 3: 51 Score 236 – 94 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 107 Earned in Lvl 2: 105 Earned in Lvl 3: 24 Score 247 – 98 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 97 Earned in Lvl 2: 101 Earned in Lvl 3: 49 Score 247 – 99 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 91 Earned in Lvl 2: 99 Earned in Lvl 3: 57 Score 247 – 100 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 80 Earned in Lvl 2: 100 Earned in Lvl 3: 67 Score 247 – 100 potatoes Earned in Lvl 1: 85 Earned in Lvl 2: 99 Earned in Lvl 3: 63 As suspected, earning a higher score in the later levels, especially level 3, results in a greater payout, even if the final score is otherwise identical. In fact, final score seems far less important than the level in which the score was earned. Consider the first three listed games. A whopping 98 potatoes earned for a total score of 234, a lesser 94 potatoes for a higher total score of 236, and then 98 potatoes again for a higher still total score of 247 - the maximum reasonably achievable without triggering the cake penalty. Upon examination, it’s clear that earning points in level 3 is the best way to gain potatoes, netting a higher gain for an otherwise lower total score. As the cake penalty exists, this means it is beneficial to finish levels 1 and 2 as fast as possible, and taking the time to get the score as high as possible, but below 250, in level 3. Examining the levels in which the cake penalty is triggered, the same pattern emerges. Earning more points later on results in a 50-potato cap rather than a mere 25. With an admittedly very small sample size of 4, and questionably corroborrated by the length of games preceeding this set, which were somewhat experimental and sometimes extended or shortened in length by that experiment: Average game length is approximately 03.15 minutes. Average earnings, taking into consideration the occasional accidental cake-game, is 73 potatoes. This works out at around 24 potatoes/minute. It would take, for example, 12.5 games (or thirteen since it’s not really worth it to play half a game - might as well go all out) to gamble on Bernard’s wheel of chance once. That’s roughly 39 minutes. For one try at the cheapest gambling machine on the whole site - and remember, there are no shops! Gamble or nothing! That is an incredibly slow rate of earning and, in my opinion, a complete and utter waste of time. This game was already a very slow means of earning potatoes, but now that it’s either been nerfed or bugged, it’s even worse than it was before. With turnip theif being a much worse contender still, it is currently not worth the time invested to play minigames unless truly desperate. Given that we currently earn potatoes for posting on the forums, I hypothesise that I will literally earn more potatoes complaining about this game than actually playing it. Discuss.
Great data! Love it! However, the most you can actually get is 325, by getting over 350 points! Haven't timed myself or tried after maxing gifts, but the easiest way to get there is to add a bunch of orbs on level one, and make sure you get 100+ points when clearing. Then proceed the next two levels as normal, keeping an eye to make sure you get to 350 points. Dying on the third level also guarantees no drop cakes!
EY DV blogs, reblog so I can follow you please!
I exist! But same here, following all DV blogs from my main sap88!
Giveaway: Pet Accessory Maker!
Hey there my dear Dappervolk friends, I recently received a pet accessory maker from the slots and I thought to myself, I’m probably not going to use this, so why not try to give it away?
