Where the man you want to bang is across borders, oceans, a
bus ride away, or down the road. Where you find yourself feeling
less and less for your lover as each day goes by and your time
spent together dwindles in to awkward silences or arguments. In
infantile romance where you can finally let down your barriers
and let someone in. When you can’t be bothered to walk to Tesco
to do your shopping so you order a takeaway.
For good or bad, significant or not, distant influences every
aspect of our lives. Convenience when it comes to making deci-
sions.
When you want to hold someone physically but have to make do
with sending pictures of your pale, doughy body across internet
connections and text messages. Yet, to be so close to someone as
to physically have your body inside of theirs.
Travelling a distance from one place to another. Relocating to
be something or be someone and feeling like a failure for being
overwhelmed, friendless and away from home comforts. An
ending; working towards something with a goal or conclusion.
Moving between two places.
Distance permanently occupies your mind. It is the sole reason
for your fears, anxiety, or even joy. Over time these feelings wilt
and exist merely as vague memory or an embarrassed shudder
between colder bones.
