Found this recipe from pancake princess who voted it best in her test. They were good but I have made better recipes before. The recipe made a lot of cookies
Pecan Pie bars
The crust was really really hard to work with. Sticky and hard to spread, it didn’t seem like there was enough of it. The top was super easy. I had my doubts because of the crust but they were delicious and a big hit
Cranberry swirl cheesecake bars
They were good, but the cranberry flavor was pretty faint. I think I would double the cranberry next time. I used regular graham crackers instead of chocolate. Recipe site won’t let me link.
Chocolate Oreo Cake
I used the same chocolate layer cake I always do. I made a simple Oreo American buttercream recipe. Decorated by my kid. It was a crowd pleaser. My only complaint is that it was out of the fridge for a good two/three hours and the frosting was still hard. I wanted it to be solid for the drive over there so I’m not sure if there is a solution.
Lemon and Raspberry Cheese Danish
I cheated and used store bought puff pastry. They came together quick and easy as a result. Considering what a breeze they are they punch way above their weight class, absolutely delicious. Only change I made to the recipe was to zest the lemon before juicing and adding the zest to the glaze. I used the optional jelly (raspberry in this case) too. Highly recommended! I will be making these again.
Sour cream pound cake
Forgot to get a picture of this one. I didn’t have baking spray so used cooking spray and flour which worked but not as well. I served it with fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream. It was good, everyone liked it. But I thought it would be a lighter cake, it was on the heavier side.

I wish I had remembered to take better pictures before just grabbing a slice because this picture doesn’t do them justice. This recipe kind of blew up on Reddit and the hype really is justified. I used dark chocolate and the additional chips. They are so rich and decadent you can’t eat more than one at a time. The best brownie recipe hands down. Definitely my new go to
Lemon Birthday Cake with white chocolate ganache filling and Strawberry Cream Cheese frosting
Decorated by the birthday girl herself. The white chocolate makes it very sweet but it was perfect for the tween palette. I was hoping for more strawberry flavor in the frosting. It was tasty but not that punchy flavor I wanted.
Peanut butter chocolate brownies
I didn’t have the peanut butter chips but it wasn’t a big deal. I liked them but prefer just chocolate. My child on the other hand, said they were the best brownies I have ever made
Chocolate Chip muffins
Delicious and easy. I don’t have the really large muffin tins but Sally’s gives you directions to make them smaller. Would make again, could have used more sugar on the top
Graduation cake
Lemon cake with pineapple curd, orange marmalade, and whipped white chocolate ganache. Decorated by my child using prepackaged fondant and sprinkles.
The lemon cake was delicious, Sally’s rarely disappoints. It worked well with the marmalade. The curd never set up, it was liquidy the next day. I drizzled a bit on top of the marmalade but you couldn’t really taste it. The ganache was delicious but much more difficult to use than I was expecting. I think it was too cold in the room but I’m not sure.
Marble Bundt Cake
Wouldn’t make again. I love Kentucky butter cake and this is supposed to be based off it, you can see the soak seeping into the cake in my picture. The chocolate and vanilla separated in the oven. The chocolate part was okay. But it doesn’t come close to my favorite Kentucky butter cake. Overall a disappointment
Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter ice cream
This was so quick and easy. The chips I used were way too big, when they are frozen they are hard to eat. I think it needs either chocolate or jelly.
Mocha ice cream
The nice thing about making ice cream is that even if it doesn’t come out good, it’s still amazing. My bowl wasn’t cold enough so this never set up like it should. Then I was impatient and didn’t let it totally freeze in the freezer. But it was still absolutely delicious
Chocolate ice cream
Unfortunately forgot to take a picture. It wasn’t bad but I don’t think it had enough chocolate flavor, which is probably my own fault for using milk instead of semi sweet. Most people disagreed with me and thought it was chocolatey enough.
Citrus sherbet
I was originally planning on making orange sherbet but I didn’t have enough oranges so I had to juice some lemons in there too. Definitely not mad about it. It still tasted delicious but it’s tart. Next time I think I should strain out the peel, it kind of clumps up in places. I also added vanilla which was yummy too
