As someone who watched Scott’s pov first for Vampires, seeing everyone else’s INTENSE hatred of Scott Goldsmith is really funny

like from my original perspective Vampires was pretty silly, pretty chill, nothing too crazy happened- and then I go to watch Any Other pov and they’re literally going through hell & nine times out of ten it’s because of Scott Goldsmith

V!Scott was not a reliable narrator in the way that he framed things and I fear it affects me to this day

Turns out it’s really hard to write while watching a movie

I got the funny idea to write a crack fic about v!scott in 2006 getting annoyed at the thermostat not working (of course inspired by my own thermostat being a finicky liar) and sat down to write it this fine Christmas morning

until I remembered that he’s a vampire and that vampires are already dead and cold so why would the apartment being chilly even matter

anyway here’s the singular sentence I wrote before realizing my horrible mistake

Lots of yapping and spoilers about Wake Up Dead Man under the cut

TO PREFACE, I’m agnostic but am super into the Bible/Christianity in an academic/historical sense, so this movie was just the most pleasant surprise

so I went to see Wake Up Dead Man a few hours ago and I have More Than One thought

-When it first started, I wasn’t expecting the setting to be a Catholic Church (I had intentionally gone in entirely blind ((Damascus lol)) and hadn’t seen any trailers)

-Having been brought up Catholic (and in a particularly hard-core church) I felt really immersed in the world of the story because all of the little details and stuff that rang true

-I also liked how the movie wasn’t necessarily saying that having faith was bad but rather that some people use faith to take advantage of others and bring about hatred and hurt instead of love

-I’m trying to say it as a whole felt respectful to everyone — unbelievers and the faithful alike

-DETAILS THAT I LOVED:

-Martha being named Martha; the entire movie something was bugging me at the back of my mind about her name, and later I googled if there was a Martha in the Bible. How could I forget?? She was one of Lazarus’s sisters, as in the guy that Jesus rose from the dead.

-speaking of rising from the dead— I WAS NOT EXPECTING IT TO TURN INTO A HORROR MOVIE FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES?? I may or may not have been sunk as far into my seat as physically possible for the entire duration of that part but I do think it really added to the movie

-me and my bestie were like freaking out the entire time

-I will also say that I clocked Martha as a mastermind or something in the first 10 minutes, sorry but extremely devout old lady who’s in charge of running the church with just That Vibe definitely is capable of some kind of heinous act

-I also liked how by now the audience, having seen the other 2 knives out movies, would be expecting the previous patterns of how the mystery Goes with Benoit Blanc, but then it intentionally went out of its way to kiiind of break the fourth wall acknowledging the pattern and then doing something different

-like THATS how you do a 3rd movie

anyway yeah I liked the movie

Been working on a fic as of late, and while scouring the wiki, I've noticed that most characters in the sasamiyaverse (if that's what it's called) have an animal associated with them (in an official capacity). Such as Miyano - Rabbit, Sasaki - lion, Kagiura - Shiba Inu, Hirano - Wolf.

but I couldn't find any mention of one for Shirahama on his wiki page. Am I missing something? Like is it just floating out there and I haven't come across it yet? Or has harusono-sensei not mentioned what Shirahama's is? If there really isn't anything official, l'd love to hear yalls headcanons because I'm really unsure on what animal he'd be associated with

(And what each character’s animal is may or may not be integral to the concept of the fic I’ve been working on, and Shirahama’s lack of one has been quite the roadblock)

So I don’t know if this is like already a well known theory but I might as well post it anyway,

So Ugawa Sora.

He’s probably some kind of content creator right?

-he always seems to wear masks in public (which is not necessarily indicative of not wanting people to see his face and possibly recognize him, but)

-he goes to the manga convention (can’t remember what it’s properly called) with Sasaki and doesn’t seem to confused(?) or at least seems accustomed to the environment

-Shirahama seems to recognize him

So we know Shirahama plays a lot of games (visual novels/romance if I remember correctly) and in the adult AU he even seems to be a streamer/content creator himself

so we can conclude that Shirahama possibly also in the present canon watches streams or is at least aware of that sort of media. SOO Shirahama might be recognizing Ugawa as a sort of “heyy… wait a minute- isn’t that guy that one guy online??”

in conclusion: Ugawa Sora is a content creator perhaps
