HIS SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCES wouldnât be left unnoticedââââ he was well aware of thatâ but now he would definitely change his mind and his heart for the following decision. mami tomoe has become a friend, a kind heart and gentle nature. they havenât met often, but if he felt like heâd need an adventure, then there it was. it was just only the agreement of his potential companion that was missing.Â

his âtrueâ past would be heavily hinted at the first volume and actually be revealed in the third volume. itâs a huge gap until then but considering future events and interactions with drew, it is still important to write this down and keep it on this blog.
what do we know about drew? regarding his background in the bio, he was adopted by two people when he was abandoned as a baby. by a prostitute you think? yes and no. it was actually a concubine of the summer king. yes, thatâs right: drew is NOT a winterborn. his TRUE descent is from the summer kingdom. but the woman sneaked out of the summer kingdom, heading to the winter kingdom to protect her child. drew was the firstborn and the only child of the summer king, while his other concubines either suffered a miscarriage or were not able to get pregnant at all.
now you ask yourself why thatâs important. drew is IMPORTANT to the summer king. obviously he would know if one of his concubines would bear a child, and if the first child of the summer king would be born, he would bear a curse that is going through the royal generation. curse or diseaseâ drew would not really think he had that curse or feel it, because it is not truly visible or affective when you visit places other than the summer kingdom.Â
so, why did the summer kingdom actually attack the winter kingdom? because the summer kingdom KNOWS ABOUT DREWâS WHEREABOUTS. the summer king may be insane, but thatâs because of the curse. if you know everything about summer, summer is leaned to fire, and fire is the main element of the winter kingdom. that leads us to the fact that fire has aggressive traits on it. the curse that the royal family of the summer generation is bearing is leaning towards an aggressive, insane and yet unhealthy attitude, bearer of this curse cannot lean it down and it will be heritable if you are from the royal descent.Â
okay but why is drew actually the winter fragment? if you know about anouk, the summer fragment, then you may know that anoukâs descent is not even the summer kingdom, but the winter kingdom. it is pretty ironic but your descent has nothing to do with becoming a season fragment. it is more your devotion to the kingdom you are living on. as for maudeâs case, who ran away, she still has a devotion to the autumn country, and as for kisaragi, who didnât run away ever and spent his life in the spring empire, his devotion to the spring empire and thus becoming the spring fragment is pretty much obvious.
actually, anouk x drew was considered the main ship of the novel, but anouk is in fact a lesbian and hates men with a burning passion. both were noted as yin and yang by the ovarine, a matriarchal clan of the autumn kingdom.Â
drew is able to use winter magic because he practiced it at school, it is not in his blood. and for some reason he canât use his fire magic because the winter magic actually overlaps it and thus makes the curse actually âfrozenâ. if his winters would be taken away, he would be able to release the curse and actually use his inherited fire powers.Â
it is hinted that the medoranists know about drewâs true descent but kept it as a tabooâ speak: his parents. drew has a mark on his skin that displays the curse, and the medorianists know the reason behind this. however, they didnât tell anyone about this.
what consequences would be risked by this curse?
the curse would turn drew into a different person. maybe not so cruel as his âtrue fatherâ, but probably very antisocial and aggressiveâ something drew is not in the slightest (heâs actually kindhearted and gentle). he would use his fire magic and maybe even abuse his time/space travel abilities.
