This is a legacy challenge I created to add some more drama and spice to my game while enjoying the many packs and features it has to offer (that I often forget exist)! Feel free to use mods/cc in your games or play completely vanilla. It’s all up to you! In some generations, I will add some mod suggestions that I think would add to the overall experience of that gen, but it is NOT a must! Feel free to alter certain goals to suit your play style as I want you guys to enjoy the legacy and have fun! I hope you guys are ready for some drama & hot tea! 🍵
This legacy is pack heavy (I couldn’t help myself 😭) so feel free to swap out traits, aspirations and goals to something you can do with the packs you own. Some generations are more wholesome than others. Some are filled with drama! If you want to check things off your list, make a copy of the rules to keep for yourself, then you should be able to edit it!

With my favorite season being fall, I wanted to create a mini cozy challenge to do a let's play with! This "challenge" will take you through an autumn bucket list, and all the cozy aesthetics ~ meant to be played during the rainy fall season (at least where I'm from).

Mods (Optional): Shorter University Degrees by The Peridot Project.

Your sim LOVES to read, write, and bake, she also has a small furry companion. Growing up she always loved reading books which led her to majoring in language and literature, with dreams of one day being a best-selling author. She loves all things fall and cozy, and thrives during the season. But not without conditions, she must drink at least one cup of coffee a day and loves visiting new cafes.

I was asked to tell more about the holidays in my legacy gameplay, so here is a super long and detailed post on the subject! 😊
How I use holidays in my game
I used to hate the holidays, cos I saw them as something my sims had to participate in and there was always so much pressure to complete all the traditions! But then I cracked it...
Holidays are a great way to add objectives to gameplay! When every day is some kind of a holiday with its own theme, there's always something for my sims to do.
I tick the "day off" box only if the holiday is a major one or the traditions would feel too rushed if my sim worked on the same day.
I try to have a lot of outdoor/traveling holidays in the spring and summer, and more home lot based holidays in the autumn and winter.
For some holidays, I add a diverse set of traditions and then choose only one or two to complete every sim year.
Sometimes my sims are just too busy with other things in life to participate at all. The No more "awful holiday" sad moodlet mod (linked below) is super useful because it completely takes the pressure off of completing holiday traditions!
It's very refreshing to use custom icons for the holidays, it matters more than you'd think! I use the More selectable icons mod (linked below) for this feature.

If you want to create your own holidays, but struggle with coming up with ideas, here are some things I always consider when I create holidays.
Can you match a world with a season? Summer holidays in Sulani, winter holidays in Mt. Komorebi, etc.
Alternatively, have a summer holiday in Sulani when it's winter elsewhere, a winter holiday in Mt. Komorebi when it's summer elsewhere, etc.
What if you took the default holidays and placed them in a different season? Celebrate Winterfest on the beach in the summer!
Can you match a world with a theme? Nature holidays in Granite Falls, city holidays in San Myshuno, etc.
Think of a simple theme for your holiday (games, sports, food, animals, books, etc.) and choose traditions based on that.
Create a holiday that requires your sim to travel from world to world to complete all the traditions.
Have a 3 day holiday for a vacation trip, with different traditions to complete each day.
Create holidays for specific life stages. What would a teen or an elder sim do for their holiday?
Create a holiday for each occult type. How would a Spellcaster spend their holiday?
Can you think of a way to combine holidays and clubs?
Put two really different holidays right next to each other so you have lots of variety in gameplay.
If you're playing a legacy, create a holiday for each heir sim based on their personality, and have their offspring celebrate these holidays to honor them.
Research real life holidays that are celebrated around the world to find new ideas.

so, i decided to share this to help people who, like me, cannot use relight, but still want their screenshots to look pretty and have better lighting! practically simulating a similar effect.
before we continue; i am a reshade user, but i think this tutorial can also be useful for gshade users, at least when it comes to spotlights. so have fun!
☆ SPOTLIGHT !!
the spotlight it's the best option if you're looking for a soft light source, easy to use and not so heavy, and in my opinion, the closest thing to the relight effect.
you can use the controls to move it (up, down, left, right) and you can also change the color, size, and brightness very very easily!
however, although it allows you to use more than one in the spotlight quantity option, tbh i never understood how it works and it never worked for me, so i decided to just duplicate the files, so you can have as many as you want and separately, which for me is a little better for organizing while taking screenshots.
☆ to do this, you can just go to your shaders folder and look for the spotlight.fx file, then copy the file, rename the copy, and put it in the folder. example;
☆ NICEGUY LAMPS !!
the niceguy lamps is also a good one! it has a much stronger and denser light than the spotlight, but it is just as easy to use and allows you to play around much more with light and shadow.
first, you have a basic panel to control the ambient light (original lighting) and some effects of the lamps you will use. then, you can go to lamp 1 and enable it to see it.
the positioning control here is more refined, so you will have many more options for angle and direction, allowing you to explore freely. and if you don't see the light, don't worry, it's probably just in the wrong direction or angle, just mess around.
everything is very intuitive, which makes it easy to use. and as a bonus, here you can also have multiple light sources much more easily, and control them all equally. although i don't recommend using too many, because it is already a little heavier.
☆ i highly recommend combining the two shaders, using nice guy lamps to dim the ambient light and spotlights to illuminate! they have a very good effect together.
to conclude, i encourage you to play around with your reshade or gshade. take a day just to explore, and you may find something just as good or even better! i hope this has been helpful in some way, and if you have any questions, my inbox is always open!

EA UNLOCKER AND TS4 DLC UPDATER FOR DUMB FUCKS
don't worry, i'm not calling you 'dumb fucks'. it sounds better than dummies, in my humble opinion.
first of all, i would like to send appreciate to @clowwntown for the one to first introduction me into free dlc on sims 4 <3 thank u!
let's start from the very beginning, first... open your laptop and prepare to be sitting here for a while. get a snack maybe, but let's start by opening the first link down below. that is the link to my download of the ea dlc unlocker and ts4 dlc updater.
when you extract the two folders from the zip file (i suggest 7zip), it should look like this.
first go to the ea unlocker, all these steps are important. yet again, this should be in order as if you don't have this enabled first - you won't get any dlc.
click on the setup and enable it, with some pcs and laptops - they could have it blocked. if so, go to the bottom and enable it. there will be a rectangle pop up!
press [1] as you need to install the ea dlc unlocker - then press [2] and you will be met with this pop up!
depending on the game you are playing or wanting the dlc from, press [1] or [2]
and you are all done with the ea dlc unlocker! now to the ts4 dlc updater!
how we doing? good? okay, let's get going to opening the sims 4 dlc updater!
it should look like this, go to the [sims-4-updater-v1.2.3] and it should look like this.
click on [update] on the program, and you will be met with the multiple dlc packs from ts4 - you can download as many as you want.
Hi everyone, I haven't been posting on tumblr lately because I have been sick and also working on a lot of stuff - like learning python and making my spreadsheets better but I felt this was important to post.
It has come to my attention that wcif.cc - that new search engine that popped up for finding sims 4 cc - has stolen their directory of creators straight from my creator spreadsheets. It's my hard work that I put countless hours into creating and updating and I had months of work that was ready to be put out this month, but I've been set back by this because now I have to take measures to protect my work from people like that who rely on webscraping to do their dirty work.
Yes, I may be old school in pouring in the labor - but it's the best way I know to make sure the information is detailed and accurate. And for someone to just scrape that information without any credit or recognition is seriously infuriating.
The evidence is pretty clear to anyone who has seen my spreadsheets, but for comparison here are examples:
No one else has detailed creators lists like me, and I know this because I put in the work and have looked at countless mod and creator recommendation lists by many, many other people. What inspired me to make my lists was actually the cc notion list from sunny's resources - their was was outdated and had a lot of creators that are no longer making content, so I decided to make my own.
If wcif.cc had actually reached out to me for a collaboration or even given me credit, it would be a different story but they decided to just use webscraping and steal all of my hard work instead.
I put in the work to check out every single creator on my lists, I have look through all of their content and do the math to figure out their early access times, especially if the times are not stated clearly. I look through each and every creator to see what type of content they make in order to even put together the specialties columns. I use my own pattern recognition from my brain to see not only who the popular creators are but who the underrated and new creators are so they can hopefully get some visits to their pages because they deserve for their hard work to be seen. This is all done WITHOUT chapgpt or AI of any kind, because I refuse to contribute to harming the environment and real people for something like sims content.
If you care about integrity and honesty then please stop using or supporting their janky ass search engine and I hope you'll instead support me when my own website with my own searchable and filterable creator lists goes live and beyond my spreadsheets.
