Hey Froggie, I was wondering if you had some advice. As you know, having a disability kinda sucks sometimes. I try to be positive and think about what I can do, but sometimes it's hard and I end up thinking about how I'm limited instead. Right now I can't work/study full time, can't drive and I feel really discouraged because I'm young and "should" be out making something of myself. How does one cope with being limited? (hope this doesn't offend, looking for perspective & I really respect you)
I think the first thing you should do is rid yourself of the notion that you must be positive at all times. Having a positive outlook, being a positive personâthese are good things. But requiring yourself to be dandy in a shitty situation at all times is going to end up hurting more than helping.Â
Sometimes you need to get angry. Or sad. Or depressed. Sometimes you need to feel these negative emotions so you can expel them and deal with them. Coping is often just letting yourself feel things without any shame or guilt.Â
The other suggestion I have is to take pride in even the smallest of accomplishments. It used to be that I would beat myself up for not getting a shower. I would be too tired and unable to stand long enough to take one. But now, when I finally do get a shower, I pat myself on the effing back. I let myself feel that small thing as a major accomplishment. And it helps.Â
Just recently I ventured out of the house to see Star Wars. THAT WAS HUGE. I felt terrible afterwards. My life sucked for several days. But damn, my sense of accomplishment was through the roof.Â
I guess Iâm saying you have to adjust your sense of scale. Yes, you have to accept that you arenât going to do all the things able folks can. But that doesnât mean the things you accomplish arenât valid. Stop comparing yourself to them. It is not a competition.Â
Maybe your life wonât turn out the way you thought. But I promise you will adapt. Humans are incredible at adapting. You will find a new path that allows for your disability. You will find new ways to accomplish things big and small. Just give it time.Â
nah I think we should really stop glorifying cigarettes
you sound boring.
You sound like youâve never had the scent of cigarette smoke ingrained in your clothes to the point where people in middle school thought you smoked at eleven because your parents couldnât be bothered to go outside. You sound like youâve never had your mother flick cigarette ashes out of the car window and have them fly into your face. You sound like youâve never been kept up at night by the sound of your dad hacking up a lung because he has to get up for his midnight smoke. You sound like youâve never had to run into a convenience store to get your mother cigarettes as soon as you turned eighteen and cringed at touching the box because you know theyâre not only killers but government sanctioned killers because they can not only tax the shit out of them but ensure people buy more at the cost of young lungs and a once beautiful home now plagued with the smell of smoke and ash. You sound like youâve never had a great grandmother who stopped smoking 30 years before her death who still got lung cancer and subsequently died. You sound like a Fucking ignoramus. Smoking isnât Fucking cool, it isnât fun to glorify, itâs disgusting and makes not only you but your children smell bad. Makes not only you but your children cough, get cancer, get sick.
You sound like a Fucking moron. Smoking isnât cool. Grow the Fuck up.

I fell asleep at 4 this morning so I just set my phone on the window and let it time lapse until it died

There is no egg salad in the Harvest Moon world(s).  Really, itâs such a simple Recipe: Egg and Mayonnaise.  Why, Harvest Moon? Why must you disappoint me so!?  Thereâs so much potential for mayo-based salads: egg salad, tuna salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad⊠I donât know why this bothers me so much but it does⊠Oh, it does! IF YOU WENT TO SAN DIEGO COMIC CON OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS, PLEASE READ.
One of my dearest friends was found on the side of the road, unconscious and bloody. She was wearing this cosplay on the day it happened. She was last seen with friends when she ran off after a disagreement. Please, please, please, if you have ANY information or saw her anywhere, contact her mother. The full information is down below. This isnât okay and itâs sickening to know that this happened at a place people truly can enjoy themselves. Please spread the word.
âI just received a call from the San Diego Police Department and my daughter Emily Weyer aka Milly Makara was found on the side of the road covered in blood with no ID unconscious. They are unsure what happened to her. My husband is on his way to the police station and then the hospital. If you have any information on what happened to her please send me a facebook message or call me at 951 229 3394. Thank you in advanceâ. -JILL WEYER
