Not to be corn-plating this scene, but I LOVE how detailed it is, even without sound.

Pomni looks a bit surprised at the bad roll, looks up a Caine and nervously laughs, maybe a bit worried that it would upset him. She looks over at Ragatha, who says something that makes her burst out laughing!

Caine looks devastated, and from Gangle’s response, says something like “Can I reroll?!”

To which Gangle says “Nope!”

“Ohhhh….”

Ahhh, the DnD experience….

i have to say i LOVE how gangle and zooble went from (rightfully) hating caine to adopting him as their beautiful sapphic relationship's orange cat from the dumpster

Happy pride month everyone!!!

Now that the finale is out I can finally blab about my girlies Ragatha, Gangle, and Pomni (and a bit of Ribbit too because why not).

Ragatha's sudden realisation that she has people in her life who are simply able to love her unconditionally (whilst realising that she is strong, can let go of her regrets, and is able to allow herself to love/trust others again) is beautiful to me.

Gangle's complex feelings about helping someone who hurt her, the trauma of loss (even if its someone who was horrible to you), and the mirroring of these factors and her own mental health struggles (i.e. her getting hit by the truck likely not being an accident) feels very realistic to me. Her story of accepting love, friendship, and community into her life whilst embracing her true self is beautiful to me.

Pomni realising that she is capable of bravery, kindness, and resillience in the face of an incomprehensible situation is beautiful to me.

Ribbit's story about being desperate to salvage a friendship slowly being torn apart due to anxiety and internalised homophobia hit very close to home for me. Despite them not getting a happy ending, Ribbit's story still resonated very deeply with me.

Whilst I still have some problems with the finale like Caine's plotline being a tad rushed, a few plot holes, and some of Jax's plotline needing a bit of cutting down I can't help but love it. Having a cast of characters that includes a number of complicated, messy, queer and/or neurodiverse women means more to me that I can really express and I could probobly dedicate an entire essay to each of them. The only way I can really describe it as is beautiful.

Do me a favor and don’t think about Pomni and Ribbit as obvious proxies for each other, and how embracing Pomni with full trust and vulnerability allows Ragatha to heal from her grief and self loathing while Jax’s failure do the same cemented their downfall AND nearly dragged Ragatha down with them.
