You can register in Ohio if you are 17. You just have to turn 18 before you actually vote.
Do you need an absentee ballot? If you think you might not make to the polls, ask for an absentee ballot. You can mail it up to one day before the election. Ask for one before October 9.

You should know, and you should tell your friends, that there is nothing wrong with filling in a voter registration card even if you are registered already. If you’re not sure, register! If you’re registered already, congratulations, you’ve just updated your record. It’s a good idea to do that every once in a while, so that they have the most recent version of your signature on file.
