It's one thing to be a Tim Drake fan.
That's cool, that's fine, I support you. It's great that you have decades of comics to back up the fact that he and Dick are brothers, and literally anything else that matters about Tim. That's cool, and honestly I like a lot of that too. I think they're really sweet, and I'm glad that the content exists.
It's another thing entirely to claim that Dick & Jason weren't brothers. It's just a straight up lie to say that Jason and Dick aren't brothers or weren't close.
Them?? You're trying to convince me that they didn't have a good brotherly relationship? Dick offering to deal with Bruce if Jason needs him to doesn't count for anything?
"I gave Jason my old Robin costume. I should have been there, Kory." You want me to believe the pack of lies Gotham Knights tried to sell us about Dick never being around? Why would he say "I should have been there" if he never was before? The way he talks implies to me that he usually was and this was the one time he slipped up (even though it absolutely wasn't his fault).
You really read Titans #55, saw Dick crash out like this, and concluded that he and Jason weren't close? Like. how. just. how.
How about Dick's irritation/frustration/upset at Bruce throughout Batman: Year Three? His repetitions that Bruce didn't try to contact him, and the fact that he was upset about that? The fact that he lingers on Bruce packing away all signs of Jason? None of that clued you in to the fact that he loved that kid?
"He never called to tell me." He says almost those exact words twice. If he didn't care, if he didn't regard Jason as a brother, why would it matter that Bruce didn't tell him? Like, I know that they didn't have many on-page interactions prior to Jay's death, but c'mon guys.
And this is all just contemporary stuff! Do you want me to pull out later comics? I'll pull out later comics.
Let's talk about how Dick hallucinated Jason and was happy about it. Let's talk about how Dick was so happy to mess around and banter with Jason again, even though it was fake. Let's talk about how he absolutely could have conjured up Tim for this sequence and instead his mind presented him with a ghost of Jason. If he really was never close with Jason, why hallucinate spilling his history to the kid? Why not Tim? It's not like Dick's never hallucinated Tim before - Tim shows up in his nightmare in Nightwing (1996) #10, more than Jason even! But no! No, Dick gets to see and tell his stories to Jason!
How about Joker's Last Laugh? Dick was winding down. He was going to leave Joker battered but alive until the loser said Jason's name. It started for Tim. It ended for Jason.
How about the ski trip photo? This is proof of, if nothing else, the fact that they had more of a relationship than we had time to see. Jason's time as Robin before his death was so short, and Dick was featuring in Titans the whole time. There wasn't a Nightwing solo series for Jason to appear in (unlike Tim) and there wasn't a Robin solo series for Dick to appear in (unlike Tim). Jason was only around for so long, and Dick was needed for other stories, so their relationship had to be implied more than shown, and it is.
So when Gotham Knights rolls up with this:
Please know that, like roughly 90% of everything said about Jason after 1990, it's a lie. Dick and Jason were brothers, they did love each other, and the fact that they don't have a ton of pre-death canon interactions means nothing compared to what we see from Dick after Jason's death.
If DC can retcon Jason and Barbara into being friends after they didn't interact even once when Jason was initially Robin, they can embrace the fact that the overwhelming majority of Dick's mentions of Jason after his death imply that they were close.
