im enamored by dolomite's backstory and the way it was presented btw it feels just. dreamlike. or a fairy tale of some kind. he and his lover are having a normal albeit romantic conversation, fantasizing and romanticizing the unrealistic, until she wanders off a puts herself in lethal danger. he saves her, permanently injuring himself in the process, and watches as she wanders off like a child, unaware of the tragedy that just occurred. i didn't even consider she could've been blind before checking the wiki about the thing because it was presented in such a strangely captivating way. even in-universe it doesn't feel like a real event that took place and yet. i love it a lot for some reason i can't help myself

this just. gives me immense jolyne vibes. it's the look he gives in the face of immediate danger really. honestly it's more of a joestar thing i imagine and i just associate it with jolyne due to the evolution of the art style and my general stone ocean brain worms but i really appreciate it as a detail. idk if it was even a conscious and deliberate decision or if this is just how araki draws his protagonists facing danger but at any case i appreciate it a lot
