"if Jax is a trans woman she's still an abuser so she's bad representation so the show is transphobic" you're an idiot. you want your blorbos to be perfect ideal angels, I want my blorbos to be realistic, nuanced, flawed human beings, we are not the same. I LIKE that she's messy and fucked up and problematic, I think it's a realistic depiction of how a lot of repressed and traumatized trans women are. I think the show goes to great lengths to explore how and why she is the way she is, and to evoke sympathy for this kind of person. it doesn't excuse her actions but it does make them understandable. and I think the fact women like that deserve sympathy is an idea worth stating and worth shouting. yes she's a bully and she hurt everyone around her and that may never change. she still deserves sympathy.

Digital circus' biggest problem is that it was written to be a niche show aimed at weird analytical queers with actual media literacy and it accidentally blew tf up and hit the mainstream and a bunch of people who have never had a second thought about anything got into it

y'all i'm irritated as fuck. i'm over "suicidal character dies" happening over and over. imo the message would have been stronger if pomni got through to jax and she didn't fully abstract. like hey actually traumatized trans people don't deserve to die but okay

after also recently experiencing the good omens finale where the suicidal queer character decides to end their immortal existence, this has, indeed, been...a lot.

my only hope here is that now with caine no longer being an egomaniacal leader, and all of them now having the ability to rebuild and generate in the space, i feel like there still may be some way for jax to come back.

maybe pomni got to her early enough and there's still time to reverse the damage, even if we didn't see that. maybe part of reversing the abstraction damage means going into the person's mind like pomni did and helping them process and uncover the shit they buried.

i'm just gonna live in delulu land about it and believe there's still hope for her because i can't bear to see my sweet precious girl not able to eventually be who she is and experience forgiveness for the hurt she caused because she was just so deeply repressed.
