This is Pamukkale it's on a plateau 328ft over a valley. It's been created over the centuries by hot mineral cascade transforming calcify carbonate Pamukkale means cotton castle
This is were we stayed Monday. The down stairs was lovely and so was the spa bath. The rooms were ok the bathroom not very good
A few bits in the museum as well as some more of the city
This is the city of Aphrodisis the first photo shows a bit of her temple. It has been put back together. The city was very large a would have been a wonder to see. It was build in a valley. The mountains around it are full of marble. So the city was built of it.

We went to mosque the top photo was taken from the grounds of St. John It was once a church but was changed many years ago
This is were we had our lunch today it was on route to Aphrodisis
This is the church if St John. He was buried here and the photo with the 4 pillars is were he was laid to rest. He bones are no longer there but there is a small plaque. St. John had come here with Mary but as they were bring pursued Mary had a house build in a forest across the valley the other side of the hills. The castle in the distance was a bolt home for those that love in and around the church. They could hide out there because Christians were boing put to death. It's amazing to see. The model shows how they thought it would have been. They are still uncovering pArts. They recently found a beautiful mosaic floor but it was covered so we could not see it.
A truly amazing place to visit. Our guide told us many stories. There were hundreds of cats in these ruins. All quite friendly. Ephesus has a mighty theatre 2nd to bottom left. Marble walk ways the 2nd to bottom right is called harbour walk as it did go to the harbour. The bottom photo is of the library of Celsius and to the right an entrance gate. With a story to tell.
Sunday. Wet again. This place is amazing. For info on it it would be best to search the internet. It's called Ephesus. It must have been a wonderful place in its day. So much to see and so much left to discover. I think it will take many years to uncover.
This is our hotel for the weekend it's called sea light. The first photo is the view from our window. It's a very nice hotel. Largest one do far
Will write about the village above later. This is the room of our 3rd hotel and some of the puddings on offer the photo on the right is what I had
