Is it possible for a different country to intervene like that if the person carries its citizenship/nationality? If they do intervene, do the US people have the option to ignore their request or do they have to comply with it?
It definitely is possible, Italy specifically has done it many times before and currently is in process of extraditing a citizen from Egypt who is over charged. They can put pressure politically, invoke international laws but it's upto the US courts to comply but putting pressure would be a very very big deal.
Oh, I know about that! Also named Luigi, no? I really hope they manage to save this guy and take him back to Italy safe and sound. I read every word and I'm very grateful to you and to the person who recounted their experience because this almost made me feel like I was actually there.
It's really relieving to know that things were better in the federal court like that, and again, not like we needed proof, but Luigi not being shackled, manhandled or towered over this time further proves the unnecessary cruelty that was enforced on him by the NY court cops and judge who are obviously, disgustingly, openly biased. Anyway, I hope the organization and respect in the federal court encourages more supporters to come to future hearings and physically be there for Luigi.
It broke my heart so much to read about him looking smaller than he appears, thinner... I know he's not exactly on vacation, but I'm still hoping he can find a way to take good care of himself and his health as much as he can in there...
And yes, his friendship with Sophia is amazing! That really warms your heart, knowing he now not only has caring older lawyers, but also a paralegal his age with whom he has actually stricken up a friendship. He's awesome. Just building friendships wherever he steps foot because of how good of a person he is. Again, I adore Karen and Marc. If this really is a terrorist/murderer in your eyes, you don't go and let your daughter joke around with him.
Also, I'm again bound to admire Luigi's resilience, because handcuffs or not, he's still in federal court pleading against extreme charges being thrown his way and his demeanor is nothing short of laudable tbh.

The NY DAs office was listening in on Karen and Luigi's calls, they sent feds to do their bidding in the fed court, the judge asked for an explanation and those 2 have been publically contracting each other and retracting their own statements for the past 2 days 😭😭😭
Btw new federal judge is unbiased asf and it's a breath of fresh air !!!! She even told the prosecutors off and told them to shut up AG and people in charge

Yessss, I was watching the Reddit thread live during the arraignment, fully prepared to cry again, but she actually turned out to be a rational, neutrally fair person!
