Got the idea to draw this when i was looking through my old art from last year

Haruichi🦌

#kaiju no 8 #kaiju no.8 #kaiju no.8 fanart #kaiju no 8 fanart #kn8 #haruichi izumo #somewhat of a continuation from the last post??#after reading some tags and giving it some thought i have decided on deer Haruichi #drew two types of deer but im leaning more towards Japanese Deer Haruichi #he looks majestic somehow #its definitely the antlers #havent been drawing much as of late save me #art block still has me in a chokehold #i would ask to give me some ideas in my mailbox but im not even sure if i’ll actually draw it💀

What animal i think some members of the third division would be :

( this is just my own personal opinion, chances are i might change my mind on what animal they might be so these aren’t fixed opinions per say )

Kafka : Bear. Self-explanatory, I don’t think I need to explain.

Mina : Black Panther. Honestly I can see her be any sort of feline, it was either a tiger or a black panther. Either way works.

Hoshina : Fox, i’m sure it’s also self-explanatory.

Aside from the first three, I’m still unsure as to what specific animals the others are.

Reno : Canine. I think a canine would suit him given how loyal he is. He would definitely be an animal suited for winter or cold climates.

Shinomiya : Rabbit. Given her small size and how quick she is, I can see her being a rabbit.

Iharu : Canine ( specifically a dog breed ). What else would he be?

The last two ( especially Haruichi ) were the hardest to pick,

Aoi : Canine(?). He’s loyal and can be a bit of a lone wolf sometimes. Honestly other than that i’m unsure what else he could be. Initially I thought of some type of muscular animal such as a Kangaroo but I can’t make up my mind so I chose canine since it’s a relatively safe choice and still suits him. This is also mainly based on their personality or build cause if it excludes those then he would be a hamster since that’s his favorite animal.

Haruichi : Antelope species. HE’S THE HARDEST TO FIGURE OUT. I only chose the antelope species as he jumps around alot during missions. Also because while looking at some fanart, the artists I follow usually drew him as some horned animal such as a goat, antelope or deer. I can see why but it’s hard to pinpoint which of the three suits him the best.

Feel free to add on your thoughts or give your own personal opinions, i would like to hear them ^^

Currently facing art block so i’m just gonna yap about some of my favorite dialogues/interactions of Haruichi and Aoi from the Kn8 game ( + other things ) :

Starting off with flustered Aoi because it’s not often you see a change in expression or tone coming from a stoic guy like him,

“But please go easy on me”, I almost had a heart attack when I read that. I know I probably mentioned a few times of how cute Haruichi can be ( especially in the game and tomodachi life ) BUT AOI IS ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL WHEN HE SAYS SOMETHING LIKE THIS. Can’t forget the fact that his likes include sports ( which makes sense given he’s athletic ), history novels ( and he’s a history nerd ) and HAMSTERS ( AUGHH ). He can be cool and cute, he truly is the goat. I mostly draw Haruichi but Aoi is actually my number one favorite. Haruichi is still Top 2 regardless.

If I had to explain it, it would probably be like this :

Aoi -> Favorite character due to looks and personality, also the first character i took interest in when I first watched the anime

Haruichi -> Favorite character to draw, I love his complicated relationship with his father, he also holds angst potential which I love. Admittedly I do prefer his merch over Aoi mainly because he looks smug but I tend to collect them as a pair ( I feel bad if I seperate them ).

Okay moving on;

Whiny Haruichi,

Not sure if he actually is or it’s just Aoi’s way of teasing Haruichi, but the fact Aoi said it twice in 2 different occasions is enough to convince me that Haruichi does in fact whine but only when he’s with Aoi. Whether it’s unintentional or as a joke, he definitely does it enough where Aoi would tease him about it especially during training or missions.

Next up would be some extra facts about them that weren’t mentioned in the anime or the manga;

An example would be on how Aoi actually played basketball in the nationals which is pretty insane and it also explains on how basketball is one of his favorite sports. Another one would be about Haruichi’s lessons he took growing up AND THERE’S ALOT. I also just realized that since he took English lessons, he could speak English with Shinomiya ( they could even spill tea without worrying that others might eavesdrop on them ).

Last but not least;

GAY INTERACTIONS. Maybe not explicitly gay BUT THE TENSION IS THERE ESPECIALLY IN CHAPTER 10.

I know Haruichi in this screenshot is already somewhat exposing him cause this implies he was talking highly about Aoi ALOT to Chester BUT AOI WAS WAY GAYER THAN HIM IN CHAPTER 10 THAT IT WAS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE. I would have make a separate post dedicating on how in love Aoi is with Haruichi cause it would not fit within this post especially with the photo limit. The best I can summarize is with these 2 screenshots.

“And I’ll get so far ahead, you’ll never catch up.”

“Will you? I look forward to it.”

HE SMILED.

HARUICHI WAS SAYING ON HOW HE’LL BECOME SO STRONG THAT AOI WONT CATCH UP AND HE SMILED.

YOU CAN’T TELL ME HE ISN’T IN LOVE WITH THAT GUY.

Also I don’t have enough space to put in more screenshots but after every mission or some sort of competition between Haruichi and Aoi, Aoi would say “As expected of my rival..” okay we get it you love him.

I am a strong believer that Aoi fell first and the entirety of Chapter 10 just strengthened that.
