The fact that Harry shouted at Eggsy for not being able to shoot his dog has so many layers to it. He’s not as hard as he pretends to be, and Eggsy knows that when he takes a trip to the pet shop to get a terrier puppy. 

Harry did shoot his dog. But it traumatized him to the point where it causes enough pain for him to trigger his memories. There’s distinct horror but resignation in his younger self’s face when he points the gun at a wagging Mr. Pickle. There’s utter relief and joy in his expression when he scoops up Mr. Pickle and cradles him to his chest, kissing him on the forehead. There’s the vehement denial in his voice when he shouts at Eggsy, present day: “It was a blank! It was a fucking blank! I would never hurt Mr. Pickle!”

Harry’s not hard-hearted. Eggsy knows about that, and not just because he’s seen the younger, softer version of a lepidopterist wannabe. He remembers his own agony over shooting JB, Harry’s kindness towards the young man with potential from the estates, and their short time spent together. Harry’s still an agent, but he’s human, too, and is very capable of great emotion and affection. 

It’s not the trauma of a mere test that brings Harry back. It’s love. Something Eggsy recalls very well.

#Hannibal’s hands were very telling in this scene#he fidgets and touches the phone thinking of calling WIll but deciding against it#He chooses to go to Will#drive the long drive to the FBI#and find what out why Will wasn’t there for their session#Hannibal’s body language was absolutely beautiful#and really conveyed just how disappointed he was that Will wasn’t there and how much he wants Will to be there#WITH him

It’s the most beautiful depiction of loneliness I’ve seen. Framed by Franklyn asking if loneliness comes with a dull ache. UGH, kill me.

it’s funny ‘cuz the only time you see hanni doing this micro-fidgeting thing is when he feels threatened (and being hanni: thinks he’s going to have to kill someone), but here he’s being threatened by his own loneliness/fear of abandonment so he’s totally helpless.

(I would say he’s better off eating his feelings, but- er… ʘ_ʘ)

also, confession time: it totally made my stupid fangirl heart go pitterpatter when hanni went to investigate and we found out it was all okay - will didn’t forget, he wasn’t being blown off - and then, even better, they got to go ripper-hunting together and hanni got his surgeon awn right in front of him ugh >_< it was like will stood him up for a weekly date but then they went on a spontaneous date-night adventure together and it was 100% more awesome than it would’ve been if he’d just shown up in the first place srsly you guys it was so f an f i c

It was because he knew, he knew if he called he wouldn’t get to see Will. It would be an “Oh man, I forgot, or I was asleep, or I was busy, I’m really sorry, I’ll see you next week” conversation. Hang up.

AND HANNIBAL WOULDN’T GET TO SEE WILL.

AND AT THIS MOMENT. HE WANTS TO SEE HIM. AND HE WANTS TO SEE HIM TONIGHT. SO HE DOESN’T CALL. HE DRIVES THE HOUR AND A HALF.

BECAUSE HE JUST HAS TO SEE HIM. BECAUSE HE WAS ALL SET TO SEE WILL AND HE’LL BE DAMNED IF HE DOESN’T. HE JUST HAS TO.  KILL ME.
