I'm confused by people saying Liam Hemsworth had no chemistry with the other cast. Like.
That's a perfectly fine screen kiss. I suppose.
But.
Excuse me? That man went in tongue first.
Which, first of all, S4 gave us an actual intimacy scene, rather than snatches of conversation supposedly between rounds of sex.
Secondly, that scene is lovely. It's soft and sensual, glowingly lit and set to a wistful acoustic song that talks about fate and being together. Yennefer is on top and her tits aren't out. She's depicted boldly in her pleasure, and Geralt is actually angled away from the camera during the actual intercourse shown.
He's looking up at her, holding her close. These are familiar lovers, connecting and seeking comfort in each other.
And look, I'm extremely Demi, and most sex scenes are absolute trash to watch. Bridgerton, I'm looking at you. Don't even start with me on GOT. Outlander? I don't know her. They're so focused on taking something from the woman in the scene, whether it's her virtue or the control of the encounter or hell, just straight up SA. And people gobble that shit up!
So here you've got the titular action hero character giving in a sex scene that's not exploitative or lurid. It's beautiful visually and thematically.
So, fine, if you prefer the other guy. But don't dress it up as having chemistry vs. not having chemistry when all we got for 3 seasons was dry smooches and implied romping because Teefs McGee was anti-touching-a-girl. Hell, Anya Chalotra herself said in an interview with Liam Hemsworth that he brought "calm" and "safety" to the role that both she and her character needed.
So actually, I lied. I'm not confused. I just think that people arguing about chemistry just want to rip on Hemsralt and I'm here with receipts about it.
