As someone who grew up with Pokemon, Kirby and Megaman, I really have a lot of feelings around Satoru Iwata, Hal Laboratory, Warpstar Inc, and Nintendo. I wanted to create a piece about Mr. Iwata to pay my respects to a man who I feel has always put the fun in games at the forefront of his projects. I hope I have been able to do him and his creative drive justice in this piece.

Reworking this piece, now with some photobashing and overpainting and tweaks.

I’m not really sure if there is anything else I want to do with this piece, but I think I’ve finally reached a point where I really like the whole thing.

It occurs to me that I should really create a space that only has my art on it, rather than it being an amalgamation of the things I like, my inspirations, and my art. I will be figuring out how to transition this to such a space, or transition another blog by swapping urls with one of my unused sideblogs. In the meantime, there will be less inspiration posts here, and more of just my work!
A quick couple of WIP renders of a current project, imagining a Pokemon Center as it could exist in real life, based on the game models from X and Y, I think. Starting to work out materials now, and figuring out how to light the billboard.
I’m sort of feeling like the doorway is a bit wide for the rest of the proportions.

This is what I’ve got with some reference photos I took of a friend and two more hours. I think I need to exaggerate the perspective on the character still.
Been struggling with this for far too long and it’s supposed to be at like 50% by this afternoon. Well... far too long meaning the 3 hours I’ve finally been able to start working on this project....
I’m gonna let it rest because it’s obvious I’m not going to be able to get anything else out of this now.
Here’s a rough model I’m gonna take into Mudbox tomorrow. Did most of my prep... But after spilling tea all over my tablet, I gotta wait for it to dry out.
To clarify, it’s emergency sketch commissions(sorry these examples are shit). Normally I would refrain from taking commissions while having others from my previous batch being unfinished, but this is kind of an emergency, and commissions are currently my only source of income. Rent needs to be paid for next month so that I can move out, but I can’t cover it by myself with my finances the way they are now, and my roommate is unable to pay me back for any of it. My goal is to bust out as many as I can, so I can at least ease the hit my finances are inevitably going to take.

This is an illustration/master’s study I’ve been working on. Where it stands now is what I submitted for a fan art competition through Ubisoft (where it is titled “Legacy”), but I’m going to continue on with it.
I need to rework some aspects of it before I do, and will post a better progress report as I continue.
The references I have used are Giampietrino’s study of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper, as well as Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper. The characters are referenced from official concept art and game screenshots from various Assassin’s Creed games.
