The Sea Organ is situated on the western end of Zadar´s Riva, and can be observed as several stairs that descend into the sea.The organ looks like a series of broad steps leading down into the water, but there´s actually very clever engineering hiding under the surface. The lower steps allow water and air to flow in. That water and air is then funneled into resonant chambers under the steps, and pushed out through the channels on the upper stairs, seen here. These cause the chime-like notes to be produced. Because the sea is always shifting and changing, the sea organ never sounds exactly the same twice. Each sound you hear is completely unique. (Source)
OMG this is in my country! I was there, lemme tell you, sitting there at sunset, listening to the sounds easily mistaken for mermaid’s songs, smell of the sea and lavander surounding you, and you’re basically breathing in the history of the city that lies behind you as you stare at the rippling water. Magical.
Got to go visit. Sounds amazing!
I need to go there
Manukura is a white kiwi bird, the only known white kiwi in the world. She was born at the National Wildlife Centre Pukaha, in New Zealand.
So I’m just chilling out in the same room as my little brother, and all of a sudden I just hear him whisper, “Shit, man…”
I look over and he’s having some sort of quiet emotional meltdown over Your Lie in April. (⊙_⊙)
So my friend bought a bone ring in Denmark from a guy who said it was good luck. He’s been sleeping with it for a few nights and has been having stressful dreams. Last night he had a dream he was being attacked in his room by an unknown entity. As he tries to crawl away, the entity stomps on his hand. He wakes up because of the pain and the ring has snapped in half. Can anyone tell me what the symbols are? I’ve been searching for hours and as far as I know they’re not Scandinavian runes. We also don’t know if it’s actual human bone…

We need these everywhere!
Along the wild Pacific coast of British Columbia, there lives a population of the sea wolves. “We know from exhaustive DNA studies that these wolves are genetically distinct from their continental kin,” says McAllister. “They are behaviourally distinct, swimming from island to island and preying on sea animals. They are also morphologically distinct — they are smaller in size and physically different from their mainland counterparts,” says Ian McAllister, an award-winning photographer who has been studying these animals for almost two decades.McAllister captured the magic of these wolves in breath-taking pictures.
As he swam towards them, “the curious canines approached him so closely that he could hear them grunting into his snorkel. He took several frames, then pushed back into deeper water without daring to look up,” writes the bioGraphic. One could almost call these sea wolves pescatarians – 90 percent of their food comes directly from the ocean, with a fourth of it coming from eating salmon. On top of having distinctive food patterns, sea wolves are also excellent swimmers, with their farthest record being swimming to an archipelago 7.5 miles from the nearest landmass. (Source)
