The Girl with the Red Cloak
Wherever she danced, warmth spread, and her light poured down from her sun. Solara never broke a sweat, and once the inaudible music in her mind ended, she finished her dance with a pirouette and paused. The applause around her surprised her, but with years of practice, she took it in stride and waved to everyone. She noticed one girl in particular that kept staring at her, ever after everyone else turned away to go back to their business.
The blonde flashed a smile her way, before beckoning her over.
Even though the light that seemed to radiant off of the woman stung her eyes, the young woman looked back to her whenever she could. At first she tried to hide it, but, after a while she stopped carry if she, or anyone else for that matter, saw her. And, when she stopped, she clapped right along with everyone else, even though her clapping was done with her eyes squinting closed.
However, once she opened her eyes, she saw that the woman was looking towards her as well. Dark eyes blowing wide, she immediately shook her head out of instinct.
āNo⦠no, no, no, you donāt mean meā¦' She thought hurriedly.
Solara smiled and beckoned again. She wished to talk to this mortal who seemed to be drawn to her. She was the only one who seemed to have troubles looking at her directly for long periods, though that would have just made her the smarter of the group of mortals that had collected around her.
When the girl in red still didnāt come closer, Solara chose to take a few steps closer herself, dimming her inner light down just enough so the mortal didnāt have to look away every few seconds.
She beckoned again.
