Well it being black history month is reminding me how I wanted to doodle something like this down for a while. Since it’s been a lil detail I always take notice of in drawings. These are very simple depictions but I hope it’s enough to give the general idea! Feel free to reblog

Top level is the common depiction of using light pink to color it. So no melanin? typically not how most scars look. Of course there’s the condition of raised scars or stretch marks which could look lighter! Next row is showing how they are when scabbing which is reddish and dark. Third row is an aged, finished scar. Burns are marbled in look. They're darker than the skin tone. Last row shows how a fully or nearly fully healed scar, it's lightly visible but still darker than skin tone. Right illustration is a torso with scars with a diagonal cut to show the difference between left and right side. Left has pink light scars, healing? Or just an oversight? Right has darker colored scars. Normal. Same applies to top surgery scars. For recent surgeries that alter the areola, it is pink as it heals (nipples are pigmented on dark skin btw so it’s a weird look) After full care and recovery they’ll look normal (dark). The KIDS act is under consideration for next weeks house vote. Which will be happening Monday at the earliest
It seems that the KIDS act will be “Legislation considered under suspension of the Rules”
This basically means
“Under suspension, floor debate is limited, all floor amendments are prohibited, points of order against the bill are waived, and final passage requires a two-thirds majority vote.”
The reason why it’s happening as soon as Monday is because it’s under suspension and “Under the rules of the 119th Congress, motions for suspension of the rules are allowed only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays”
Under suspension is usually done to quickly pass bills “ which enjoy broad, bipartisan support.”

Please read this because it is EXTREMELY important me (a transgender man) and to other trans individuals.
The US Government is currently trying to pass an incredibly dangerous national law for trans youth called HR 2616.
This bill would ban all Federally funded schools from teaching about gender identity or sexual orientation, prevent teachers from using the correct pronouns and names for trans students, remove books with any trans representation in them, and even go as far as to prevent teachers from acknowledging trans identity AT ALL.
Any school that does not follow this will lose all federal funding. This bill would also require teachers to forcibly out trans students to their families, which would be fatal to any trans student with a transphobic Family or just hateful family in general. Trans people are already a group that already has some of the highest rates of being victim to suicide, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
This bill actively makes teachers put those innocent children at such a big risk. This bill has rapidly passed the house this week with support from all 209 republicans, as well as 8 democrats. But, it's still being voted on in the senate, which means there is still time to help stop this.
To help stop this, you can visit 5calls.org (look up 2616 in the search bar), one of the most top issues filed Oppose Attacks on LGBTQ+ Students. Once you put in your general location, it will pull-up contact information for your senator, and give you a script for calling them.
If you are a minor and/or do not feel comfortable doing this, PLEASE repost this on here, or any other platform you are on/can find! This needs to be heard and fought against.
