How is it you have come to such a good level of faith and biblical understanding? I have been struggling with keeping a strong faith and connection to God. I work in the trades, and with that there is a lot of crudeness, swearing, sinning (I am pretty much the black sheep at work) I am finding it difficult to build my faith in such a setting. Do you have any suggestions or tips you could give to help my faith flourish and bring back the strong connection I had to God back? God bless!
Hello friend,
Your struggles are not uncommon. Many people deal with the same things with their relationship with Christ. Here is what I try to help them understand. You are in a relationship. And your relationship with your God is no different than your relationship with any other person. If you want to awaken love and passion that leads to faith it will take effort and intentionality. I think a good place to start is the 5 love languages.
1. Quality time
Spend time with God daily, praying, worshiping, and reading His word. You cannot expect anything to flourish that you haven’t given time to.
2. Acts of Service
Serve God by serving His people. Go out of your way to help others for the glory of God. be radical in your service, after all The Lord came to us to be a servant of all, not to be served. Helping your faith flourish starts with making sure you and Him are on the same page. He wants to serve, give yourself to doing the same.
Ask for His service. He delights in serving you. Put yourself in a position to need God and ask Him to serve you in a way that will increase your love and faith in Him. He is so moved by people that want to see Him work in their lives.
3. Gifts given
Be extravagant in your generosity to God and to His people. This will help you in two ways. 1. It will allow you to share His heart and bring you two closer together. 2. It will create investment within you. When you are giving to something then it becomes a part of you and you become invested in seeing it succeed.
Explore His gifts and promises. There are gifts He wants to give you and many He already has. Begin to interact with those things and meditate on how you can see those gifts manifested in your life. This will lead to a heart of gratitude through which we enter His courts.
4. Words of affirmation
You were made in God’s image therefore your words have a creative force. The Bible doesn’t say that He thought the world into existence but rather He spoke it into existence. Speak out your love for Him and how good He is. It is awkward at first but continue to press into it and once you get used to it, you’ll see how incredibly powerful it is.
Look for His voice. God is constantly speaking. The word says that His thoughts for us outnumber the grains of sand on the shore. We just have to be positioned in a way to hear what it is He is saying. Block out distractions and focus on Him and He’ll speak to you.
5. Physical Touch
I put this one last because it gets a little tricky, but its probably one of the most important. While God does not have a tangible body, it doesn’t stop Him from being physical with us. Ask for His Presence to dwell with you in a tangible way. Ask for an ability to sense Him and to know He is near by the changes in the atmosphere. Ask for an awareness of Him.
Please keep us posted on your journey with Him. I am excited for the new found impact you will have from and with Him.
Be blessed

In scripture, many times people would come against Jesus and criticize Him. Many times it says, “Jesus answered them not a word.” He simply didn’t respond to His critics. He didn’t try to convince them to change their minds. He didn’t get upset because somebody was talking about Him. No, He just ignored it.
When people come against you and they’re jealous, trying to make you look bad, trying to discourage you, remember you’re in good company! Jesus was probably criticized more than anyone else. I love the fact that He didn’t try to explain Himself. He didn’t try to make everyone understand Him. He just stayed focused on what He was called to do. He simply ran His race.
Friend, Jesus set the example for you and me. We don’t have to try to win the approval of others. We have to understand that not everyone is going to understand us. Our focus should be on following God’s leading and let Him order our steps. The next time someone criticizes you, remember the example of Jesus. Overlook it, don’t get offended, and keep moving forward in the destiny God has for you!
He chose you to be His ambassador, His representative on the earth. God created you to reflect His glory. He created you to reflect His character, His righteousness, His holiness. Think about that for a moment. Part of your purpose on this earth is to be a representative for the King of kings and the Lord of lords. That should make you want to walk a little differently. It should make you want to talk differently. It should make you think a little more carefully about the places you go and the things you do.
Are you representing God’s holiness today? Remember, God will equip you to do whatever He’s called you to do. If there are things in your life that you need to change, God wants to empower you to overcome those things. Receive His strength and might today so that you can walk in holiness as His ambassador and live the destiny He has prepared for you.
Is masturbation a sin? I have been getting this question a lot lately and so I’ll try to answer it as thoroughly and as correctly as I can.
Masturbation is never mentioned in the bible (in Hebrew and Greek). Although it was never mentioned in the bible, it still isn’t something a Christian...
One night I had a dream— I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints, one belonged to me and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. “I don’t understand why in times when I needed you most, you should leave me.” The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. “When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

Pleasant words are as honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body” (Proverbs 16:24).
Do you look for good things to say about yourself and others? Are you speaking pleasant words? The Bible tells us that pleasant words are healing to the body. Do you need healing in your body—physically Spiritually? Emotionally? Your words can bring that healing.
Start speaking pleasant words—words of life, encouragement, and thanksgiving. Guard your heart by making sure you are only listening to pleasant, life-giving words. If there’s something on the TV or radio that isn’t bringing life to your soul, turn it off. If someone’s having a conversation that’s not uplifting or productive, don’t be a part of it. Choose to meditate on God’s Word which, according to Hebrews, is living and active and full of pleasant words. As you choose life by choosing life-giving words, you’ll see God’s healing operating in your life. You’ll feel strength and peace in your soul, and you will move forward into the abundant life God has in store for you!

When something is toxic, it’s poisonous; it can destroy you. When we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can’t do or how we’ll never get ahead, those thoughts are toxic thoughts. Toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste that sinks into your heart. It will eventually contaminate your whole life. It affects your self-image. It affects your attitude, your level of confidence, and ultimately, your success. That’s why the scripture says to guard your heart because the condition of your heart and mind determine the condition of your whole life.
Make the decision today to detox any negative, self-defeating thoughts by meditating on God’s promises instead. Make the decision to detox bitterness, detox low self-esteem, detox negative words that may have been spoken over you, detox condemnation. Make the decision to dwell on what God says about you. God says, “You are forgiven.” God says, “Your best days are in front of you.” God says, “I’ll restore the years that the enemy has stolen.” As you detox your mind and fill your thoughts with His promises, you’ll see His hand of blessing on your life. You’ll rise up higher, and you’ll live the abundant life He has for you!
Anything a guy could read or something to get over the addiction of pornagraphy
I can tell you from experience that it will be a lifelong battle. I pray every morning for the Spirit to protect me from the sin of lust (both of the heart and the eyes). Prayer and reading the bible is what I do to help me with this battle. I recommend finding a close Christian friend that could keep you accountable where you can call him if you are feeling tempted. There are a lot of good sermons about this topic. Search for Mark Driscoll and his sermons on pornography. He hits the nail on the head with the addiction of pornography. Don’t feel discouraged because I know it is a struggle. Remember that we don’t purposely sin against God, but he gives us Grace for when we do mess up. Find peace in that :) God bless!
What does God think about Dating ?
Although the words “courtship” and “dating” are not found in the Bible, we are given some principles that Christians are to go by during the time before marriage. The first is that we must separate from the world’s view on dating because God’s way contradicts the world’s (2 Peter 2:20). While the world’s view may be to date around as much as we want, the important thing is to discover the character of a person before making any commitment to him or her. We should find out if the person has been born again in the Spirit of Christ (John 3:3-8) and if he or she shares the same desire toward Christ-likeness (Philippians 2:5). The ultimate goal of dating or courting is finding a life partner. The Bible tells us that, as Christians, we should not marry an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14-15) because this would weaken our relationship with Christ and compromise our morals and standards. When one is in a committed relationship, whether dating or courting, it is important to remember to love the Lord above all else (Matthew 10:37). To say or believe that another person is “everything” or the most important thing in one’s life is idolatry, which is sin (Galatians 5:20;Colossians 3:5). Also, we are not to defile our bodies by having premarital sex (1 Corinthians 6:9,13;2 Timothy 2:22). Sexual immorality is a sin not only against God but against our own bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18). It is important to love and honor others as we love ourselves (Romans 12:9-10), and this is certainly true for a courtship or dating relationship. Whether dating or courting, following these biblical principles is the best way to have a secure foundation for a marriage. It is one of the most important decisions we will ever make, because when two people marry, they cleave to one another and become one flesh in a relationship which God intended to be permanent and unbreakable (Genesis 2:24;Matthew 19:5).
Anybody can say they love Jesus, or that they’re a Christian, for that matter. But when you’ve got stars in your eyes and love is filling your heart, how do you know if the object of your affection is the real deal or not? The Bible doesn’t talk about the kind of dating relationships we see today;...
