The One with all the Jealousy
Jealousy is a complex emotion, which is activated when there is a real/perceived threat to a relationship. It is deeply rooted in insecurity.
Jon snow has exhibited a good deal of emotions throughout the series, but never once have we seen him insecured, except if it comes to something/someone related to Sansa Stark.
Remember, Everything’s in the subtext
Sansa hated Ramsay to her very core, and would rather see him gelded than anything else in the world. We knew that, Jon knew that. Yet, he still couldn’t stand it when she used the “far better” word when she was comparing him to Ramsay. At the start of their argument, he was composed enough and looked as if bracing himself for a long lecture. After the comparison, he just snapped out of his calm and went back to his sulky season 1 self( I’m better than you all, still i am not chosen as a ranger) . Then, he literally listed his feats of accomplishments like a spurned suitor . Have we ever witnessed him behave like this before? No. Even Sansa was quite taken aback by this response. Because, he was jealous of Ramsay at that moment , a feeling which is very foreign to him. He was jealous of Sansa ’s recognition of Ramsay’s talents.
“Does she miss me terribly?”
We can’t say what Tyrion meant by that statement. He could have just reffered to her missing his companionship or trying to add a bit of humor to their miserable marriage or her pitiful life in the capital altogether. Tyrion has had his moment of foolishness in season 7, but is he stupid enough to add a sexual innnuendo to their relationship in front of her brother? No. But Jon’s first thoughts went just there. Even if Tyrion meant that, they were legally married and Sansa had already established to Jon that he was kind to her and spoken fondly of him. So any relationship they might have had would have been consensual right? But Jon, he was simply shook to the core. The possibility of Sansa having had sex with Tyrion deeply bothered him, when it shouldn’t have. And Tyrion who sensed the mounting tension was quick enough to clear the air by saying that their wedding was not consummated. But why was Jon holding his breath like that, and released a big sigh of relief when he was assured about the true nature of their relationship ? Please watch this video once again and look at his breathing patterns closely.
Before that adorable forehead kiss, Jon was sulking atop the battlements of winterfell. When they began talking , he suddenly brought up the “elephant in the room” aka Little finger.
“ You said lord baelish sold you to the boltons ”
“ you said that lord baelish sold you to our enemies , and yet you trust him more than me” because we already know that she didn’t trust Jon enough to tell him about the knights of the vale.
His question is full of anguish and accusation. Sadly, Sansa didn’t get to see that.
Though, this isnt a romantic jealousy(exactly) it is clear that he was jealous of Sansa ’s trust on Little finger. And when he finally asks Sansa to put her trust in him, he looks so much vulnerable it makes me want to cry.
Since Sansa has had no interaction with any of his previous/current love interests thus far, it doesn’t mean that she didn’t get to be jealous. Yes, she was jealous of only person who is as much closer to Jon as she is, Davos seaworth.
“So, he is your most trusted advisor now?”
Pay attention to the word “most”, it means that Davos is the most trusted advisor and confidant of Jon above all the others, including Sansa.
She then lists all the faults of stannis, to whom Davos had sworn fealty, which looked like a shitty thing to do. But she wasnt being a bitch, just for the sake of it. She was actually jealous of Jon’s trust on Davos and simply wanted to undermine him somehow before Jon’s eyes. That’s it.
Only Jon sand Sansa could bring out the best and worst aspects of each other.
