"Soldier" the Pug Salutes the Men, Women and Service Dogs of Our US Military
Thank you for volunteering your time and in many cases your life to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Thank you for your selfless commitment and dedication to doing your best each and every day. Getting your job done amidst any and all obstacles; large or small, accomplishing daily objectives which collectively impact our continued forward progress.
Thank you for maintaining the positive mental attitude and un-wavering fortitude required to succeed. During times when the odds are against you or the purpose and end goals may seem unclear.
Thank you for taking care of your battle buddy, team members, squad, platoon and often times unknown service members from different branches or countries are working / fighting with you as if they were family. Understanding that while their purpose for enlisting may be different, their sacrifice, love for their family and friends, wish to come home safely and hopes for a better more peaceful world are the same.
Thank You!

Soldier Salutes "Cairo" the Belgian Malinois Military Working Dog of Seal Team Six
"Cairo" is the dog who was on the Seal Team Six mission that captured and killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
Article from The New Yorker that covered our President's introduction to Cairo after telling Commanders, "I want to meet that dog."
The New Yorker article details the raid, including Cairo’s role. Inside the two helicopters on the raid were twenty-three Navy SEALs from Team Six, which is officially known as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, or DEVGRU. A Pakistani-American translator, and Cairo—a Belgian Malinois–a highly intelligent and fearless breed increasingly used by the military.
The two Black Hawks, each of which had two pilots and a crewman from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, or the Night Stalkers, had been modified to mask heat, noise, and movement; the copters’ exteriors had sharp, flat angles and were covered with radar-dampening “skin.”
Twelve SEALs, including Mark, boarded helo one. Eleven SEALs, Ahmed, and Cairo boarded helo two. Cairo’s role was to help clear the buildings, sniff for bombs and booby-traps, search for false walls or hidden doors where Bin Laden could be hiding, or help keep curious neighbors at bay.
Cairo is a Belgian Malinois, like this handsome fellow pictured here.
As it turned out, after one of the helicopters crashed outside the compound’s walls. Cairo, a translator named Ahmed, and four SEALs were responsible for closing off the perimeter of the house while six other SEALs—the contingent that was supposed to have dropped onto the roof—moved inside. For the team patrolling the perimeter, the first fifteen minutes passed without incident. Neighbors undoubtedly heard the low-flying helicopters, the sound of one crashing, and the sporadic explosions and gunfire that ensued, but nobody came outside.
Eventually, a few curious Pakistanis approached to inquire about the commotion on the other side of the wall. “Go back to your houses,” Ahmed said in Pashto, as Cairo and his Seal Team stood watch. “There is a security operation under way.” The locals went home, none of them suspecting that they had talked to an American.
When the squadron commander, spoke at the ceremony honoring Cairo and the Seal Team Six team, he started by citing all the forward operating bases in eastern Afghanistan that had been named for SEALs killed in combat. “Everything we have done for the last ten years prepared us for this,” he told Obama. The President was “in awe of these guys,” Ben Rhodes, the deputy national-security adviser, who travelled with Obama, said. “It was an extraordinary base visit,” he added. “They knew he had staked his Presidency on this. He knew they staked their lives on it.”
And Cairo, the brave Belgian Malinois, trained to slide down a rope or jump 5,000 feet to help protect our troops and country, was there.

UFC Fight Night Post Fight Commentary by Me "Soldier the Pug" & My Over Analytical Owner who has to type for me because he's too cheap to buy the Dragon Voice Recognition App...
Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wyman
Tom: Great fight and good call on the decision. All he needs to do is change his nick name and he's good to go. He should do a contest or a poll on his website / FB fan page and twitter to come up with a better one... It'd be a good little promo tool to grow his fan base too...
Soldier: Yeah. Good call on that decision. Wyman was the aggressor the entire fight. And yes he needs a new nick name. My vote is Matt "In Yo Face" Wyman. Danzig needs to start eating meat again, put the chip back on his shoulder and needs to change his walk out song to "Mother":
and I guarantee he wins his next fight...
Anthony Johnson vs. Charlie Brennerman
Tom: Charlie wasn't out... the fight was stopped too early. Yamasaki was so taken by the crushing impact of the kick he didn't bother to look at Charlie before stepping in to stop the fight. Had he... he would have noticed what we all saw on the replay that Charlie was on his elbows, pissed at himself that he got caught with that and in a defensive posture.
Soldier the Pug: Heh... the spaniard was one hammer fist away from going stiff... like that 400lb Samoan that Tank Abbott dropped back in the day... with those jack and coke fueled overhands.
Good stoppage. The Spaniard will be back soon. He's tough.
Pat Barry vs. Stephan Struve
Tom: Great submission by Struve... If he keeps working on his strength training to handle the more powerful heavyweights, takedown defense and his footwork to stay on the outside of hardcore wrestlers and he'll be a HW Champ by 2014.
Soldier the Pug: Forget the weight room... all Struve needs to do is move to Stockton and spend 2012 w/ the Diaz Brothers & Cesar Gracie. He'll be a contender in by end of the world. Barry needs to get serious, go on the road for the next 12 months hitting as many different camps as possible, drop to 205 and start actualizing his potential or he's getting cut.
Dominic Cruz vs. Mighty Mouse
Tom: These title fights are getting better and better... I just don't understand how Mighty Mouse's camp didn't prep him better for the strength of Cruz. They should have known his out would be the "ok you fast little mutha I'm just gonna grab your ass, flip you onto your back and hold you down to keep you from moving around" technique...
Soldier the Pug: Could you imagine if Cain spent a few days training with Mighty Mouse and just worked on footwork? Holy force of nature... Lighting speed... I think Cain better or he's gonna get caught with some heavy hands by that Brazilian dude who looks kinda like Sloth from Goonies.
