Reworked TV Seating Mod UPDATE

Greetings! Here's the promised update!

This update features some logic improvements, and there are also 2 versions now. Read more below the cut.

The mod now uses Simler90's TV Seating mod as a base. This comes with several improvements to the seat calculations, including:

-Sims will be better about preferring the closest, TV facing seats. -Less musical chairs, sims should stay seated in the chair they're in more if its considered appropriate. -More seat types supported, so sports bar patrons will watch TV from barstools, for example.

There are now also 2 versions, pick one: V1 has no age checks. Everyone will be able to sit on the floor. You should rarely see standing unless it's on a community lot, obviously. V2 has an added elder age check. Elders will never sit down on the floor to watch TV, always standing if there's no chairs available. Be sure to offer them a seat! Recently learned Simler90 made a TV seating mod that improves the seating appropriateness calculation dramatically, so I want to add sitting on the floor capability to it as well. However... Simler90 rewrote the Route to Watch BHAV and I'm losing my mind trying to understand it (╥ ᴗ ╥)

It's times like these where I realize just how much I still have to learn. Oh well, while I'm here... Does it bother anyone that elders will sit on the floor in my original Reworked TV Seating mod? Would you be interested in a version with an age check?

No Photobooth Flash Mod

Just a small mod that removes the 4 repeated flashes when sims take a photo in the photobooth. Instead, none will occur, but everything else is as normal.

I use Numenor's No Lightning Flashing mod to suppress the flashing during storms without removing the effects of lightning. However, there are other times in TS2 where there is repeated flashing. I'm not photo-sensitive, but I do hate flashing!

I needed to make this after a bunch of townies were autonomously taking pictures back to back on a community lot and it was just too much! Hopefully someone else will also find this helpful, whether it's for epilepsy, migraines, sensitive eyes (like me), etc. If you have any suggestions for other instances of flashing lights, I'll look into them. No promises though, as much as I'd love to disable them all...

Activity Table Motive Changes Mod

Don't mind me, just changing every little thing that's ever bothered me about Sims 2. This mod reduces the energy drain playing with the activity table has. Mediafire | SFS

No more kids coming home, immediately running to the activity table, playing for an hour, then needing to go to bed. I find this much more balanced. No known conflicts, please let me know if you find any.

Hi! I got my simfileshare code today, so i've edited all the previous posts to include the SFS link!

As well, thank you so so much for your kindness so far, it's genuinely made me emotional. Seeing, like, names I recognize caring about things I made? It feels surreal. And names I don't recognize? Wow wow wow, this community is so much bigger than it feels sometimes. I know I'm nobody but I'm just... so happy and thankful.

Reworked TV Seating Mod

MogHughson's Watch TV from all chairs is pretty much required by everyone at this point, but I always disliked how, if there's no seating available, my sims seemed to always route to stand in front of the tv and block people. There's also Squinge's Sit on floor to watch TV, but it conflicted with MogHughson's mod, and it also makes people sit on the floor on community lots, which didn't make much sense to me. This edit fixes all of that.

With this mod, sims will enjoy the increased viewing angles of Mog's mod, but if there are no more chairs available, they will instead sit on the floor. Only if they somehow can't sit down at all, will they stand. This portion of the mod is the result of me basically combining Mog's and Squinge's mods together. I have added a check that tells the game that if the current lot is a community lot, they shouldn't sit on the floor. No more sitting on the dirty, sticky floor of sports bars 🤢 Note: During testing, a grand total of 1 time, 1 sim sat on the floor of a community lot. I was not able to reproduce it and have no idea why they did it. If this happens to you, please let me know! Thank you very much to MogHughson and Squinge, whose work this mod is based on.

No Date Flowers/Letters Mod

Yet another mod I've always wanted. This mod completely removes post-date flowers and cards. Sims will not receive them at all, whether the date was with an active household member or not.

Please note: This mod affects the dream date bouquet, the single rose, and good and bad date cards. It does not affect flaming poo bags because I find them funny. If you'd like a version that also removes those, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Known Issues: Do not install this mod if you have a household currently waiting on a gift card. Flowers should be fine, but an issue came up during testing where the mailperson would error when trying to deliver a card if someone was already meant to get one when I put in the mod. Wait until you know no households are expecting a card, however, if you forgot someone was, there is a solution. Hit delete on the error the mailperson throws, then replace the mailbox with a new one. You will need a buyable mailbox for this though. I will of course keep working on finding a solution (every one I've tried so far has failed...) Conflicts with Pescado's Anti-Date Flowers. That mod stops active household sims from placing flowers at their own front doors; it's basically included in this obviously lol

No Goofy Dance Reactions Mod

Something I couldn't find but always wanted. This mod prevents sims from reacting to other sims goofy dancing. Made this because I hold formal dances for my teens and they kept reacting instead of doing literally anything else.

No Lightning Fires Mod

Completely prevents things (trees, etc.) from catching on fire when struck by lightning.

My first upload! I'm surprised I've not seen someone make and upload something like this yet (please let me know if you have!). I've tested it for a month and it's worked perfectly, but please let me know if you do encounter one.

Doesn't technically conflict with Cyjon's less lightning fires, but don't forget to remove it if you use it. I don't know of any mods this conflicts with, but if you find one let me know and I'll tell you how to fix it if you'd like!
