@soliderstanton
Well, thank you. Itâs a pleasure, Jack.
I can assure you, the pleasure is all mine.
Iâm unstable. They nuzzle me when I get transferred. I donât think you could stomach the story.
   Try me.
[she watches as he approaches her, amused by the caution he takes in doing so. she even has to stiffle a giggle and breaks eye contact in order to do so. she gazes downwards to her book, not keen on giving him the impression that she was a complete lunatic.]
Of course. Believe it or not, weâre a peculiar lot. Iâm sorry to disappoint, though.
( his ambiguous smirk remains in tact against his physiognomy as he reserves the seat parallel to her. he seats himself, cobalt oculars flitting to assess the condition of the book before they divert to gauge her visage. )
I have the feeling youâre not all that disappointing of a person. Iâm sure youâll make it up to me.
[his shocked expression only serves to make her laugh harder, but she manages to compose herself a few moments later. she shrugs, a grin playing on her lips.]
What did you expect from the mentally unstable?
( he assesses his surroundings momentarily, noting the fact that they appear to be the only occupants of this particular vicinity. then, reticently, he proceeds closer. he heaves his robust shoulders to something akin to a shrug, his initial irritation long abated. )
Something more imaginative, I guess. I was under the impression that "mental instability" was a more crude way of commending people on their vast imaginations.
[Her laughter lashes out in the air, as she finds something inexplicably funn about the whole situation]
( at first, he merely gapes incredulously at his offender. it isn't long before he buckles under the weight of her amusement, a smirk adorning his flattering physiognomy. )
So that's what it takes to get a chuckle out of you people, huh?
[Her eyes flutter shut as his lips meet hers, more passionately then she would have expected. Once again she felt too new to this area, and was shy, delicately putting a hand on his cheek as she met his kiss with equal fervency]Â
( the softhearted touch of her hand, the fervency that electrifies their kiss, it fosters Jack's inevitable arousal. as a response to her sudden pluckiness, his hands caress her delicate jawline, thumbs sprawled, ghosting over the defined bones of her cheeks as he exerts more force against the cushion of her lips. it seems to convey the weight of the silent pleas from his physiology, bolstering his need to be satiated. )
[Lost in the book spread across her lap, she jumps in surprise at his angry exclamation.]
   You scared me.
( he rubs the pads of his fingertips against the afflicted area, as though he could simply abrade the pain away. he peers over to the source of the anonymous speaker, an inscrutable look contorting his countenance as though he'd been accosted. )
   Boo.
Nor am I, for I majored in physiology. Hm, Iâm the only she in the room. Iâm Kathleen.
   That, you are.
   Jack. Jack Stanton.
It may be unnecessary but I ask you do it.
Iâll go.
[She nods, stepping away and walking down the corridor from the man.]
In that case, definitely don't count on it.
( eyebrows raise expectantly, and he gestures for her to proceed. he observes as she ambles in the opposite direction, a pang of remorse exacerbating his irritation. nostrils flared, fists resuming their clenched position, he wheels around and proceeds onto his previous course. )
Mm, anything in particular?
Something in particular has succeeded in capturing my attention, yes. But, in my humble opinion, she's much more alluring than the blueprints to a skyscraper. Not much of an architect myself.
I wish I was in your family.
I, uh---- well, that's debatable.
[Even though Clara was not so innocent as she portrayed, first moves where not her forte. Taking a step closer, she raised herself onto her tip toes. In order to make contact he would have to lean down somewhat, but she thought this was close enough to entitle a move from him.]
( an inscrutable smirk clouds the once distinguishable grin that embellished his flattering physiognomy. he tests his boundaries, drawing himself closer to her diminutive frame, cobalt oculars piercing those innocent, dusky teacups as the tip of their noses graze each other. then, he propels forward, their lips colliding in a tender, yet heated kiss. )
[From her position behind him, she studies his physique, noticing the tension building, and him placing it unknowingly in his balled up fists. She knows what will happen if she doesnât leave, as she has been in this same position before and has the scars to prove it ] Of course. I advise you head to the gym and let it out. [She smiles coquettishly, and then realises her place, her physiognomy flattening into a state of calmness.]
Just a tip.
Yeah, well. Thanks for that unavailing scrap of wisdom, but it's unnecessary.
( he releases the unconscious grasp of his fist and resorts to folding his arms meticulously across his chest. )
Is this session adjourned, or aren't you going to take my advise?
Boy, I do hope you're as good a sharer as you look.
This place is what gives you the time to heal. with out the distractions of the outside world. You give it a go, and Iâm sure youâll leave soon. You seem absolutely normal to me, perhaps a little irritable and you seem to want to go against everything, but everyone can be like that. And as for your name, if I have to guess, Luke?
I can trust you without believing you canât I? I do trust you, not with much important, but thatâs because weâve just met. Youâve done nothing to break the immediate trust I felt. I canât expect you to feel the same way, but I know when someone is saying something for the sake of it, and ignoring itâs primary intent of being said.
I wasnât intending on being condescending, and Iâm sorry it came across that way. I donât believe youâre a âlab ratâ, and anyone could intrigue me, for I am often intrigued by people. Itâs a compliment, not a n insult, and I hope you can forgive me for saying it.
Just because the cards are hidden, doesnât mean they donât want to be seen.
[Eve watched him go for half a minute, before sighing to herself and walking quickly to arrive at a short distance behind him,] I didnât mean to offend, nor insult you. I hope this wonât affect conversations in the future, even if you wish to leave now.
( albeit he is taken aback by the fact that she has decisively stepped into place behind him, the confrontation has exacerbating is irritation ---- and has triggered the war that continues to reign within him. lanky digits buckle, falling prey to his rising frustration as they involuntarily clench into a steeled fist. if she knew any better, if she'd been listening, she'd know to keep her distance from him when his moods became this volatile, temperamental. blind rage is just one of the many redeeming qualities that Jack Stanton possesses, and he isn't secretive about it. she is the catalyst of this sudden bout of vexation, and therefore in danger of being a victim if Jack can't help himself. in considering such a perturbing notion, he wills his pulse to counteract the steady stream of adrenaline that threatens to usurp his steady composure, and turns to address the persistent blonde. )
For your safety, I suggest you give me time to cool off. Please.
Hmm.. The lovely architecture around you?
( Kathleen let out a small, girlish giggle as she watched him admire her. )
   You could say that.
