if you like movies about weird dysfunctional family dynamics you should watch Little Miss Sunshine and if you like movies that handle topics like suicide but in a kinda lighthearted way you should watch Wristcutters: A Love Story

if you like Elliott Smith you should check out the band heatmiser, Elliott was in it before he started doing solo stuff. also you should watch Heaven Adores You, it's a documentary about his life, and if you somehow haven't seen it already Good Will Hunting is a really good movie and Elliott Smith did a lot of the soundtrack including the song Miss Misery which was made for this movie specifically (and it got him nominated for an Oscar!)
