i’m so sick of seeing people online (mostly cishet girlies) saying they’re having a “sufjan summer” and then just talking about a somewhere in northern italy call me by your name aesthetic BUT i have been putting thought to what an accurate sufjan summer would look like and determined the following:

developing a deep connection with native birds

becoming an expert in local geographical history

studying religious mysticism

working through familial trauma

cultivating the underlying homoerotic tension of every relationship

writing poetry about everyday experiences

having unexplained prophetic dreams about historical figures

watching shitty b rate sequel movies with friends

being a bit too obsessively tyrannical about music

backyard gardening
